This collection analyses the concept of minority and minorities in global history. Taking transnational, transregional and comparative approaches, it explores narratives of inclusion and exclusion both conceptually and through case studies. Exploring examples of marginalization in Imperial Russia, early-20th century Korea, WWII China and Postcolonial Africa amongst others, the chapters in this volume seek to understand the entanglements of fluid minorities and native populations in various historical settings. They explore dynamics between nation states and empires, minority-majority processes in (post)imperial and (post)Soviet contexts, fourth world perspectives and transnational minority movements. Taken together, the contributions to this collection address the exposure to and challenge of historical and contemporary treatments of marginalization, exclusion, belonging and inclusion in global history

Albania came out of World War I in an economic – political difficult situation. State institutions lack of consolidation and the difficult living conditions in which was the population, adding even more the future uncertainty of this small state. Furthermore, Albania is not yet recognized by other states and the League of Nations as an independent state with full and equal rights. This small state during the years 20 ' occupied an area of 27,539. 10 km2 and had a population of 803 959 inhabitants. As belonged to the territorial organization and administrative division, it was divided in 9 prefectures, 31 sub-prefectures and 80 provinces. Its population belonged to three different religious faiths: Muslim, Catholic and Orthodox. The number of residents who claimed to belong to the religion of Islam was about 529,694, and those who belonged to the Orthodox religion were 168 215 and those who belonged to the Catholic religion were 96,050 . But related to the ethnic composition of the population, the Albanian state is presented as homogeneouswhere national minorities occupied a small percentage, no more than 10%. The small presence of minority in Albanian territory probably was also one of the reasons that explain the reason for the lack of labor conflicts with ethnic character. Minorities that were identified as non-Albanian minorities were divided into ethno-cultural and national minorities. In the first group were included Rom and Vlachs, while on the second group were included: Montenegrin minorities, Macedonian and Greek national minorities.

The rates of domestic violence and femicide in various European countries tend to be higher among migrant women, as well as among women from cultural minorities. This led to the development of a culture and gender-sensitive in-depth interview guide aimed at better understanding this phenomenon, as well as identifying specific aspects of the experience of violence in a foreign scenario. The first stage was developing a draft interview guide based on the most important issues addressed in the professional literature, relating both to victims of domestic violence and to survivors of femicide and their families. This has allowed others to "hear their voices" and to understand their own perspectives, which are especially important considering the steady increase of this phenomenon around the world. The second phase was a pilot study among immigrant femicide survivors: first in Spain, later in Romania, and finally in Georgia, focusing on internally displaced people. The last step was analyzing the feedback from the different countries, which led to a refined and improved version of the interview guide. Thus, the current paper presents an ongoing process leading to a standardized interview guide, which could be adapted to local socio-cultural contexts, enabling comparative studies across Europe.

The article deals with the phenomenon of national identity which is increasingly perceived as a crucial factor to unite the society, to ensure the citizens' involvement in implementation of public policy's objectives of the socio-political development and to hinder social disintegration. It is noted that a sense of common, supranational identity is spreading in the minds of the EU countries' residents. However, as the author argues, the situation is still far from the expectations of the pan-Europeans. Moreover, it looks like that the progress of the pan-Europeanism has reached a certain limit. The problem of overcoming it becomes more and more complex.
