"Being able to communicate is a cornerstone of healthy aging. People need to make themselves understood and to understand others to remain cognitively and socially engaged with families, friends, and other individuals. When they are unable to communicate, people with hearing impairments can become socially isolated, and social isolation can be an important driver of morbidity and mortality in older adults. Despite the critical importance of communication, many older adults have hearing loss that interferes with their social interactions and enjoyment of life. People may turn up the volume on their televisions or stereos, miss words in a conversation, go to fewer public places where it is difficult to hear, or worry about missing an alarm or notification. In other cases, hearing loss is much more severe, and people may retreat into a hard-to-reach shell. Yet fewer than one in seven older Americans with hearing loss use hearing aids, despite rapidly advancing technologies and innovative approaches to hearing health care. In addition, there may not be an adequate number of professionals trained to address the growing need for hearing health care for older adults. Further, Medicare does not cover routine hearing exams, hearing aids, or exams for fitting hearing aids, which can be prohibitively expensive for many older adults. Hearing Loss and Healthy Aging is the summary of a workshop convened by the Forum on Aging, Disability, and Independence in January 2014 on age-related hearing loss. Researchers, advocates, policy makers, entrepreneurs, regulators, and others discussed this pressing social and public health issue. Background. Indonesia has become the country with the highest elderly population in Southeast Asia which around 27 million people within 2020. Demographic bonus, where the productive age is higher than the non-productive age, should be optimized so that it becomes an opportunity to decrease the dependency ratio of the elderly over 65 years. However, increasing life expectancy has other implications which as the increase in health problems associated with the aging process, including the emergence of degenerative diseases. The concept of healthy aging formed due to the increase of public awareness to live within quality life and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and good nutrition. Healthy aging is the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables wellbeing in older age. Lifestyle improvement from the early stage will have a better effect on a person's lifelong health. Unfortunately, it is not widely known by the public, so awareness is not yet evident and benefits cannot be obtained optimally.Objectives. Healthy aging is the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables wellbeing in older age. The aim of this review is to raise awareness among the adult age group about the important role of physical activity and nutrition in achieving a healthy aging condition.Discussion. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend adults aged 18–65 year to participate in moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity for a minimum of 30 minutes on five days per week, or vigorous-intensity aerobic activity for a minimum of 20 minutes on three days per week. Moreover, recent WHO (2020) guideline towards physical activity and sedentary behavior recommend all adults to have moderate-intensity for 150 – 300 min or vigorous-intensity for 75 – 150 min per week. But this recommendation has not been able to reduce physical inactivity number in Indonesian society, especially adult and senior adult. There are some nutrition elements related to mobility health, mainly are protein, vitamin D, calcium, antioxidant and omega-3, and many studies report that Indonesian adults suffer deficiencies on these nutrition elements and cause health problems related to mobility. Health interventions should involved many stakeholders, e.g government, private sectors, NGO, mass media, and many more.Conclusions: The concept of healthy aging and interventions related to this need to be recognized and implemented as early as possible to get optimal results, and preferably starting from adulthood. Health interventions carried out must be holistic and synergize between physical activity, nutrition, mental health and other factors that play a role. A community-based approach is the easiest and fastest way to change mindsets and behavior patterns, and can be implemented in the work environment or other communities.

The term "creative aging," in the broadest sense, describes an aging policy idea that focuses on highlighting the creativity of older adults in order to prepare individuals and communities to manage old age. Programs focus on the evolution of creativity over the lifespan and aim to provide meaningful participatory engagement, especially through the arts.

Population aging affects almost every sphere of society. The number of people aged 60 or older has surpassed 1 billion, and the majority of them lives in low-income and middle-income countries, often without access to basic resources and facing barriers to full social participation. The number of European citizens aged over 65 in the next 50 years will increase two times, while the number of oc- togenarians will increase three times. However, a longer life does not necessarily mean a healthier or a more active life. Today, unhealthy life years amount to almost 20% of a person's life. An aging population, mainly due to the presence of chronic diseases, requires greater use of health care ser- vices, leading to unsustainable health care costs (1). The challenges posed by aging population in Europe have been the focal point of debates on the future of European Union. An increasing number of retired people, coupled with a shrinking working-age population, is expected to place additional burden on European welfare systems. European 2020 Strategy for Smart, Sustainable, and Inclu- sive Growth has been implemented with an aim to pro- mote active aging policies. Besides eradicating poverty and social exclusion, the strategy emphasizes the need for "promoting a healthy and active ageing population to allow for social cohesion and higher productivity" (2). Simi- larly, the initiative of European Innovation Partnership in Active and Healthy Aging by the European Commission fosters innovation and digital transformation in active and healthy aging.
