El humanitarismo se ha consolidado como un pilar de la gobernanza global. El apoyo a las víctimas de todo tipo de emergencias en cualquier parte del mundo es un suceso hoy por hoy común, casi cotidiano, símbolo de un compromiso compartido para con la humanidad sin importar fronteras. Desde sus orígenes en la abolición de la esclavitud y la creación de la Cruz Roja, el alcance del humanitarismo ha venido expandiéndose hasta ser acogido en el seno de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) después del fin de la Guerra Fría. Sin embargo, este proceso ha mantenido desde sus comienzos un sesgo colonial, según el cual las crisis humanitarias ocurren en el Sur, mientras que el Norte viene al rescate. Es por ello que lo humanitario no ha sido siempre bien visto desde la periferia, considerado a veces como rescoldo de ambiciones imperiales y justificación para intervenciones con intereses particulares. De esta manera, el humanitarismo en el Sur ha resultado en resistencia y visiones alternativas de lo que constituye o no una crisis, la acción necesaria para afrontarlas y los tipos de cooperación que se necesitan o se aceptan. En este sentido, Latinoamérica es una fuente importante de lecciones sobre el futuro de lo humanitario, no solo por los dos siglos de experiencia defendiendo su independencia, sino también porque en la región coexisten las crisis y las capacidades para cooperar en su respuesta de Sur a Sur. Si aceptamos que tal coexistencia de crisis y capacidad es la "nueva normalidad" en el resto del planeta, la experiencia latinoamericana ofrece un ejemplo de re-creación de las instituciones humanitarias, haciéndolas más incluyentes y relevantes, a la vez que nuevas vulnerabilidades se hacen evidentes.

La contratación de las entidades sin ánimo de lucro con el Estado Colombiano es un tema con varios antecedentes históricos y con una regulación normativa precaria que parte del Artículo 355 de la Constitución Nacional de 1991, pasando por los decretos 777 de 1992 y 1403 de 1992, por lo que la tales normas nacieron a la vida jurídica antes de la ley 80 de 1993, asemejándose a una contratación directa, sin ser una causal taxativa, con un régimen propio, que abrió la puerta a la contratación con particulares sin agotar las etapas propias de la escogencia de contratistas y no se ha creado un procedimiento claro que permita entender su aplicación, razón por la cual este trabajo busca analizar el alcance de los convenios de asociación y sus características desde el estatuto contractual, pasando por la selección objetiva, evidenciando las posibles controversias en el ejercicio de tal modalidad y llegando a un caso particular de contratación en una Alcaldía Local del Distrito Capital (Kennedy). ; The contracting of non-profit entities with the Colombian Estate is a topic with any historical antecedents and a poor law, the law begins with the Constitution in its article 355, after the decrees 777 of 1992 and 1403 of 1992, so that such rules were born to legal life before the law 80 of 1993, it is like a direct contracting, without to be, it has a own status, it open the door to private contracting without to use the contratacting estate`stages to choose the contractors and the Colombian Estate hasn`t created a clear process to the people understand the application, for this reason this written looks for to analyze the extent of the association agreement and their characteristics since contractual status through objective selection. In addressing humanitarian crises, the international community has long understood the need to extend beyond providing immediate relief, and to engage with long-term recovery activities and the prevention of similar crises in the future. However, this continuum from short-term relief to rehabilitation and development has often proved difficult to achieve. This book aims to shed light on the continuum of humanitarian crisis management, particularly from the viewpoint of major bilateral donors and agencies. Focusing on cases of armed conflicts and disasters, the authors describe the evolution of approaches and lessons learnt in practice when moving from emergency relief to recovery and prevention of future crises. Drawing on an extensive research project conducted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency Research Institute, this book compares how a range of international organizations, bilateral cooperation agencies, NGOs, and research institutes have approached the continuum in international humanitarian crisis management. The book draws on six humanitarian crises case studies, each resulting from armed conflict or natural disasters: Timor-Leste, South Sudan, the Syrian crisis, Hurricane Mitch in Honduras, the Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia, and Typhoon Yolanda. The book concludes by proposing a common conceptual framework designed to appeal to different stakeholders involved in crisis management. Following on from the World Humanitarian Summit, where a new way of working on the humanitarian-development nexus was highlighted as one of five major priority trends, this book is a timely contribution to the debate which should interest researchers of humanitarian studies, conflict and peace studies, and disaster risk-management.

This book reveals how the idea of human security, combined with other human-centric norms, has been embraced, criticized, modified and diffused in East Asia (ASEAN Plus Three). Once we zoom in to the regional space of East Asia, we can see a kaleidoscopic diversity of human security stakeholders and their values. Asian stakeholders are willing to engage in the cultural interpretation and contextualization of human security, underlining the importance of human dignity in addition to freedom from fear and from want. This dignity element, together with national ownership, may be the most important values added in the Asian version of human security

Purpose
As UN's sustainable development goals (SDGs) are integrated across Asia-Pacific Higher Education Institutes (HEIs), the purpose of this descriptive and exploratory study is to investigate undergraduates' own self-stated commitment to the SDGs and their perceived feasibility by the 2030 target.


Design/methodology/approach
A mixed-methodology approach covered quantitative and qualitative approaches facilitated by purposive selection of an Asia-Pacific HEI via a Japanese liberal arts college where a questionnaire survey was administered in Autumn 2021. Responses were monitored from freshmen students in twin courses within the same major (introduction to "Environment" and "Development" studies, respectively; n = 177) that both integrated SDGs within their respective curricula.


Findings
Students in both classes rated the SDGs as a useful learning tool but were sceptical of their feasibility by 2030. A self-stated commitment was high, especially among environment studies students. Multiple regression was run to predict SDGs commitment from gender, major, perceived SDGs' usefulness and feasibility. These variables partially predicted SDGs commitment but only gender and major variables added statistical significance. Moreover, the same variables were less equivocal in terms of predicting the self-stated belief that the SDGs could be achieved by 2030.


Practical implications
The findings can inform instructors of students' perceptions towards SDGs. Significant differences raise academic and applied discussion points, such as how to engage male students, for example, by setting up sustainability "business case" practicums.


Originality/value
As global HEIs grapple with effective ways to vertically integrate SDGs into a university's curriculum, students' opinions are often underrepresented. This paper's originality and value address these gaps by exploring a holistic student-centric perspective on SDGs in the context of commitment. This paper also has implications for more effective cross-curricula integration of the SDGs.

La contestación a esta pregunta, lejos de carecer de complejidad, ha hecho correr ríos de tinta, pues en el fondo tras ella subyace la problemática cuestión sobre si en el Antiguo Régimen hubo auténticas revoluciones que pretendían cambiar el sistema o, como hoy se tiende a pensar, más bien simples revueltas de impactos limitados, que solían afectar como mucho a la urbe en que se desplegasen, a las tierras de alrededor y, excepcionalmente, a poblaciones con algún tipo de relación económica o política. En este trabajo se intentan aclarar algunas de las claves de las revueltas en el siglo XV, centrándose en la ocurrida en Toledo en 1449. ; Is it possible that what happened in a single city in the Middle Ages could stir up a territory and cause the Monarchy�s embarrassment? The answer to that question has given rise to an important discussion, because at the background there lies the problematic issue of whether during the Ancient Regime there were genuine revolutions that tried to change the system or, as we tend to think nowadays, they were simply limited-impact revolts that at most affected the city where they took place, its surrounding territories and, exceptionally, certain towns that had economic or political ties with those cities. In this paper we try to clarify some of the keys to 15th century revolts, focusing on one of the most important among such uprisings, which took place in Toledo in 1449.

This work, in synthesis, is about the exercise of good corporate management practice. The systematic nature of administration, alignment, strategy and skills in the metal mining sector in peru, influence of the Resource and Capacity development theory. We also deal with the value chain, competitive advantages, strategies and skills in the metal mining activity and mining strata. From the development of these points, we set up as conclusions that all formal, legal or illegal strata coexist somehow because the legal ones can export all production. On the other hand, it is required a strategy, promotion, planning and specialized professional leadership in this industry. At the same time, it is required that the government support all this effort and the centers of technical and vocational training in geology, mining, metallurgy, chemistry and related competences define and design formation competence to provide the specialized human capital sector. ; Este trabajo, en síntesis, trata del ejercicio de buenas prácticas de gestión empresarial. El carácter sistémico de la administración, la alineación, la estrategia y habilidades en el sector de la minería metálica en el Perú, la influencia de la teoría de recursos y desarrollo de capacidades. También nos ocupamos de la cadena de valor, las ventajas competitivas, las estrategias y habilidades en la actividad minera metálica y estratos mineras. Desde el desarrollo de estos puntos, hemos creado como conclusiones que todos los estratos formales, legales o ilegales coexisten alguna manera, porque los legales pueden exportar toda la producción. Por otra parte, se requiere una estrategia, promoción, planificación y liderazgo profesional especializado en esta industria. Al mismo tiempo, es necesario que el apoyo del gobierno todo el esfuerzo y los centros de formación técnica y profesional en geología, minería, metalurgia, química y afines competencias definir y diseñar la formación de competencias para proporcionar el sector especializado del capital humano.

La demanda de energía eléctrica ha aumentado considerablemente en los últimos años, pero el uso de fuentes de energía no renovables tienen un negativo impacto ambiental, lo que hace necesario que se desarrollen nuevas tecnologías para el uso de fuentes de energía renovables y limpias como la energía eólica. Este Artículo es una revisión de las más recientes tecnologías desarrolladas para el manejo de energías provenientes de fuentes renovables y el uso de sistemas electrónicos de potencia en ellas.

Inga edulis es una especie ampliamente utilizada como sombrío en la zona cafetera de Colombia. En esta in-vestigación se estudió la fenología de esta especie en un agroecosistema ganadero y otro cafetero del departa-mento del Quindío entre julio de 2005 y junio de 2006. Se realizaron observaciones mensuales de las fenofases vegetativa y reproductiva, se marcaron flores con el fin de observar la duración de los eventos reproductivos y describir el proceso de antésis. Inga edulis presentó todas las fenofases reproductivas y vegetativas, aunque la caída de follaje no fue evidente. En ambos agroecosistemas los árboles presentaron dos periodos de floración con una duración de 4 a 6 meses, mientras que la fructificación, la brotación y la caída del follaje fueron cons-tantes. La intensidad de algunas fenofases mostró una coincidencia con la precipitación. Nuestros resultados muestran diferencias en el periodo de antésis y sincronía de las fenofases con respecto a otros estudios en el Neotrópico, lo que sugiere una posible variación fenológica a lo largo de su distribución geográfica.

Las redes de niebla han sido utilizadas como un método importante para realizar inventarios de aves en varios hábitats neotropicales, pero su efectividad con respecto a otros métodos como los puntos de conteo, no ha sido evaluada extensivamente. Este trabajo compara la efectividad de las redes de niebla y del método de puntos de conteo en la determinación de la diversidad de aves en un bosque montano de los Andes centrales de Colombia. Durante 6 meses en un bosque montano del departamento de Quindío, con un esfuerzo de captura de 2630 horas red se registraron 608 individuos de 81 especies. Con el método de puntos de conteo encontraron 106 especies. Sin embargo, 31 especies fueron detectadas solo por capturas en redes. La mayor tasa de captura ocurrió durantelas primeras horas de la mañana y al medio día (06:00-09:00 h y de 12:00-13:00h) mientras que en la tarde la tasa de captura disminuyó. Concluimos que por el método de puntos de conteo existe una mayor probabilidad en llevar a cabo un inventario representativo en menos tiempo, por otro lado el papel de las redes en los inventarios se consideraría complementario, siendo su uso necesario para conseguir otros tipos de información, como mediciones morfológicas, indicios de reproducción y muda.

This panel discussion session explores some of the central dimensions of the Crisis in the Anthropocene that constitute global social challenges in the context of development studies. The conference theme highlighted the profound human impact on our blue-green-brown planet, that is already breaching planetary boundaries and pushing us beyond the roughly 1.5°C tipping point. This threatens liveability and sustainability in many localities and regions and may well rapidly be 'off the scale' of imaginability and survivability. Inevitably, as mounting empirical evidence and increasingly clear projections by the IPCC and other authoritative bodies show, these impacts are unevenly spread, both socially and spatially, both now and over the coming decades. The urgency of appropriate action is undeniable and we already know many dimensions of the required adaptations and transformations. Yet progress mostly remains too slow. These challenges are vital to the development studies community – heterogenous as it is – with our concerns for tackling poverty, inequality, deprivation and environmental degradation globally and locally.
Hence this symposium asks what the crisis means for development theory, policy and practice and what development studies can and should be contributing to – and, indeed, whether it is capable of – addressing some key dimensions that warrant greater attention.
