In early 2005, the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) and the University of Victoria's (UVic) Faculty of Education began collaborating on a project to teach participatory research (PR) via distance education. Written by the two course instructors from PRIA and UVic, this article documents the successes and challenges of this international collaborative project. We argue that figuring out how to live and communicate the values of PR in teaching is equal to meeting the content goals, and integral to the struggle of PR itself. Just as our partnership bridges university and community-based institutions in the Majority and Minority Worlds, so too are these differences reflected in the history of PR and in the learner composition of our classrooms. As such, we believe that the theory, practice, and struggle of PR are advanced through the example of our personal and ongoing commitment to reflexivity and relationship.

At the G8 Deauville Summit in 2011, the decision was taken to extend the G8 Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction (GP) beyond the initially envisioned period of ten years, projected to end in 2012. This paper explores the evolution of the GP and examines the question of how the renewed Partnership might be reconfigured in terms of composition, structuring, areas of operation and priorities to take threat reduction work ahead in the post-2012 period. Drawing also from material published by the G8 and taking into account pronouncements by key officials, this paper overall argues that flexibility and inclusivity will be the defining features of the renewed GP that can be expected to fit into many dresses in terms of programming, membership, and the area of operation. Moreover, the assertion is made that the renewed Partnership could be a hybrid, on the one side, bringing in and building on the experiences, lessons-learned, expertise, networks, and principles of the old-GP, and, at the same time, extended and supplemented with elements drawn from the nuclear security summit (NSS) series anticipated to conclude in 2014.

In this master's work approach of bribery offence in Criminal Code is revealed by analyzing the configuration of bribery: the subject - matter, the objective part, the subject and the subjective part. Moreover, there is examined history of treatment of bribery offence in Lithuania since 1918 when Lithuania proclaimed its independence. Also this criminal offence is distinguished from other offences against public authority (such as backhander, misuse and bribery of agent) accenting main differences among those criminal offences which all together defines corruption. Furthermore, in this work there is analyzed treatment of bribery in main European Union, Council of Europe and United Nations Organization international documents in which this offence is called passive corruption or passive bribery and which are compulsory for the Republic of Lithuania. In the end, there is reviewed regulation of bribery criminal offence in main criminal laws of foreign countries – Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, United States of America and Canada.

Angesichts der neuen offenen Niedriglohnländer in Mittelosteuropa steht die EU vor neuen wirtschaftlichen und wirtschaftspolitischen Herausforderungen. Zugleich sehen sich die Transformationsländer nicht nur mit den internen Anpassungsproblemen des Systemwandels konfrontiert, sondern auch mit protektionistischen Maßnahmen der EU-Länder, die einer verschärften Konkurrenz aus den mittelosteuropäischen Niedriglohnländern gegenüberstehen. Die Visegrad-Länder drängen dabei auf eine baldige EU-Mitgliedschaft, was gleichermaßen Chancen und Risiken für Europa bedeutet, wobei sich unterschiedliche Optionen für die EU wie für die Transformationsländer anbieten. Auf der Grundlage integrationstheoretischer Ansätze, aktueller Wirtschaftsdaten und erkennbarer politischer Weichenstellungen in der EU und Mittelosteuropa wird im folgenden die Problematik analysiert, inwieweit eine Öffnung der mittelosteuropäischen Staaten ihre Integration in die EU ermöglicht bzw. herbeiführt. An article clarifies problems that occur in informational and legal space and ways of their solution. With the help of dialectical, cybernetic, statistical, formal and legal, comparative and legal methods of scientific research the experience of legal law fixing in the Internet and adjacent on international level is characterized. The comparative and legal analysis of national and foreign relationships regulation that that occur in informational space is done. The possible ways of Ukrainian legislative framework development is offered from the view of informational and technical rights with an accent on the particular rights that arise in the network. ; У статті висвітлено проблеми, що виникають в інформаційно-правовому просторі та шляхи їх подолання. За допомогою діалектичного, кібернетичного, статистичного, формально-юридичного, порівняльно-правового методів наукового дослідження охарактеризовано досвід правового закріплення права на Інтернет та суміжних до нього прав на міжнародному рівні; здійснено порівняльно-правовий аналіз вітчизняного та зарубіжного регулювання відносин, що виникають у цифровому просторі. Запропоновано можливі шляхи удосконалення законодавчої бази України у питанні інформаційно-технічних прав з акцентом на права, що виникають в мережі.
