Laura Zúñiga Cáceres is one of the daughters of Berta Cáceres, the Honduran indigenous leader, a member of the Lenca people, who was murdered on March 3. Laura is a 25-year-old girl who currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina and considers herself a political exile because Honduras "expels its population". For the daughter of the indigenous leader, the murder of her mother is not only that of a woman, but that a "collective Berta Cáceres" is murdered, because her death sent a message of terror to social movements. The article presents the historical significance of the Protestant preacher Charles Sadleir in the initial development of Mapuche political integration movements of the first half of the twentieth century. Their influence is exposed in the wake of the Mapuche ethnic consciousness in the development of political leadership, at the juncture of the class struggle in the development of some indigenous laws and finally showing the political decline of the Araucana Mission. Thus counteracting the current shortage of studies on the indigenous Protestantism. This thesis compares the strategies deployed by two international solidarity networks - the neo-Zapatista movement, based in Chiapas, Mexico, and the Israel/Palestine anti-occupation movement - to publicly communicate the political causes they espouse in an activist context dominated by the development of global justice frameworks (1994-2006). It seeks to explain how two such politically dissimilar struggles - the rebellion of the indigenous people of Chiapas, the resistance against Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories - might have come to be considered, in some political and media arenas, in similar terms to those used to characterise the opposition to "neo-liberal globalisation"; it sets out also to explain how the neo-Zapatista struggle might have come to be more naturally framed as a symbol of the global justice movement rather than as one of resistance to occupation. This study adopts a constructivist approach, closely exploring the practical dynamics of the international circulation of global justice ideas and actors, and is particularly concerned with the role played by activist media in this process. It argues that the partial convergence of collective action frameworks is the result of a series of tactical choices and internalised constraints, which have together favoured the development of discourses of struggle which are relatively independent of their social contexts of production. In order to understand the conditions which have enabled the conferment of a 'performative' power on discourses critical of neoliberal globalisation, I undertook fieldwork comprising 76 semi-directive interviews with activists and journalists, a series of observations in "alternative media" centres, and archival work. The comparison of the media repertoires of each network enables the identification of the progressive specialisation of activists in the work of alternative mediatisation. From the times of José Carlos Mariátegui, Indigenismo literary criticism has been articulating an ethnocentric discourse which production core is located in Peru and surrounding countries. However, rarely an Argentinian work that deals about inequalities of indigenous peoples has been mentioned, not even the Argentinian academia itself. In a country whose governments, from mid-19th c have been trying to erase any trace of indigenous blood in its population, by means of assimilation, extermination or invisibility, and whose major indigenous areas are placed far from the hegemonic Buenos Aires, social novels were pushed aside in the world of regional literature.However, during the blooming of the Indigenista movement, Argentinian writers echoed the sufferings and demands of their indigenous fellows by means of novels that overpassed the regionalist pejorative epithet and, beyond all understanding, have been forgotten. In this article, that is part of a major work, the silence from the critics is approached, the Indigenista production is contextualized and some of their works are briefly analyzed. ; Desde tiempos de José Carlos Mariátegui, la crítica literaria indigenista viene articulando un discurso etnocentrista cuyo eje de producción se sitúa en Perú y los países vecinos, pero rara vez se ha mencionado una obra argentina que trate sobre las desigualdades que sufren los indígenas de ese país. Due to various historical, political, and theological reasons, the evangelical movement in Russia has never developed full-fledged, indigenous mission sending structures This factor has been seriously hindering the growth of the evangelical church and the productive use of available resources to advance the work of the gospel. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the reasons underlying the current situation and offer a constructive proposal that might contribute to the development of missionary sending structures in the Russian context. In order to accomplish this, the author first looks at the factors that contributed to the emergence and success of mission agencies within Western Protestant Christianity. Second, he outlines major historical periods in the history of Russian evangelical missions with special attention to the factors that contributed to, or hindered, the creation of missionary sending structures. Finally, the author suggests a possible course of action that might prove helpful in developing mission agencies in the contemporary social and political context in which Russian evangelical churches find themselves.

This short book offers a clear and engaging introduction to the history of humankind, from the earliest movements of people to the contemporary epoch of globalization. Cowen traces this complex history in a manner which offers both a compelling narrative and an analytical and comparative treatment. Drawing on a new perspective on global history, he traces the intersection of change in economics, politics and human beliefs, examining the formation, enlargement and limits of human societies. Global History shows how much of human history encompasses three intersecting forces - trading networks, expanding political empires and crusading creeds. This conversation with French-Algerian thinker and activist Houria Bouteldja focuses on her book Whites, Jews, and Us: Toward a Politics of Revolutionary Love. By zooming in on contemporary debates around racism and decolonization in France, this interview focuses on questions of how gender and masculinity, sexuality, class, and race form political relationships within the modern nation-state. In particular, it asks follow-up questions to Bouteldja's epistemology in the chapter "We, Indigenous Women," the chapter that explicitly focuses on women, gender, and sexuality. And while gender and sexuality are always also inherently public, we follow up on tracing how her book, Les indigènes de la république (the movement of which she was the spokesperson from 2005 to 2020), and she herself have been received in French public debate, including in academia, politics and the media. Within the latter power fields, we address the role of women of color intellectuals and the challenges they pose to current debates and "moral panics" through the optics of popular decolonial movements. Eventually, a conversation unfolds where an ostensible "(too) liberal academia" has been marked by contemporary accusations of "Islamogauchisme" in a wider discourse that portrays Europe as being "in crisis" and what that means for the decolonization of Europe.

AbstractThis introduction to the special issue "Multispecies Justice" traces various histories and genealogies of multispecies justice, illuminating the critical contributions of Indigenous philosophies and lifeways and more recent justice movements and intellectual developments in the West. It emphasizes how these intellectual traditions are rooted in social and political movements spurred by the relentless violence against the more-than-human and the inadequacy of existing conceptualizations or institutions of justice. The introduction explains the issue's engagement with the relationship between epistemological cultures and cultural ontologies on the one hand, and political institutions on the other, with a particular focus on different "species" of beings (human, nonhuman animal, plant, and so on). It also sets out the methodological and representational challenges involved in conceptualizing and achieving multispecies justice. The introduction introduces the articles to follow by thematizing them around four key topics: the relationship between agency and representation; situated knowledges and knowledge production; colonialism and capitalism; and the law and institutions understood as formal rule-systems and informal rules and norms. By engaging these themes, the special issue seeks to imagine how political institutions might be formed and transformed in ways that are responsive to cultural ontologies that disrupt existing grids of meaning and distributions of value.
