Purpose: The article aims to analyze relations between the direction of production of agricultural enterprises in the European Union and the level of investment in the years 2005-2018. As the research hypothesis assumed, the directions of agricultural enterprises' production in the European Union influence their level of investment. The additional aim is to draw attention to the most critical issues reflecting the significance of finances in investment decisions of agricultural enterprises. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study covers all the European Union member countries. The one-factor analysis of variance ANOVA was used to achieve the research objective. Findings: The studies prove that agricultural enterprises' directions in the European Union substantially diversify their values of the investment level. The most significant differences in the investment level were observed between the agricultural enterprises specializing in granivores and milk and the plant production agricultural enterprises. Practical Implications: The investment activities of agricultural enterprises result from their market activity and modernization of their assets. Decisions made by enterprises depend on their financial resources and have a significant impact on their development opportunities. The growth of owned fixed assets or the improvement of their quality may substantially contribute to the increase of the production potential of agricultural enterprises involved in plant production and animal production. Originality/Value: The existing literature does not present a detailed differentiation of the level of investment in individual types of farms, in line with the FADN methodology. ; peer-reviewed

Positive answer to the research problem may stem from the first years of membership of the European Union structures and transition of businesses to the next stages of development, using their strengths and all the opportunities that arise from the operation in a turbulent environment. The study covered the level of knowledge management funding in enterprises, the creation of innovative actions and results of measures of their performance and economic growth in the perspective of the company value. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of knowledge management and diffusion of innovation on competitiveness improvement of the food industry enterprises in Poland. The aim paved the concept and operationalization of the research towards identification of the relationship between expenditures on knowledge management and diffusion of innovation and raising of competitiveness of food industry enterprises in Poland. The study of the relationships is also apparent from the fact that in the postaccession period there has been observed a continuous development of food industry enterprises and their recapitalization that led to a higher position in the local, national and international market. Przeprowadzone rozważania pozwoliły na udzielenie odpowiedzi, jak klaster transgraniczny wykorzystujący w szerokim zakresie technologie ICT wpływa na poziom konkurencyjności i innowacyjności firm turystycznych wchodzących w jego struktury. ; Summary: The paper considers the social changes and economic trends that influence tourism in to a significant extent. An analysis on clustering in Poland and the European Union has been carried out. The aim of the article was to define the benefits derived from the cooperation of the firms operating within the transborder tourist cluster based on the wide application of information and communication technologies (ICT). Poszczególne części opracowania opisują istotę i znaczenie usług doradczych, powiązanie systemu doradztwa rolniczego z zasadami wzajemnej zgodności, analizę efektywności narzędzia 114 PROW oraz charakterystykę działań wybranej instytucji akredytowanej do świadczenia usług doradczych w ramach FAS. Na podstawie zebranych danych można wysunąć wniosek, że FAS jest ważnym instrumentem WPR wspierającym rolników w spełnianiu wymogów wzajemnej zgodności oraz kreowaniu nowoczesnego i konkurencyjnego rolnictwa, jednak wymaga zmian organizacyjno – prawnych, które pozwolą lepiej wykorzystać środki publiczne przeznaczone na finansowanie usług doradczych. ; Summary: The article presents farm advisory system (FAS) in Poland established to support farmers seeking to meet the European Union cross-compliance requirements. Particular sections of the study describe the essence and importance of advisory services, the link between the farm advisory system and cross-compliance rules, financing of advisory services within 114 Rural Development Programmes 2007–2013 and the evaluation of effectiveness of this tool. The analysis of the collected data shows that FAS is an important instrument of the common agricultural policy which supports farmers in meeting cross-compliance requirements and creating modern and competitive agriculture, however, it requires organizational and legal changes which will allow better use of public funds intended to finance advisory services. ; Krzysztof Firlej

Please visit: http://krzysztoffirlej.pl/ ; The article presents the extent to which knowledge management, and most of all human capital, has raising effect on the competitiveness of Polish enterprises of food industry, which was observed especially during our country's full accession to the European Union. The main aim of the study was to analyze how knowledge resources and especially the quality of human capital in food enterprises can affect their development, organization, how it is used in the management unit, and whether the management of resources is proper. Also the issue of external conditions constraining influence on the functioning of these enterprises in the Malopolska province in the last three years was raised. Conclusions of the research have been recognized and supported by previously synthetically conducted: query of literature sources, analysis of statistical data, a questionnaire survey in selected enterprises of food industry, and the results were presented in graphical form and tables. Research conducted and presented results have helped to develop the following conclusions: Company management is still considered to be sufficient, by both managers and workers who say they see no need for changes in this area; Current strategies and visions of enterprises are well known to the managers and employees, what should lead to an increase in companies competitiveness, not only in local markets, but also international; In food enterprises of the Malopolska province, modernization of machinery, placing and management of new products and services are rare actions. ; W artykule przedstawiono w jakim stopniu zarządzanie wiedzą, a przede wszystkim posiadany kapitał ludzki wpływają na podnoszenie poziomu konkurencyjności polskich przedsiębiorstw przemysłu spożywczego, co szczególnie zostało zauważone w okresie pełnej akcesji naszego kraju do Unii Europejskiej. Głównym celem przeprowadzonych badań była analiza, w jaki sposób zasoby wiedzy, a przede wszystkim jakość kapitału ludzkiego w przedsiębiorstwach spożywczych mogą wpływać na ich rozwój, organizację, jak wykorzystuje się go w zarządzaniu jednostką oraz czy prawidłowe jest zarządzanie posiadanymi zasobami. Wnioskowanie z przeprowadzonych badań zostało ujęte syntetycznie, ale zostało podparte wcześniej przeprowadzonymi: kwerendą źródłową literatury, analizą danych statystycznych, badaniem kwestionariuszowym w wybranych przedsiębiorstwach przemysłu spożywczego, a wyniki zaprezentowane w formie graficznej i tabelarycznej. Przeprowadzone badania pomogły opracować następujące wnioski: 1. sposób zarządzania firmą jest wciąż uważany za wystarczający, zarówno przez kadrę zarządzającą, jak i pracowników, którzy deklarują, że nie widzą potrzeby zmian w tym obszarze; 2. obecne strategie i wizje funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw są dobrze znane przez kadrę zarządzającą i pracowników, co powinno prowadzić do wzrostu ich konkurencyjności, nie tylko na rynkach lokalnych, ale i międzynarodowych; 3. w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłu rolno – spożywczego w województwie małopolskim rzadko występują działania w obszarze modernizacji parku maszynowego, wprowadzania na rynek nowych produktów i usług; 4. respondenci bardzo wysoko ocenili poziom jakości kwalifikacji i umiejętności zatrudnionych pracowników, co miało miejsce zarówno w pierwszym, jak i drugim etapie badania. ; Krzysztof Firlej

The paper presents issues related to milk production in the Member States of the European Union. The conducted analysis and research cover the period from 2015 to 2019. The study evaluates milk production and milk prices and uses the linear Pearson's correlation in order to find out whether there is a correlation between milk prices in the individual European Union Member States. The research demonstrated that the market value of milk produced in Poland increases every year and that there is a strong and very strong correlation between individual milk prices in the Member States amounting to 85% of all surveyed entities. ; W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z produkcją mleka w państwach członkowskich Unii Europejskiej. Przeprowadzona analiza oraz badania dotyczą okresu od 2015 do 2019 roku. Dokonano oceny produkcji i cen mleka oraz przeprowadzono badanie korelacji liniowej Pearsona w celu uzyskania odpowiedzi, czy istnieje współzależność cen mleka w poszczególnych krajach Unii Europejskiej. Badania dowiodły, że wartość rynkowa wyprodukowanego mleka w Polsce corocznie wzrasta, oraz że istnieje silna oraz bardzo silna zależność między poszczególnymi cenami mleka w państwach członkowskich, wynosząca 85% wszystkich badanych podmiotów.
