Confronting the uncertain environment, this article adopts a case research approach to resonate with the studies of hybridity. It aims to explain how the perception of uncertainty in the institutional environment affects the adaptation of organizational structure in pursuing legitimacy for hybrid organizations. Based on the empirical data collected from a two-staged fieldwork and in-depth interviews, the case analysis concentrates on the correlation between the evolution of institutional logics and organizational structure change from a diachronic perspective. The findings indicate that in the face of competing and changing institutional logics, Chinese mass media organizations have gradually shifted from a dominated blending strategy in the exploration stage to a deeply compartmentalizing strategy in the stable stage. The hybrids can deal with the uncertainty of the institutional environment by enhancing the uncertainty of the organizational structure. Consequently, the case evolves an organizational integration through internal legitimacy. It manifests a possibility for hybrids of combining the two major response mechanisms in one process.

Television, with a larger audience than other mass media in Indonesia, can improve youth engagement in politics, or at least their curiosity about politics. Previous studies showed inconclusive results concerning the effects of television viewing and political interest. However, the current study assessed the effect of talk shows and variety show viewership on college students' political interests. A survey was conducted of 400 college students at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ), Jakarta, Indonesia, using a stratified sampling technique and data analysis with multiple linear regression analysis. The results verified that talk shows and variety show viewership directly relate to the political interest in youth. Variety show viewership has a negative relationship, which means that political interest decreases as viewing of variety show increases. Television use, talk show viewership, and political knowledge positively correlate with political interest. The author suggests a sample from a broader geographical area in the future. Furthermore, the conceptualization of variety shows should be examined more.

Mata Najwa empty-chair is an interviewer's last resort to criticize the health crisis during the pandemic. This research focuses to reveal the utterance of hashtag #MataNajwaMenantiTerawan and purpose of empty-chair interview at Mata Najwa using critical discourse analysis (CDA). The approach of research using three-dimensional CDA of Norman Fairclough has a purpose to describe macro, micro, and mezzo. This study also describes social, political, and cultural situation level by linguistic aspects. The result of study shows that linguistic aspect used in #MataNajwaMenantiTerawan is a metaphor. The movement is indicated as social and institutional criticism of the government in Covid-19 management. Then, an empty-chair interview is aimed to make points of public criticism of the failure of the health minister. Related to Mata Najwa and Narasi TV as neutral and independent mass media, it is acceptable journalistically to have criticism of the government during the crisis of Covid- 19 crisis in Indonesia. One of the richness of Indonesian culture is reflected in the diversity of traditional local foods that are consumed by the community. Along with the times, the existence of most local food is increasingly threatened. One of them is Kipo, a traditional snack from Yogyakarta. As the first step to preserve it, this article explores in-depth to get to know Kipo and find out the opportunities and challenges faced to survive as one of the typical snacks from Yogyakarta. Based on empirical research (Field Research) with data collection through interviews, observations, and literature studies, it was found that Kipo is one of the traditional snacks of Kotagede which has historical and cultural values. Its existence has the potential to be developed into an attraction for culinary tourism activities. To make this happen, it takes the cooperation of the government and local residents to rebrand the Kipo. And what should not be left behind is utilizing mass media and the internet to support the process of information dissemination and promotion

Abstract
Philosophy is presented in a wide range of forms, none of which can be convincingly claimed to be the "genuine" one. Historically speaking, there is not one "proper" way of doing philosophy, evidencing what may be called the social contingency of philosophy. This paper aims to provide a "critical" philosophy of today, in the Kantian sense of a philosophy that reflects on the conditions of its possibility, and thereby acknowledges the limitations they impose. Conceptually, our approach is grounded in Niklas Luhmann's social systems theory, in which "functional differentiation" and "second-order observation" are two crucial characteristics of modern society. The paper discusses how presentations of philosophy align themselves with the second-order observation mechanisms of the specific social systems in which they are "hosted." This paper deals in particular with two such systems: academics and social (or mass) media. These forms of presenting philosophy produce two different kinds of philosophy presenters: the expert and the influencer.

Neste artigo veremos como se fundamenta a proposta comunicacional conservadora de direita do portal Estudos Nacionais e do projeto que engloba a editora homônima. A partir de análise temática de conteúdo feita sobre a produção bibliográfica de Cristian Derosa, que é cofundador, editor-chefe do portal/projeto e um dos principais intelectuais de direita empenhados em denunciar os meios de comunicação de massa (mass media) – incluindo as emissoras de televisão e de rádio, jornais impressos e revistas de circulação nacional – e a suposta estratégia midiática de transformar a sociedade de acordo com "interesses globalistas", pretendemos elucidar, sem a pretensão de esgotar o assunto, a(s) justificativa(s) da proposta comunicacional da plataforma. Além da crítica à mídia de massa, o elogio à internet aparece como um dos fundamentos da proposta do portal/projeto, o qual, não por acaso, aciona teorias conspiratórias improváveis para justificar sua atuação e relevância diante transformação social operada – supostamente – pela comunicação globalista e/ou do silenciamento imposto a temas e personagens de direita em canais tradicionais.

This article seeks to explain the role of the presence of various world-class educational institutions in Qatar which is a concrete step for Qatar in development, social and cultural by Qatar. Qatar believes that education is a major way and has a strong influence to increase Qatar's inclusiveness in the world so that it can maintain a good investment climate. This research is a conceptual paper where the data presented in this study comes from literature studies from Emerald, Science Direct, and Google Schoolar where 314 articles were found which were selected and narrowed down to find 18 articles that were most suitable from the title, abstract, to useful results. This paper also conducted simple SWOT analysis in order to mapping the strategy and provide a valid explanation in this study. From the results of the agreement in this paper, it can be found that as a socio-economic effort which is a long-term plan, education is not the only step that is achieved, but also utilizes mass media and various other aspects.

Previous research has documented that political information in the mass media can shape attitudes and behaviors beyond voter choice and election turnout. The current study extends this body of work to examine associations between televised political campaign advertising (one of the most common forms of political communication people encounter) and worry about crime and violence in the context of the 2016 U.S. presidential election. We merge two large datasets—Kantar/CMAG data on televised campaign advertisement airings ( n = 3,767,477) and Simmons National Consumer Survey (NCS) data on television viewing patterns and public attitudes ( n = 26,703 respondents in the United States)—to test associations between estimated exposure to campaign ads about crime and crime worry, controlling for demographics, local crime rates, and political factors. Results from multivariate models show that estimated cumulative exposure to campaign ads about crime is associated with higher levels of crime worry. Exposure to campaign ads about crime increased crime worry among Republicans, but not Democrats.

Abstract
This article analyses the place and value of occult arts in the healthcare market of Republican China (1912–1949). Medical historiography has long neglected the resilience of such occult arts as talismans, astrology and divination in the context of China's search for modernity. Focusing on the production, trade, and consumption of goods and services related to talismanic healing, I give voice to Chinese occultists by investigating the formation of a 'market of the occult' in the Republican era. I adopt a global perspective to clarify the changes that occult healing underwent following the popularisation of new printing technologies, mass media and transnational spiritualism in early twentieth-century China. Erstwhile embraced in secrecy, the occult was now being made public. Cheap manuals, wide-circulation newspapers and book catalogues reveal that in contrast to past studies that herald the disenchantment of the world as the hallmark of Chinese modernity, occult healing did not simply survive but thrived in the face of modern science and technology.

The #BlackLivesMatter movement has been met with resistance and hostility by many whites who do not see the need for assertions regarding the value and worth of Black lives. Those who seek to disrupt this emerging discourse tend to regard instances of white violence against Black people as individual incidents that do not reflect larger societal patterns. This paper addresses these assertions by drawing on discussions of slurs and other racially abusive language in the workplace. Using autoethnography, I provide rich descriptions of how hateful language circulates in whitespaces through both interpersonal interactions and through group-level consumption of racially problematic mass media creating organizations that are hostile to people of color, even in their absence. Major implications of this study include that the devaluation of Black and Native lives is pervasive within many predominantly white organizations and that this reality negatively effects both the life chances and the personal safety of people of color.

This gap is often referred to as an issue. Issues facing an organization should be properly managed through an issue management. One of the issues facing the Ministry of Finance is the issue of Indonesian government debt. This issue developed through the mass media. This issue has the potential to damage the reputation and public trust in the Ministry of Finance. This study examines how the Ministry of Finance deals with the issue of Indonesian government debt. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to gain an understanding of the issue management undertaken. The research data was collected from observations and in-depth interviews with several sources.The results show that the Ministry of Finance has succeeded in dealing with government debt issues through the application of standard operating procedure (SOP) for handling negative news which is an adaptation of the issue management model.

Information flows, without which it is impossible to imagine a modern society and its cultural environment, penetrate into all spheres of an individual's life thanks to digital technologies. As a result, social processes experience drastic changes in the ways and forms of cognition and transformation of the surrounding reality, as well as in the processes of formation and representation of the individual in society. As a result of the development of digital information technologies, significant changes have occurred in the living space and the perception of time by a person of the 21st century. The Internet has formed its own unique information space, with its own special social and technological characteristics. A virtual network is a space for global communication and high-speed data dissemination, as well as an environment for people's interaction that is not limited by the barriers of traditional mass media. All this has created a new type of culture – the culture of virtual reality, since our reality consists mainly of everyday virtual experiences.

Tourism is one of the fields that can increase local revenue. Semarang City, has an old city icon that can be a strong attraction for the tourism aspect. The research aims to determine tourism development plans and programs, the involvement of organizations and other relevant parties, the mechanism of implementing tourism development, and the pattern of supervision carried out for sustainable tourism development. This pattern of sustainable tourism development has high hopes for the preservation of the environment. In its implementation, it replicates the Pentahelix model, which involves Government, Private, Community, Academic and mass media components. Thus the management of tourism in the city of Semarang is the responsibility of all stakeholders. So that tourism destinations that can support regional and central income without ignoring the environment. Recommendations that can be proposed are Optimizing the potential of natural and cultural tourism as regional tourism icons; Sustainable tourism development needs to be done by empowering local communities.

This study examines the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on stock returns. The independent variables are daily new deaths and daily new cases. The sample that uses in this study is financial sector, one of the most crucial sectors in an economy. Total sample is 22,930 observations during the period from March to December in 2020. This study uses unbalanced panel data and multiple regression to prove those hypotheses. The result shows that the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) hurt on stock returns. Investors feel anxious and frightened to hear the news regarding the increasing number of deaths and the number of new cases. Investors prefer to delay investment until the capital market returns to normal. Furthermore, during the pandemic period, Friday's effect may reduce losses from stock returns. The implication of this study is that an increase in the number of deaths and the number of new cases can reduce stock returns. The government needs to suppress bad news circulating in the mass media in order to reduce investor anxiety.
