An exploration of Friedrich Neitzsche's transvaluation of values, investigating his attacks on the Western humanist tradition of realism, rationalism, & moralism. Nietzsche's image of the wanderer is an appropriate remedy for Western nihilism because this postmodern creation is more deeply rooted in the world than the humanist tradition had permitted. It is concluded that Nietzsche's lesson for postmodernity lies in his radical revision of humanism. D. Schwartz
