Alexander George's analysis of the experience of the Federal Communications Commission in analyzing Nazi propaganda broadcasts during the War (PROPAGANDA ANALYSIS; A STUDY OF INFERENCES MADE FROM NAZI PROPAGANDA IN D WORLD WAR II) shows: (1) good intelligence insights can be obtained by the analysis of totalitarian propaganda, (2) the methods of content analysis appropriate to intelligence work are diff from those appropriate to sci. The reviewer suggests that methods of contingency analysis now being developed by content analysts are more promising for the sci'fic study of verbal behavior than are simple frequency methods.
