Letter from Howard C. Lewis to Harold D. Lewis, 21 May 1969
Howard Lewis writes to his twin brother, Harold Lewis, from Vietnam on 21 May 1969. He is pleased to hear about his brother's new job and wants to know more about it; one of his tanks hit a mine, making six tanks in three months that have been combat lost. He is suffering from lack of sleep and writes about another soldier who has combat fatigue. He is smoking 3-4 packs of cigarettes a day and hoping for rain; he asks for news from home. ; Howard C. Lewis graduated from Norwich University in 1966 with a degree in business administration. Following his graduation, he served in the Army's armored branch and was a cavalry troop commander and battalion staff officer in Vietnam in 1969. Transcription by Edward J. Palmer.
