Objective: The purpose of this study was to use patient data gathered by a hospital information system (HIS) to improve the safe performance of bedside radiography. Method: Hierarchical cluster analysis was used to investigate the factors of hospitalised patients who had undergone radiography in the X-ray room or at the bedside. Logistic regression analysis was then performed to quantify patient factors and calculate the probability of undergoing general radiography or bedside radiography. Results: Patients were grouped into six clusters by hierarchical cluster analysis on the basis of their factors. We found a remarkable difference between clusters for the ratio of bedside radiography. Results indicated that "types of transportation" and "level of mobility" related to the ratio of bedside radiography. Logistic regression analysis of the associations between the probability of undergoing bedside radiography and patient factors indicated that type of transportation and level of mobility were highly correlated with bedside radiography or general radiography. Conclusion: Our results suggested that the secondary use of HIS data for the quantitative evaluation of patient factors and implementation of those quantitative values in medical records may be useful for the safe performance of bedside radiography as well as providing a method of decision support for doctors to order bedside radiography.

In this article we identified the factors which according to international experts will have substantial ef-fects on the general future developments and commercialization of carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technologies. A two round online Delphi study with 15 international experts in the field of CCU enabled us to explore the main items within five impact categories, being: (1) benefits, (2) risks, (3) future devel-opments, (4) demand and (5) supply constraints. Based on the results of the Delphi study we subsequently constructed four future scenarios which represent how the CCU sector could look like in 10 years using a local scenario development workshop with 9 experts from within Flanders (Belgium) and the Netherlands. We used a deductive, explorative scenario development method, which resulted in a 2x2 scenario matrix. The results of the Delphi study, all four scenarios and their implications for existing and future industry and governmental organizations are presented. Our insights are valuable and timely for facilitating the pro-cess of scenario planning for CCU development activities. Finally, although we worked with a regionally specific case study, the same method could be implemented in other regions, using the general findings from our Delphi study as a starting point for the scenario development. ; BOF, INTERRGEG, and FWO

Este artículo analiza cómo se procesó en los lugares de trabajo y al nivel más general de la política la reestructuración regresiva de los vínculos capitaltrabajo en el agro pampeano. Se aportan nuevos elementos para la reconstrucción del período y se analiza la integración orgánica de civiles y militares contra trabajadores rurales en distintas áreas de acción durante la última dictadura (1976-1983) y después (1984-1989), así como modalidades de resistencias obreras. Las conclusiones de basan en el análisis interpretativo de fuentes orales, en la consulta de fuentes documentales y hemerográficas, y en la triangulación de estadísticas judiciales, económicas y demográficas. ; This article analyses how the reverting restructuring of the capital-labour relations in the pampas's agriculture were processed both in workplaces and at the general level of politics. We provide new elements for the reconstruction of the period and analyse the organic integration of civilians and the military against rural workers in different areas of action during the last dictatorships (1976-1983) and (1984-1989) along with workers' resistance modalities. This article analyzes and discusses alternatives for the design of a curriculum for the teaching of Mandarin, from a Costa Rican academic perspective. Due to the increasing importance of bilateral political, commercial and cultural relations with China, the relevance of promoting the design of a bachelor's degree in Mandarin, as one of the programs offered by the Universidad Nacional (Costa Rica), is highlighted. For this purpose, the process carried out to initiate the proposal is described, including a detailed report of the results of surveys among the target sector. In addition, various recommendations are given, in pedagogical, logistical and institutional matters in general. ; En este artículo se analizan y comentan alternativas para el diseño de un plan de estudios para la enseñanza del mandarín, desde la academia costarricense. Por la creciente importancia de las relaciones bilaterales, de índole política, comercial y cultural con China, se señala la pertinencia de promover el diseño de un bachillerato en mandarín como parte de la oferta académica en la Universidad Nacional (Costa Rica). Para ello, se expone el proceso llevado a cabo para poner en marcha la propuesta, lo que incluye un pormenorizado informe de los resultados de encuestas entre el sector meta. De ello, además, se desprenden diversas recomendaciones, en materia pedagógica, logística e institucional en general.

The purpose of this study is to cast the light on the lexical presupposition in political speech by King Abdullah II of Jordan. The lexical presupposition is one of the primary concepts of pragmatics, and it is used to include a general class of pragmatic and semantic phenomena that have a fundamental impact on the apprehension of utterances. Particularly, this concept denotes premise that truth is taken in an utterance and without the value of truth that cannot be set and can broadly be related with a lexical element or certain grammatical features in any utterance. The language plays a significant role in the communication and interpretation of intentions by examining selected political speeches of King Abdullah II in European Parliaments Strasbourg in 2015 and his speech at the Leaders' Summit on Refugees (on the margins of the 71st UN General Assembly) that held in New York in 2016. Generally, political speech involves a language that is padded to be understood only by political people or people who have knowledge in political speeches whose language tends to be ambiguous and implicit meaning. Thus, this study glosses the lexical presupposition in King Abdullah II political speech. It finds the lexical presupposition in his speech and the reason for using lexical presupposition in his speech.

Speaking up and confronting co-workers when they behave undesirably is important for the well-being of the personnel and organizational performance. In some organizations, a culture of silence prevails, however. Although a number of organizational environments are particularly receptive to employee voice, others are less open to voice behavior, which gives rise to a risk of undesirable behavior. Direct communication (voice) can reduce this enhanced risk. In this study, we used the Theory of Planned Behavior to examine the extent to which attitude, social norm and perceived behavioral control determine voice in hierarchical contexts, which, in general, tend to inhibit voice behavior. For this purpose, a survey study was conducted among military and civilian personnel of the Netherlands Ministry of Defense (n = 374). Results showed that employee voice is rather high, regardless of rank, position or gender. Structural equation modeling showed that voice was significantly predicted by perceived behavioral control and injunctive norms (i.e., what is considered to be normal in a certain working-environment). Contrary to expectations, voice was not predicted by attitude and descriptive social norms (i.e., what people see that others are doing in this respect). Stimulating confronting skills and creating a climate in which speaking up is perceived as normal may be beneficial for organizations in general and hierarchical organizations in particular.

Background: Patellofemoral pain is considered one of the most common forms of knee pain, affecting adults, adolescents, and physically active populations. Inconsistencies in reported incidence and prevalence exist and in relation to the allocation of healthcare and research funding, there is a clear need to accurately understand the epidemiology of patellofemoral pain.Methods: An electronic database search was conducted, as well as grey literature databases, from inception to June 2017. Two authors independently selected studies, extracted data and appraised methodological quality. If heterogeneous, data were analysed descriptively. Where studies were homogeneous, data were pooled through a meta-analysis.Results: 23 studies were included. Annual prevalence for patellofemoral pain in the general population was reported as 22.7%, and adolescents as 28.9%. Incidence rates in military recruits ranged from 9.7 – 571.4/1,000 person-years, amateur runners in the general population at 1080.5/1,000 person-years and adolescents amateur athletes 5.1% - 14.9% over 1 season. One study reported point prevalence within military populations as 13.5%. The pooled estimate for point prevalence in adolescents was 7.2% (95% Confidence Interval: 6.3% - 8.3%), and in female only adolescent athletes was 22.7% (95% Confidence Interval 17.4% - 28.0%).Conclusion: This review demonstrates high incidence and prevalence levels for patellofemoral pain. Within the context of this, and poor long term prognosis and high disability levels, PFP should be an urgent research priority.

International audience ; Our presentation is centred on the description of the French higher education and research environment and the way it has developed in the scientific and technical information domain, up the recent presentation of the national open science policy by Minister Frédérique Vidal in July 2018. We will show that the focus on identifying a public service to universities and research institutions has lead to the setting up of centralised and coordinated services and decision-making processes that have put us in a strong position in the context of the on-going negotiations that are taking place with several monopolistic publishers. After a quick presentation of the general landscape, we will focus on the actual technical infrastructures that are currently in place and in particular how the existence of a national (cheap and efficient) publication repository has facilitated the development of a green open access orientation in the country. We will also present the general political support we have in this respect, with both the "Loi pour une République Numérique" (with articles related to open access and TDM) and the multi-institutional call of Jussieu aiming at providing a basis for an in-depth change of the publication eco-system. As an example of a concrete implementation of such policies, we will detail the open access strategy of Inria, which has had a deposit mandate in HAL since several years.

Indonesia as a democratic country that implemented the electoral system since 1955. Caused the world of politics in Indonesia to become more mature. Democratic practices developed from the reform era to the present. The general election which is a means of democracy is not far from political deviations, one of which is the black campaign. Special election judiciary exists with the aim of protecting the constitutional rights of citizens in elections, provide legal space for those who have been harmed in the implementation of elections, get legal certainty in the life of a democratic country, and as an effort to accelerate the settlement of disputes or cases during the general election process. Democracy in Indonesia can now be said to be comparatively well established but actually has a fairly shaky foundation, where the power of the people who should be united from below is taken from above (Top-Down democracy consolidation). For this reason, a special election court exists to examine, hear and decide on certain cases which can only be established in one of the judicial bodies under the Supreme Court regulated in the law. Special election court is important to maintain stability in politics. The idea of a Special Election Court is actually one of the most important components in the principles of election administration, namely "legal certainty".

Colic is a common and potentially life-threatening condition of horses. Multiple risk factors have been previously identified and it is known that a careful management routine can help reduce colic rates. The British military working horse population represents a unique cohort of horses that are intensively managed with a strict regimen. This retrospective study examined the incidence and mortality rate of colic within this population, as well as the signalment of affected horses, and compared these with the general population. Data for 717 horses over a five-year period (2008–2012) were analysed. Of these, 163 horses (22.7 per cent) experienced 267 colic episodes and 13 horses (1.8 per cent) died because of colic. Recurrent colic was experienced by 35 per cent (57/163) of horses. The incidence of colic was 11.1 episodes per 100 horse-years and of colic-related death was 0.5 deaths per 100 horse-years. Horses purchased from mainland Europe were more likely to suffer from colic (OR 4.6; P<0.001) and from recurrent colic (OR 6.0; P=0.005) than horses purchased from Ireland. Only 3 per cent (8/267) of colic episodes were treated surgically. It was concluded that the incidences of colic and colic-related deaths within the British military working horse population are similar to those of the general horse population.

This study explores the causal relationship between Internet users&rsquo ; ideologies and their corresponding attitudes to genetically modified (GM) food safety. Using the 2015 Chinese Internet User Survey data (N = 3780) as a representative sample of Internet users from China, the study investigates factors influencing people&rsquo ; s attitudes to GM food safety. Multinomial Logistic Regression Models are applied to examine the effects of demographic features (gender, age, education, family annual income, location, CPC membership, and occupation) and ideological factors (general ideology, political ideology, economic ideology, and cultural ideology) on attitudes to GM food safety. The results demonstrate that the percentage of people whose attitude is that &ldquo ; GM food is risky&rdquo ; (35.1%) surpasses those who think &ldquo ; GM food is safe&rdquo ; (20.4%). The young generation respondents think that GM food is safe, while those with higher levels of income and education are more inclined to view GM food as risky. In addition, public sector employees tend to think that GM food is risky. Respondents characterized with right-wing ideology in general tend to regard GM food as safe, compared to left-wing ideologists. However, their attitude varies in different ideological dimensions of politics, economics, and culture. This paper contributes new insights into understanding ideological influences on science development and sustainability.

Modernizing coastal fortifications in Spain was the Bourbon monarchy's priority in the first quarter of the 18th century. In 1721, Jorge Próspero Verboom, the General Engineer, together with some military engineers -including his son Isidro Prospero- began a reconnaissance trip of the defences on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. From there, he directed fortification projects for Alicante, Cartagena, Ceuta, Malaga and Cadiz. In 1725, he undertook a new journey, this time to the western Spanish-French border. He drafted projects for Pamplona and Fuenterrabia, and tasked Isidro Próspero to write the project for San Sebastian, using this project as an endorsement for his son to succeed him as General Engineer. This research describes the technical projects developed in this period and contextualises them in strategic territorial and defensive lines. The defensive systems underwent crisis during the War of Succession. Not only did they need reinforcement but it was also necessary to preserve commercial routes with a safe system of ports.
