The article explores the effect of investment promotion on FDI flows in the country. The first part of the article analyses scientific literature on the interconnection between investment promotion and determinants of FDI. Three Baltic States have been chosen for the purpose of empirical analysis. Three main tools for investment promotion are highlighted. In order to determine the impact of FDI determinants on FDI flows and the role of investment promotion among them, three multiple criteria methods are used. The conducted analysis has confirmed the theoretical statements that investment promotion influences FDI flows and has a strong effect on FDI on the condition that investment promotion is fully introduced. International audience ; The article deals with the problem of the formation of the state capital and examines the influence of local or foreign capital on the national economy. The extent to which GDP depends on foreign debt, on foreign direct investments and on financial support was determined. GDP, the export/import ratio, inflation and average wage level are attributed to the key factors defining the growth of economy, i. e. depending on the capital structure. The average wage level is employed as the unit for the calculation of labour costs. It can be observed that the nature, intensity, and impact of the foreign capital vary in different business sectors. The conclusion can be drawn that the impact of the foreign capital and its factors depend only on the country-specific features.

However, nowadays more and more countries tend to switch from the liberal government policy to the regulatory one. Therefore, this article discusses the main causes of this phenomenon. This article examines the government incentives towards foreign direct investments (further – FDI) of Central and Eastern Europe countries by evaluating the external influencing factors of foreign investment. Tax deduction is considered to be the most significant influencing factor on attracting FDI. Hence, the empirical analysis is based on exogenous variables. The empirical model was used to determine causal relationship between macroeconomic variables and FDI intensity in Central and Eastern European countries. The article introduces some policy recommendation for the increase of FDI intensity in Central and Eastern Europe. Santrauka Straipsnyje nagrinėjama, kaip užsienio investicijų priemonės taikomos Centrinės ir Rytų Europos šalyse. Vertinami išoriniai užsienio investicijas lemiantys veiksniai, teigiama, kad TUI įplaukas skatina daugiau mokesčių nei finansinės paskatos. Tačiau laikomasi nuomonės, kad mokesčių lengvatos – vie-na pagrindinių priežasčių, lemiančių TUI įplaukas. Empirinis modelis pagrįstas mažiausiųjų kvadratų metodu, kuriuo nustatomas priežastinis sąryšis tarp makroekonominių rodiklių ir TUI intensyvumo. This paper has examined a long - run causal nexus between export and economic growth in six regions of the world. For this purpose, the authors have applied the Granger causality test. Using annual data for the period of 1971 – 2018, the authors have tested the direction of the causality between the variables. The research has found unidirectional causality running from export to economic growth in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. Moreover, the research has noticed the absence of the Granger causality in Africa and Latin America & the Caribbean. The findings could be useful in implementing regional policy. In Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania policy makers should aware of the importance of trade and focus on implementing export-oriented policies to stimulate economic growth and achieve sustainable development.

The article analyzes the impact of FDI on economic growth and development of a host country in various conditions. Different sets of driving forces characteristic for certain stages of development of FDI receiving country are being considered. As the final aim of the critical analysis of contemporary theoretical and empiric findings the authors see the discovery of consistent patterns. Several FDI theories are reviewed in the article. The effects of FDI in developing countries are especially highlighted. The disparity between theoretical and empirical findings is taken into account: negative and positive aspects of FDI impact on countries that are on the path of development are revealed and interpreted. The authors conclude that the nature of the effects of FDI is mainly determined by specific characteristics of the developing countries, such as market structure, level of capital attainability and its absorptive capacity and others. Together with the development of the recipient country, FDI driving forces and outcomes transform. ; Daugelyje pereinamosios ekonomikos šalių tiesioginės užsienio investicijos, vertinamos kaip vienas iš ūkio plėtros veiksnių, buvo ir yra laikomos svarbia produktyvumą, ir ekonominį augimą skatinančia sąlyga. Toks palankus požiūris į tiesiogines užsienio investicijas (toliau – TUI) lėmė daugelio valstybių ekonominę užsienio kapitalo politiką: besivystančios šalys visokeriopai skatina tarptautinio kapitalo srautus, suteikdamos tiek mokestines lengvatas, tiek išskirtines strateginio investuotojo teises privatizuojant svarbius valstybės objektus. Tačiau tam tikri atvejai verčia abejoti, ar TUI visada užtikrina produktyvumo augimą, parduodamų prekių ir suteikiamų paslaugų kokybės bei kiekio didėjimą. Nepaisydami dominuojančio pozityvaus požiūrio kai kurie mokslininkai įrodinėja, jog užsienio kapitalo poveikis šį kapitalą įsileidžiančiai šaliai tam tikrais atvejais gali ne tik neduoti laukiamo efekto, bet, priešingai, stabdyti vietinio ūkio ekonominę plėtrą. Šiame straipsnyje kaip tik nagrinėjama, kokios varomosios jėgos lemia užsienio kapitalo srautų dydį ir kryptis bei kokios pasekmės yra tikėtinos užsienio kapitalui įsiliejus į konkurencinę, monopolinę arba oligopolinę ūkio šaką. Autorės kritiškai analizuoja pagrindines TUI judėjimo teorijas. Straipsnyje keliami vietinių bei užsienio investicijų suderinamumo klausimai, gvildenama finansinio sektoriaus išsivystymo lygio bei TUI poveikio ekonominiam augimui ryšio problemos. Pabrėžiama, jog atskirų užsienio kapitalo srautų poveikis kai kurioms šalies recipientės ūkio šakoms gali būti ne tik priešingas, bet ir laikui bėgant keisti savo kryptį arba poveikio stiprumą, t. y. kai kuriais atvejais TUI teigiamai veikia kapitalą priimančią šaką, o kai kuriais – neigiamai; laikui bėgant bei vykstant ūkio transformacijoms teigiamą TUI poveikį gali pakeisti neigiamas. Apibendrinant galima pasakyti, kad užsienio kapitalo atėjimas į besivystančią šalį neturėtų būti besąlygiškai skatinamas, kadangi tam tikrais atvejais vietinės šalies ekonomikos augimas gali būti stabdomas. Konkurencinių, technologinių bei kitų sąlygų, kuriomis užsienio kapitalas veikia rinkoje, specifika turi didelės įtakos bendram atskirų TUI srautų poveikiui vietinės ekonomikos plėtrai.

The relationship between export and economic growth is still a topic of discussion by researchers. Some studies have confirmed that export leads to economic growth, while others see economic growth leads to export. Many countries are still in a dilemma of whether to open up their economies to promote export or whether they should concentrate on economic activities, which will promote export. This paper has aimed to examine export – growth nexus in the European Union (EU) countries during the period of 1995 – 2015. Descriptive statistics analysis and econometric methods have been applied for this purpose. On the basis of correlation analysis, twenty-two countries have had significant relationships between export and economic growth. Granger causality test has been applied to detect the direction of causality. The research has found unidirectional causality running from export to GDP in Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Sweden. In contrast, unidirectional effects from GDP to export have been detected in eleven the EU countries, such as Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Romania and Slovenia. Moreover, the research also has noticed bidirectional causality in Denmark. That is, GDP causes export and vice versa. Finally, in six countries, such as Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and Malta Granger causality has not been found. It means that export does not cause economic growth and vice versa. The presence of a causal link between export and economic growth has implications of great importance on development strategies for the EU countries.

Women's burnout affects not only the individuals suffering from this condition but also those around them and the organization they work for. This phenomenon spills over into their personal lives and increases the likelihood of work-family conflicts. Organizational, personal, and family circumstances can affect women's burnout. This study aims to determine the influence of perceived organizational support on burnout at work while mediating work-family conflict and moderating sociodemographic factors such as age, romantic relationship status, and number of children. The quantitative study involved 404 employed women aged 18 to 64. A structured questionnaire was distributed via social media or e-mail targeting employed women in Lithuania's public and private sectors. IBM SPSS and a special PROCESS macro were applied to perform a mediation-moderation analysis. The study showed that the direct effect of perceived organizational support is greater than the indirect effect in mediating work-family conflicts. This is true in the case of both general burnout and its separate components. The significant moderating effect of age revealed that younger women aged 18 to 34 experience more burnout than older women. The number of children demonstrated a significant moderating effect between perceived organizational support and burnout and its dimensions for women with two or more kids. No moderating effect of romantic relationship status on the interconnection between perceived organizational support and women's overall burnout or its individual dimensions was found.

Constantly changing technologies, increasing competition, unstable demand of consumers, economic and political changes encourage managers to seek new opportunities abroad and thus, expand their firms' activities. Considering the importance of knowledge in a number of industries, competition is shaped by the firms' intellectual capital. Referring to the intellectual capital theory, the assumption about the importance of intellectual resources in internationalization process is suggested. Grounded on intellectual capital theory and the main aspects of SMEs internationalization the paper aims to reveal the significance of some important factors in internationalization of Lithuanian SMEs. The study is based on expert evaluation method and reports the findings from questioning the representatives of science and business. The internationalization of SMEs is driven by work experience of employees, ability to transmit experience and international orientation of managers. These factors contribute to the development of technical knowledge and strategy development processes. Consequently, obtained technical expertise and strategies lead to the higher reputation of managers in international context. The findings are significant for entrepreneurs having strong intentions to expand their businesses and policy makers, concerning about promotion and support of internationalization processes. The insights into the development of future investigations are suggested.
