Objective of the study: This article aims to present a systematic literature review on the application of blockchain in the healthcare supply chain.Relevance / originality: The relevance and originality consist in the presentation of a systematic literature review that focuses and considers the concepts of blockchain, healthcare and supply chain as equally important, in the studied time frame.Methodology / approach: The systematic literature review followed a protocol based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA), performing the search in eight databases, selecting conference and journal articles based on their content in sequential steps.Main results: As a result, 122 publications were selected. The number of publications in the field has been found to grow rapidly, and sensors and the Internet of Things (IoT) are two prominent minor topics. Three research challenges were raised.Theoretical / methodological contributions: Provide understanding to academics and professionals in the field about the state of the art of applying the blockchain in the healthcare supply chain, both in terms of the evolution of the literature, as well as in terms of raising new research.Social / management contributions: Raising discussions on solutions to healthcare supply chain issues, involving for example data integrity and privacy in electronic medical reports, drug counterfeiting and the use of sensors and the internet of things.

Since the 1970s, the U.S. Congress has been concerned with energy policy as a result of the 1973 oil crisis due to the Arab oil embargo. With the Department of Defense (DoD) being the major consumer of energy within the federal government, specifically as it relates to petroleum-related products (gasoline, diesel, and JP8.), it has been directed to implement cost cutting measures related to energy dependence through numerous Executive orders and Congressional Acts. Therefore, the DoD has mandated that each military service find ways to reduce energy requirements in order to meet both Presidential and Congressional mandates. This thesis provides a historical review (1973-2014) of energy related literature and identifies current gaps between strategy and research through the use of content analysis. It focuses primarily on operational energy research, but briefly discusses installation energy as it relates to the DoD Operational Energy Strategy.

Through a historical review of girls' and women's episodic and repetitive self-injury -scholarship focusing primarily on white, middle-class women in North America and Britain - in the clinical literature from 1913 to the present, the author identifies four shifts over time. These are: 1) varying degrees of clinical interest in and numbers of publications on self-injury, 2) changing conceptualizations of self-injury, 3) changing treatment approaches for self-injury, and 4) changing characterizations of women who self-injure. Moving from research studies which indicate that self-injury typically presents in females during adolescence, this article elucidates how self-injury may reflect girls' developmental struggles within a patriarchal culture and embody a narrative of women's experiences of violation. Bringing together the history of self-injury and a feminist, relational analysis, it is argued that the historical discourse on self-injury mimics women's experiences of objectification and violence by silencing and distorting their self-injury.

Adaptation of literature has been an important genre in Chinese films from the 1920s till now. This dissertation seeks to trace the general history of Chinese filmic adaptations of literature, and examine important moments and figures within this history, to bring out strategies filmmakers use in their adaptations, in response to and in negotiations with different cultural, political and commercial needs. With the dissertation, I hope to contribute to this still largely uncharted field in Chinese film studies, to studies of comparative literature and cross-media cultural translation between China, the West and Japan, and to offer insights into the cultural and political history in the periods addressed. In the dissertation, I employ techniques of literary and film studies, draw on adaptation and translation theories, and also use a cultural history perspective. Chapter 1 situates my study in current scholarships and gives an overview of what Chinese filmmakers chose to adapt and how they approach their sources. The following chapters are organized around representative figures or topics. Chapter 2 is on the Republican adaptations of foreign literature, in which I will give an overview of this genre and examine some of its recurrent motifs. Chapter 3 focuses on adaptations by Xia Yan, an arbiter of socialist films, in which I analyze Xia Yan's choices as shown in his adaptations in the 1950s and 1960s. Chapter 4 explores adaptations by Xie Jin, the most important Chinese director in the early 1980s, to see how he uses the melodramatic mode in his films on the rightists and how that mode is specific to the period. Chapter 5 studies Zhang Yimou's adaptations in his early films to see his change from the 1980s to the 1990s, and his strategy of foregrounding visuality

Purpose: This article analyses the Family Business (FB) within the process of globalization that has been taking place in recent decades. Design/methodology/approach: To achieve this we undertake a description of the importance of FB in the global economy and contrast this with a systematic review of the academic literature, which demonstrates the growing academic interest in the internationalization of the FB. Findings: The literature review highlights the importance of agency and stewardship theories when analyzing the aspects that affect the process of internationalization. These theoretical frameworks require a variety of assumptions and explain how ownership and control of an FB may explain different attitudes towards some short term risks, which could be due to FB politics of internationalization. Research limitations/implications: Finally, we mark out future research lines which will focus on the effect the ownership structure has on the type of internationalization that is undertaken by the FB. Originality/value: This article outlines new lines of literature review in the FB internationalization field, suggesting to the future authors the outstanding journals and topics in this research field ; Peer Reviewed

Migration is the third element that determines population changes, after birth rate and mortality rate. This occurrence is influenced by economic, social, geographic, and political variables. 'The human species is not a migratory species, but it is a restless one that moves in response to its social, economic, cultural, and ecological surroundings' (1984). In this study, the human migration behaviour was probed and reviewed in the context of social, political, geographical, and economic factors. This research and evaluation of the literature provides insight into migratory behaviour as it is influenced by geo-economics, psychosocial, and political aspects, as well as the good and bad effects on people. People from various geographical and economic backgrounds will promote the spread of new ideas and the study of new languages, assisting people in developing skills for working in various parts of the world/country. However, this section of literature goes on to say that the majority of people are forced out of their communities because they don't have enough possibilities to live a pleasant life and are dealing with various psychosocial issues.

Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se razdobljem pozitivizma u Poljskoj koje je trajalo od 1863. do 1890. godine. U radu se opisuje društveno-politička situacija u Europi i njezin utjecaj na Poljsku koja je još 1795. bila podijeljena na austrijski, pruski i ruski dio. Objašnjavaju se zatim temeljni pojmovi programa poljskog pozitivizma. Osim društveno-političke scene, riječ je i o pozitivizmu u poljskoj književnosti, o vrstama književnosti kao što su tendenciozna i agitacijska književnost, te o cenzuri. Pozitivizam u sociologiji utemeljio je Auguste Comte u svome djelu "Zakon triju stadija". Poljski pozitivisti preuzeli su neke vrijednosti i prilagodili pozitivizam svojim potrebama. Promjene u Europi potaknule su politička previranja u Poljskoj: želju za asimilacijom Židova, ali i rast antisemitizma te emancipacija žena i seljaka. Prikazani su također problemi društvenih skupina koje nisu imale status poljskog plemstva. ; This graduate thesis deals with the period of positivism in Poland (1863 – 1890). The theisis addresses the socio-political situation in Europe and its impact in Poland, which was divided in 1795 into Austrian, Prussian and Russian part. The basic concepts of the Polish positivism program are explained. Apart from the socio-political scene, it is also about positivism in Polish literature, about types of literature such as tendentious and agitational literature, and about censorship. Positivism in sociology was founded by Auguste Comte in his work "The Law of the Three Stages". Polish positivists have taken on some values and adapted positivism to their needs. Changes in Europe have fueled political turmoil in Poland: the desire to assimilate Jews, but also the rise of anti-Semitism and the emancipation of women and peasants. Problems of social groups that did not have the status of Polish nobility are also presented.

This paper aims to establish the uptake of Internet of Things (IoT) by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the digital era in emerging economies. This study aims to 1) determine adoption of IoT by SMEs during digital era in emerging economies, 2) establish challenges faced by SMEs in implementing IoT in emerging economies, and 3) develop a framework for digital transformation for SMEs in digital era in emerging economies. Systematic literature review approach was used. Articles from Scopus database ranging from 2018 to 2023 was used. 57 articles were shortlisted out of 153 articles. PRISMA framework was therefore used to perform systematic review analysis. Results demonstrate that in emerging economies, SMEs do not or are slowly adopting IoT concepts, making them less competitive. The results also determine that although IoT has great promise in SMEs, the key constraint is a lack of strategic implementation frameworks for its deployment and widespread adoption. This study was therefore carried out to develop a framework that supports digital transformation for SMEs in the digital era for emerging economies. Results have significant managerial and practical implications as they offer some insights to SME managers on how they can improve on the uptake and adoption of internet of things in digital era.

Political elites have a tremendous influence on past, present and future socioeconomic and political developments in both western and non-western countries. Unsurprisingly, the analysis of China's elites has been crucial in the study of politics there. A large body of literature has examined the members of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, a stronghold of the nation's political elites. Given the growing interest and research on elite politics in the PRC in recent years, this paper reviews studies of the pathways to political power and the personal qualifications of the members of the Central Committee that are central to studies of elite Chinese politics. This review paper is organized both chronologically and thematically. It shows a shift away from the study of demographics of Central Committee members toward theorizing of how recruitment into the Central Committee works. Some scholars have theorized succession politics in China as the rise of technocracy, while others have used institutionalization and factional politics to explain how China's leaders are selected. This paper summarizes and identifies several theoretical and methodological issues in existing studies as an effort to advance research on succession politics and political evolution in China.

This article considers the previously unexamined political uses of children's literature in the 1986–1988 British Parliamentary debates of the legislation that became Section 28 of the Local Government Act 1988. This law, now repealed, prohibited the "promotion" of homosexuality and "pretended" same-sex family relationships by local authorities in the United Kingdom. The effect of the legislation was a widespread silencing of LGBT+ people in institutions across the nation. But while much has been written about those effects and on Section 28 generally over the past 30 years, there has been less sustained attention, within the context of the debates, given to those children's books and how they were used by politicians to justify the law. With a particular focus on two of the most prominent texts in the Parliamentary debates – David Rees' teen novel, The Milkman's on his Way (1982), and Susanne Bösche's picturebook, Mette bor hos Morten og Erik, published in English as Jenny Lives with Eric and Martin (1981/1983) – this article examines the political uses and constructions of children's texts and argues that silence and absence were a key discursive strategy deployed by supporters of the law.
