Most people believe in a statement that 'All men are same', even most men have taken this thing for granted that at the end they are going to be entitled to the same statement. So most of them hardly try to question the basis of the same. A few men engaged in humanities or social sciences are aware of things otherwise most of the men merely step in this tangled zone of masculinity-femininity or the bigger picture as gender. It has been taken for granted that gender studies mean women studies, homosexuality is not even landed yet, there are no such concepts like masculinity/femininity/gender-inequality etc. Without questioning or inquiring the system, blindly believing later following whatever one has been asking to perform is the current state of role-performance of the society. Forget about gender equality. Still, men are not aware of how their deeds disadvantage their female counterparts. The paper investigates the ways in which sex-roles were assigned/imposed, implied and performed and these sex-roles/stereotypes lead to identity assertion, conflict, violence etc. that results into disadvantaging women from their fundamental rights.

A modified continuous-time pursuit-evasion game with multiple pursuers and a single evader is studied. The game has been played in an obstacle-free convex environment which consists an exit gate through which the evader may escape. The geometry of the convex is unknown to all players except pursuers know the location of the exit gate and they can communicate with each other. All players have equal maximum velocities and identical sensing range. An evader is navigating inside the environment and seeking the exit gate to win the game. A novel sweep-pursuit-capture strategy for the pursuers to search and capture the evader under some necessary and sufficient conditions is presented. We also show that three pursuers are sufficient to finish the operation successfully. Non-holonomic wheeled mobile robots of the same configurations have been used as the pursuers and the evader. Simulation studies demonstrate the performance of the proposed strategy in terms of interception time and the distance traveled by the players.

O. V. Vijayan'sThe Saga Of Dharmapuri(1985) is a scathing political satire on a post-independence fictional state called 'Dharmapuri' which lays bare the subtle vile play of state-power and its handlers. It is a satire which comments through grotesque and scatological humour upon the grand promises made during the freedom struggle against the colonizer and how those promises have run aground and faltered in the post-independent state, which still appears like a colony, though not in imperial terms. It is a novel which demonstrates how the current rulers of a sovereign state like Dharmapuri, in the name of progress and liberalism, still maintain the same legacy of exploitation and oppression upon their subjects, and thus serves as an allegorical subtext for the state affairs in any post-independent sovereign state in contemporary times. The novel also touches upon several other issues integral to a 'post-colony' like patriotism, the institutionalization of Presidential decrees by which the subjects have to, in all circumstances, abide by or perish, corporatization of domestic lands and other trades which can be decoded as a reference to the present day Globalization-a nuanced form of colonization or imperialism for which demarcation of borders and boundaries is no more required, and the state-sponsored violence which constantly proves to its subjects that any kind of conspiracy or resistance, internal or external, against the state will be dealt with heavy-handedly.

Since the launch of the reproductive and child health policy regime in 1998-99, there has been a massive rise in government expenditure on family welfare programmes in Bihar and national level. This paper makes a systematic effort to assess the performance of the family welfare programmes vis-à-vis trends in expenditure. The trends in key performance indicators for Bihar reveal that progress has been slow and limited in the post-RCH policy regime. Contraceptive prevalence coverage has accelerated, and the increased in the Child immunization and institutional delivery. Consequently, the pace of reduction in the couple protection rate, total fertility rate and infant mortality rate has slowed. It is evidently clear that in the absence of suitable mechanism to operationalise of RCH programme, the exponential increase in expenditure alone cannot lead to commensurate a positive impact on key performance and outcome indicators. There is need suitable mechanism to operationalise RCH programme.
