The financial reporting process is a standardized process by which an entity provides information about its business, which is not considered confidential, in the environment in which it operates, for the purpose of supporting and developing the society in general. For several years, this process has been undergoing a period of transformation that involves including in the reporting process, in addition to financial information, non-financial information that presents aspects of the resources used, the business model and the new value created by entity. Thus arose the concept of integrated reporting. In European Union, several European directives have been issued setting out the obligation to provide information on the environment, social issues, and personnel. Recently, a European Union project intended to amend the reporting directives by introducing a new concept, reporting for sustainability. These attitudes pose challenges for professional accountants as the reports need to be audited to express an opinion on the level of assurance in relation to the information provided.

"In November 1997 and in February 1998 there were held two conferences commemorating
important events in the development of social reporting in Germany: the publication of the
first government report on the situation of the family in 1968 and the trade union congress
on quality of life in 1972. At both conferences I gave a talk referring to an early paper of
mine also from 1972, under the title "On the measurement of quality of life" (Zapf 1972).
In the following version I take up again the two main parts of that paper: the theoretical
discussion about a broader concept of welfare (I) and the discussion about methods and
institutions of social reporting (II). In conclusion, I briefly shall discuss probable effects and
limits of social reporting today (III)." (author's abstract)

AbstractNonprofit organizations have a compulsory external accountability (largely involving financial reporting) to government agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service and state regulators. They also have a pragmatic "must‐do" accountability to their funders, clients, and other obvious stakeholders. But are nonprofits also accountable to the public at large? If so, how can such accountability be implemented, given the diffuseness and breadth of the public as an audience? This article suggests that nonprofits should consider the citizenry as a stakeholder, if only due to the substantial taxpayer subsidy of the sector. The theory of public reporting that emerged in public administration literature beginning in the 1920s and 1930s can be helpful. Using principles, templates, and examples from public administration, nonprofit organizations can pursue more vigorous public reporting as one method to increase citizen confidence in their activities and in the sector as a whole.

The subject of the paper is reporting on juvenile crime in Serbia on the websites of daily newspapers Kurir and Politika. By applying the content analysis, the author intended to determine whether reporting was approached professionally, as well as whether journalists dealt with the causes of juvenile delinquency, while at the same time trying to educate readers about the specific characteristics of this phenomenon. The aim of the paper is to examine the compliance of media coverage with the relevant norms that bind journalists. The results of the research indicate that, in a formal and legal sense, media reporting is in compliance with the positive regulations governing this area, but that the ethics could be at a higher level. Although reporting is generally based on the named sources and does not contradict the principle of privacy protection, there is no indication of the broader context in which juvenile delinquency manifests itself. The media image of juvenile crime created by the analyzed websites emphasizes violent crime, although juveniles in Serbia predominantly commit property crimes. The author concludes that there is a need for more substantive reporting that would not be limited to the mere transmission of information about the most serious forms of juvenile crime, but would also educate the general public about this topic.
Abstract. The article examines the main aspects of social (non-financial) reporting formation in Ukraine and in developed countries. It was found that the formation of social reporting began in the late ХХth century by companies which took responsibility for the consequences of their activities. The normative legal provision in the countries of the European Union is investigated. It is substantiated that the regulatory framework of social reporting in Ukraine needs to be improved. The positive dynamics in relation to the total number of GRI reports in the world and in Ukraine is given. It was found that there is no single approach to the definition and description of social reporting. The world and national experience has formed different interpretations of social reporting. It has been established that although social reporting in accordance with certain standards is spreading around the companies in Ukraine, but national enterprises still pay less attention to interaction with stakeholders, anti-corruption activities, transparent business and business ethics as it is necessary. The availability of social reporting among the largest landowners of Ukraine is analyzed. The analysis was conducted on the basis of information posted on the websites of enterprises, it was found that only a small part of them generates social reports. The stages of formation of integrated reporting at the agraian enterprises of Ukraine are offered. It is substantiated that the Ukrainian enterprises should go through the first and second stages of the nonfinancial reporting formation to the 3rd decisive stage which means the formation of the integrated reporting. It is proved that in order to involve business structures in the formation of non-financial reporting in Ukraine in accordance with the UNO Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals, it is necessary to unite efforts between agrarian business, public authorities and the community (active participants with social issues) for strategic business in the context of holism and balancing on the basis of solving social problems, increasing the level of the population welfare and achieving a social effect.
