AbstractIn educational materials about the reality of gender violence among teenagers, there are many explicit and implicit choices when constructing the subjects. This study analyses how the figures of victim and aggressor are constructed, in relation to three aspects: the construction of the aggressor‐victim binomial in relation to gender; what agency is attributed to women and men in the reproduction or transformation of gender violence; and whether the subjects are presented as falsely universal or as occupying specific positions in relation to other axes of inequality. The fieldwork is based on the study of materials for the prevention of gender violence among youths published in Spain between 2010 and 2020, which illustrate different discursive frameworks present in the context. Mainstream materials establish the male aggressor/female victim binomial but leave room to show other subjective positions of teenage boys and girls. Moreover, they create 'the paradox of agency' since all responsibility is attributed to the men in the maintenance of a violent relationship, but in the resolution of the violent situation, all responsibility is attributed to women. Intersectionality was named in the majority of texts but heterosexual, cisgender, and autochthonous subjects tended to be constructed as falsely universal, under the pretext of wanting to avoid stigmatising specific social groups.

The growing interest in the incorporation of intersectionality in public policies, combined with the lack of tools, entails two risks: the rhetoric use of the term and its depoliticization. The present article seeks to analyse the obstacles and facilitating factors for intersectional mainstreaming in the local administration, based on the study case of Terrassa City Council (Spain), which spearheaded a European project to promote bringing intersectionality to local policies. The article, based on the analysis of 16 interviews, and the responses of 4 questionnaires and 13 reports, identifies three challenges: the lack of definition, lack of applicability and complexity of the intersectional perspective; the clash between the dynamics of the public administration and the intersectional proposal; and the segmented structure of the administration. Each challenge is associated with opportunities and specific proposals that emerged in the fieldwork.

L'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS) et l'Association de psychiatrie américaine (APA) établissent que la non-correspondance entre le sexe et le genre constitue un trouble mental, également connu comme « trouble de l'identité de genre ». Dans l'État espagnol, en 2007, le gouvernement a légiféré sur cette question et avec l'entrée en vigueur de la loi 3/2007, il est désormais nécessaire de présenter un certificat prouvant l'existence de ce trouble mental pour pouvoir changer la mention du sexe dans les documents officiels. Cet article vise à analyser le discours des institutions qui régulent la pathologisation de la transsexualité, celui des professionnel·le·s de la santé qui mènent à terme le processus de diagnostic ainsi que le point de vue des patient·e·s transsexuel·le·s qui s'y soumettent. Les auteurs mettent en évidence des contradictions cruciales dans le discours médico-légal, et montrent comment celui-ci revient à légitimer la violence du genre normatif sur les corps et les subjectivités des personnes transsexuelles.

El siguiente artículo presenta dos debates teóricos, la distinción entre sexo y género, y entre violencia y agresión, para analizar el modo en el que éstos se encuentran presentes en la Ley integral de medidas contra la violencia de género. Desgranaremos las consecuencias que comportan las concepciones de violencia y género implícitas en la Ley, así como el modelo de relaciones que contribuye a reproducir. ; This article introduces two theoretical discussions, the distinction between sex and gender and between violence and aggression, in order to analyse them in the Framework Law on integrated protection measures against gender violence. We show the consequences of the definitions of violence and gender in that law, which contribute to reproduce the present relationship system.
