Feminization of poverty: an analysis of multidimensional poverty among rural women in China
In: Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, Band 11, Heft 1
ISSN: 2662-9992
AbstractFew studies from an individual perspective have analyzed the multidimensional poverty of rural women in China. Therefore, based on the CFPS data from 2010 to 2020 and the Alkire-Foster approach, this study built a six-dimensional system to portray the status of multidimensional poverty among rural women. The overall comparisons found that rural women were more likely to be multidimensional poor than other subgroups. And the results of rural women showed significant demographic and spatio-temporal differences. That is, older rural women were more deprived than younger rural women. Rural women with spouses or confidence were less deprived than those without spouses or confidence, respectively. From the spatial perspective, the censored headcount ratios of rural women in descending order were Western Region, Central Region and Eastern Region. From the temporal perspective, the risk of rural women's multidimensional poverty decreased significantly from 2010 to 2020. The importance of non-material indicators was gradually becoming prominent, including education, health and subjective wellbeing. The conclusions can contribute to the development of policies, even if some limitations need to be further improved.
Analysis of supply chain finance risk assessment based on numerical analysis algorithm
In: 3C empresa: investigación y pensamiento crítico, Band 12, Heft 2, S. 217-234
ISSN: 2254-3376
To promote the coordination and stability of supply chain finance and improve the financing environment of small and medium-sized enterprises, this paper designs a supply chain finance risk assessment and analysis platform. Combining the characteristics of a large amount of risk assessment data, a numerical analysis algorithm is introduced in the process of platform design, and the extrapolation method in the numerical analysis algorithm is used to calculate the risk assessment- related data. To make the calculation faster and the data more accurate, the central difference quotient extrapolation is used to accelerate and a downtime mechanism is introduced. Firstly, the approximation formula for the calculation is constructed, followed by the construction of a sequence of variable steps to obtain a sequence of approximations. Finally, the obtained approximate sequence values are used to construct an interpolating polynomial, and the constant term of the polynomial, which is the final risk factor, is obtained through continuous iteration. To verify the effectiveness of the numerical analysis-based algorithm in supply chain financial risk assessment, the simulation results show that the risk assessment accuracy of the numerical analysis-based supply chain financial risk assessment platform is as high as 99% and the time required is 17 seconds higher than other assessment models, which verifies that the numerical analysis algorithm can improve the accuracy and rapidity of risk assessment.

Integrating supplier innovation in the fuzzy front end: based on an analysis of the task environment
In: The journal of business & industrial marketing, Band 37, Heft 12, S. 2417-2431
ISSN: 2052-1189
PurposeIntegrating supplier innovation is considered an effective strategy to reduce uncertainty at the fuzzy front end (FFE). However, the large number of supplier innovation resources and the task environment forces buying firms to precisely identify more valuable or interesting innovation resources for integration. The impact of the interaction between supplier innovation and task environment on FFE performance needs to be further explored. Therefore, this paper aims to propose a contingency framework to examine the relationship between supplier innovation (technology-push and market-pull) and buying firm's FFE performance in different task environments, with the aim of clarifying which supplier innovation resources should be integrated to create high FFE performance in the face of an uncertain task environment.Design/methodology/approachSurvey data from new product development team leaders in Chinese high-tech firms were collected and analyzed. Furthermore, using multiple regression analysis, the relationship among supplier innovation, task environment and FFE performance was examined.FindingsThe results show that although both technology-push and market-pull supplier innovation can improve FFE performance, there are significant differences between the influences of these two types of supplier innovation in the face of different task environments.Practical implicationsPractical guidelines are provided for buyer managers on how to effectively identify the "best" supplier innovation resources to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of supplier involvement in the FFE.Originality/valueThis paper deepens the knowledge of identifying supplier innovation resources in the FFE and enriches the research on supplier-enable FFE innovation.

Through studying the literature, interpreting official documents, analyzing medical and social management data, we summarized and compared some powerful measures taken by the Chinese government, such as declaring emergency state, blocking down the epidemic center, prohibiting crowd gathering activities, forcing residents to wear masks, and mobilizing medical staff and products. We found that these unconventional measures, on the one hand, controlled the spread of the epidemic in China, and on the other hand, exposed some of China's shortcomings in biosafety, food safety, public health input, and emergency system construction. This paper also recommends that other countries should take strict isolation measures as early as possible when fighting COVID-19 epidemics, and also mobilize citizens to strengthen self-protection.Keywords: COVID-19, anti-epidemic, risk, legality

In the process of controlling the pandemic, many Chinese medical staff (MS) were infected. We used government data, post mortem reports, and the medical literature on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) transmission, as well as prevention-and-control guidelines from the government, hospitals and media, to discuss the main risks factors faced by MS. We suggest that, when dealing with a similar pandemic in the future, guidance on personal protective equipment must be provided and materials reserved in advance. Also, the emergency response of medical institutions should be enhanced, and information shared with other countries facing identical severe challenges. Keywords: COVID-19, exposure, risk, transmission, treatment
