History of the acceptance of M.M. Bakhtin's theory of the "polyphonic novel" and its revision

As a Russian literary theorist, M.M. Bakhtin not only contributed greatly to the development of Russian structuralist semiotics, but also holds an important place in the international literary community. This article attempts to sort out the history of the acceptance of Bakhtin's theory in Russia, Europe and China, and to reconstruct the original shape of Bakhtin's theory of the "polyphonic novel" on the basis of a revision of his theory.
