This article discusses the tensions of Human Resources (HR) work in Belarusian IT companies by examining it within the context of an ongoing crisis in the industry. HR workers in Belarusian IT are predominantly female, and various gendered expectations are assigned to them, both formally and informally. Based on the qualitative study conducted in 2021, I examine how care (Fisher & Tronto, 1990), emotional labor (Hochschild, 2012), and intimate labor (Zelizer, 2010) manifest in HR work, regulated by the idea of balancing the interests of different groups and employer branding rationale. HRs have to perform several kinds of emotional work that are not officially part of their job and even can be regarded as unprofessional, but that are nevertheless perceived as unavoidable. I discuss how performing impartiality involves what Hochschild calls deep and surface acting (2012) with several audiences in mind. I argue that the ambiguity of this role is strategic in the sense that it serves the businesses, by allowing them to benefit from emotional labor without acknowledging it.
The purpose of the research. The study characterises the style processes that took place in Ukrainian pop music in the 1990s. The research methodology involves a combination of historical-cultural, systemic, and musical-analytical methods and approaches that made it possible to determine the style parameters of Ukrainian pop music of the 1990s. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that for the first time the basic features of pop music as a direction of variety music were identified and the work of leading Ukrainian pop performers of the 1990s, representing different style branches of pop music, was analysed. Conclusions. Pop music in all areas of variety music is the most difficult for theoretical understanding, including in determining its style parameters. The identification of pop music with popular music, as well as the insufficient development of style categories in the music of mass genres, makes it difficult to characterise pop music as the leading direction of variety music. The work identifies the basic features of pop music, which include hit music, lyricism in its projections on the theme and musical language, mainstream as an orientation towards the most current musical styles and genres, style neutrality as the most unified representation of a musical style. It is noted that Ukrainian pop performers represent various style branches of pop music, including representatives of "pure" pop music (Irina Bilyk), pop-folk or ethno-pop (Ruslana), traditional pop (Oksana Bilozir) and modernised traditional pop (Olexandr Ponomariov). Ukrainian pop music of the 1990s is distinguished by both style diversity and pronounced national specificity, which distinguishes it from the pop music of other countries.
Keywords: Ukrainian variety song of the 1990s, pop music as a direction of variety music, musical style, hit, pop singer.
The article examines the earliest evidence of transmission of Indian and Buddhist ideas. The aim is to outline a schematic mental "map" of the first contacts between Ancient Greece and Europe during the early Middle Ages and India in a socio-cultural and religious-philosophical aspect, without claiming absolute comprehensiveness. The historical-philosophical method was used in order to establish the lines of reception, to discover the specifics of the changes during its transmission and, accordingly, the differences that appeared, and to indicate the historical-philosophical connections and moments of "intersection" of the two traditions under consideration. The proposed article is the beginning of a series of articles that will explore in a similar manner the development of the "Indian thread" in Europe until the flowering of mature Indology in the 18th century, as until now there is no similar presentation in the Bulgarian language. The aim is not to bring to the fore a supposed influence on Christianity, nor to debate which came first, but only to show that familiarity with Indian philosophy-religious reality is not something that appears 'suddenly'. The study of the historical-philosophical context of each of the periods would provide clarity on the level of familiarity and the method of reception and interpretation of the "new knowledge" on which to base texts on East-West dialogue in modern times.

The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of lexical-semantic interference of the English and French languages in the Middle Ages. The author indicates the relevance and significance of the research topic. A brief terminological analysis of the category «interference» is carried out, which results in the fact that at the lexical level and in the interlingual context, this phenomenon manifests itself as a result of a wide range of methods for formulating one concept in different languages, as a result of which a divergence in categories is noted. The author's interest in studying interference in the French and English languages in a diachronic aspect is due to the fact that the vocabulary of a language always reflects the history of its people. The emphasis on the problem of borrowing from French into English in the 10th–15th centuries was made due to the fact that significant historical and social events took place in the relationship between France and Britain, which could not but be reflected in the cultural and linguistic development of the latter. Focusing on the practice of language interference caused by historical and social factors, an analysis of historical events and prerequisites is carried out, as a result of which the results of the influence of the French language on English during the Middle Ages are clarified (using examples of professionalisms). Based on the results of the study and the independent selection of French equivalents for English words, the author concludes that lexical-semantic interference in this era manifested itself in the movement of similar lexical units into another language by modifying them according to the phonetic or graphic model of their language. As a rule, such a deviation from the language norm is the most frequent, since the transformation of words occurs according to the same principle as in the native language.
Published first in 1969, Diary by E. B. B. (1831–1832) has been an intersection of scholarly debates on nineteenth-century English literature, femininity, diurnal narrative, and aesthetic experience. A confessional document of the last two years of Elizabeth's life at the family estate of Hope End, the diary throws her unique self-creationist and self-revisionary impulses into relief. It is an outstanding prose-fiction piece of evidence of her overall penchant for self-acclaim by way of self-denial. This paper aims at tracing the development of the woman writer in view of the immediacy and ontological priority of an implied Other found at the core of self-writing, as Elizabeth's diary signals. A modicum of contextual references to some of E. B. Browning's poetical works brings out her self-reflexive leanings. Finally, it could be argued that self-questioning distinguishes Elizabeth Barrett Browning as a polemicist whose private diary identifies the concept of time as the kernel of her perception of identity as responsibility.
In 1963 Michel Foucault writes that his book "The Birth of the Clinic" is about space, language, and death, about perception. There is a shift of societal problems to the field of medicine, in other words, modernity formulates some social problems through medical categories. But in fact, questions that seem purely medical are often a product of social factors. In society, medicine is a conservative force that maintains the status quo and distracts from major threats to human health. The growth of individualism, the desire for autonomy, and the decline of religiosity allow discussions around death, tolerance of mystery, and euthanasia. For example, in Canada, 2021 marks five full years of access to medical assistance in dying. In 2021, there were 10 064 cases, bringing the total number to 31 664. Annual growth continues to increase steadily each year. Are the major religions capable of facing that challenge?

The relevance of the study is determined by the need to perfect the evaluation of the efficiency of scientific and educational activities of the country's higher education institutions and determine the causes of inefficiency. The purpose of this study was to improve the evaluation of the efficiency of scientific publication activities of agrarian higher education institutions of Ukraine using the Data Envelopment Analysis method. The study was conducted according to the general heuristic method, the authors also employed mathematical and statistical methods of processing and analysis of input and output data, computer methods for the implementation of research tasks and abstract-logical methods for determining the degree of relevance, formulation of conclusions. The study substantiated the feasibility of using the non-parametric method of Data Envelopment Analysis to evaluate the efficiency of the scientific and educational activities of higher education institutions, as well as the feasibility of using Voluntary Retirement Services and Compulsory Retirement Service models, which are input-oriented, to evaluate the technical, purely technical, large-scale efficiency of scientific publication activity. Based on statistical information for 2020-2021, the technical, purely technical, large-scale efficiency of the scientific publication activity of 38 agricultural institutions of higher education of Ukraine were evaluated using the Data Envelopment Analysis method. According to the results of calculations, 18% of the educational institutions under study have the maximum value of technical and large-scale efficiency. The average technical efficiency is 0.6, the average pure technical efficiency – 0.7, and the average scale efficiency – 0.85. The analysis of the estimated values of relative efficiency allowed identifying the reasons for the inefficiency of each higher education institution under study, including suboptimal use of educational resources and an unbalanced scale of activity. Based on the study results, a rating of agrarian institutions of higher education in Ukraine in terms of the efficiency of scientific publication activities was compiled, which can be used as an addition to conventional ratings for analysing scientific and educational activities. The results of this study can be used to rank higher educational institutions by efficiency, to find the reasons for their ineffective activities
