Die bisher ungelöste Paradoxie der Erziehung lässt Erziehungswissenschaftlern und Pädagogen, aber auch Philosophen und Lehrkräften im pädagogischen Diskurs der Moderne keine Ruhe. Statt sie nur als Theorieproblem zu bewerten, muss gezeigt werden, inwiefern diese Paradoxie den Kern des Pädagogischen ausmacht und zugleich einen praktischen Sinn erfüllt, der durch Lösungsmodelle verstellt wird. Gefragt wird daher, ob die mit der Alterität und Fremdheit der Adressaten zusammenhängende Paradoxie der Erziehung nicht gerade das »Wesen« des pädagogischen Denkens und Handelns ausmacht, weil sich in ihr die Differenz zwischen dem Technischen und dem Pädagogischen manifestiert. Mit dem Einsatz der Dekonstruktion wird dabei ein Verständnis des Paradoxieproblems ins Spiel gebracht, das es ermöglicht, sowohl das Pädagogische anders zu denken, als auch jenseits technischer Handlungsrationalität der ethischen Dimension der pädagogischen Aufgabe wieder gerecht zu werden. Hierbei wird die Allgemeine Erziehungswissenschaft als Ort einer unverzichtbaren und nicht abschließbaren Problematisierung des Pädagogischen ausgewiesen.
