The objective of the present study was to perform a meta-analysis that compared the chemical composition of corn silage produced for different experimental purposes, i.e., by research groups that studied corn silage (SCS) or by research groups that only used corn silage (UCS) as a form of roughage. We analyzed 203 papers that were published between January 1994 and December 2014 and contained a total of 647 treatments and the analysis of 1701 silos. We found a significant difference (P < 0.0001) in the dry matter (DM) content of SCS silage (33.00%) and that of UCS silage (30.64%). The DM contents of neutral detergent fiber for the SCS and UCS silage were high (54.72 and 55.14% DM, respectively) but were not significantly different from one another (P = 0.5936), and the acid detergent fiber content of the UCS silage (31.04% DM) was higher than that of the SCS silage (29.65%, P = 0.0214), which indicated that the UCS silage was less digestible than the SCS silage. This was also corroborated (P = 0.0064) by the mean content of total digestible nutrients (64.18% DM) in the UCS silage, which likely results from the lower level of care taken when using standard silage production methods, compared to that taken by SCS researchers. Therefore, we concluded that the corn silage produced by research groups in Brazil are not analyzed in full and that, as a result, there is a paucity of important information, such as the content of organic acids. In addition, we also found that corn silage produced in Brazil contains a high level of neutral detergent fiber.

Significant efforts are made to revive scientific thinking,to require coordination through the application of the holistic elements of al-Qur'ān's scientific thinking. Therefore, methods in the scientific research of the Qur'ān were adapted according to the times and the development of civilizations. Hence, the current scientific study of the Qur'ān focused on the historiography to see its overall development. This study discussed the concept of scientific thought of the Qur'ān and its importance to the I'jāz of the Qur'ān. Additionaly, the scholars' position in emphasizing the scientific study of the Qur'ān was also presented in this research. Moreover, the adopted method of analysis was library research, which examined the relevant written research materials. The analysis illustrated that the Qur'ānic scientific methodology included divine science based on the I'jāz al-Ilāhī, social science based on the I'jāz al-Tashrī'ī,and natural science based on the I'jāz al-'Ilmī and the development history offered comparisons of thoughts, which emerged during the Islamic civilization. Such Qur'ānic scientific methodology has led/conducted a deeper understanding of the Qur'ān and brought its study/interpretations to the public. Thus, this study is significant for exhibiting the importance of deepening the conceptual connection developed in the Qur'ānic scientific study with its historical development. This is to enable the application of epistemological thinking through scientific thinking in fulfilling human needs and the universal universe carefully and harmoniously.

In the conditions of deep social transformations in the Ukrainian village, monographic researches at local level (streets, villages, cities, districts) are gaining popularity. The Ukrainian village of the beginning of the XXI century was going through a period of changes, its social and household features and its economic specifics had not been formed yet. Therefore, local research at this stage is relevant and effective. It is emphasized that during the 1920s and 1930s, various local monographic studies were conducted independently in different countries (the United States, Russia, Poland, Hungary, and Romania). Ukrainian ethnologists were faced with the acute problem of studying and understanding the cultural and everyday features of different local groups and identifying the complex links between them at the regional and national levels. The author focuses on the activities of the ethnographic centers of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. It was its members who substantiated and used the method of stationary research of local areas in their research work. The stationary method of field ethnography, is analyzed as the main one in the collection and systematization of factual material for monographic research. The further development of this technique in the 1940s–1950s is presented.

A vast array of research institutes and cultural organizations began to study the viewer of Soviet cinema and theatre in the years following the October Revolution. These investigations called on the techniques of sociology, psychology, and physiology to make Soviet cultural production more "efficient" and "rational." Belying the conventional assumption that the cultural revolution of 1928–1932 brought empirical research in aesthetics to an abrupt end, this paper traces the continuation and redefinition of studies of the viewer in the Soviet Union after the "Great Break." My analysis of the work of the "Scientific Research Sector" at the State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) between 1933 and 1936 outlines how Stalin-era researchers shifted their gaze from viewers' tastes and attitudes to questions of perceptual management and effectiveness. Exploring the VGIK researchers' attempts to determine the "laws" of aesthetic perception and optimize intelligibility, the article brings to light the developments in scientific knowledge underwriting Soviet culture's transition to a form "accessible to the millions."

Das vorliegende Sieben-Punkte-Papier enthält Einschätzungen des Zentralinstitutes für Jugendforschung der DDR aufgrund von Forschungsergebnissen über die Haltung der Jugendlichen der DDR zu Krieg und Frieden. Im einzelnen enthält die Schrift folgende Hauptthesen: (1) Ein großer Teil der Jugendlichen der DDR stellt eine direkte Beziehung her zwischen ihren Vorstellungen vom Sinn ihres Lebens und dem Kampf um die Erhaltung des Friedens. (2) Die sozialistische Friedenspolitik trägt in bedeutendem Maße zur Identifikation der Jugendlichen mit dem Sozialismus bei. (3) Die meisten der Jugendlichen schätzen die gegenwärtige internationale Lage realistisch ein: Noch nie seit Ende des Weltkrieges war der Weltfriede so bedroht wie gegenwärtig. (4) Die Jugend besitzt eine gefestigte Grundhaltung gegenüber dem Imperialismus als System: Er ist derjenige, der den Frieden gefährdet. (5) Die Jugendlichen sind der Überzeugung, daß die sozialistischen Länder mehr für ihre militärische Sicherheit tun müssen. (6) Die Jugendlichen sind zur Erfüllung ihrer Pflicht zum Wehrdienst bereit. The passage of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act of 2009 gave the FDA authority to regulate "modified risk tobacco products" (MRTPs), tobacco products that are either designed or advertised to reduce harm or the risk of tobacco-related disease. MRTPs must submit to the FDA scientific evidence to demonstrate the product has the potential to reduce tobacco related harms as compared to conventional tobacco products.
