The idea of the nation has been considered to have delivered political modernity from its native Europe to the rest of the world. The same applies, though more implicitly, to those paradoxes inherent to the nationalist ideology – that between universalism and national particularity and that between liberal nationalism and imperialism. This article seeks to complicate these theses by looking at the interpretations of nationalism, imperialism, and cosmopolitanism provided by Liang Qichao, one of the most influential Chinese intellectuals in early twentieth century, during his exile in Japan when increasingly exposed to the encounter between worlds. This reading also engages with the wider debates on modernity/modernities in non-Western societies through showing that neither the "consumers of modernity" approach nor the "creative adaptations" approach can be easily applied here. I argue that the various tensions, contingencies and historical situatedness in Liang's accounts of the nation-state structure represent and constitute the paradox of the structure itself. They also shed light on contemporary debates about the limits of our political imagination in the misnamed "global politics" beyond the false opposition between nationalism and cosmopolitanism.

El ''juarismo'' constituyó un experimento político que, aunque inaugurado en Córdoba, trascendió rápidamente el marco local y ejerció un rol decisivo en la temprana dinámica del Partido Autonomista Nacional que gobernó Argentina entre 1880 y 1916. Esa experiencia se fundó en formas novedosas de construcción y administración del poder. En estas páginas se explora un conjunto de medidas que impulsó el juarismo entre 1877 y 1883 en pos de transformar las formas de tramitación del conflicto político, que incluyó innovaciones legales y administrativas relativas al funcionamiento de los principales espacios de intervención pública. ; The ''juarismo'' was a political experiment that, although appearing in Córdoba, quickly transcended the local frame and played a decisive role in the early dynamics of the National Autonomous Party that ruled Argentina between 1880 and 1916. Such experience was founded on innovative forms of construction and administration of power. In these pages we explore a set of measures implemented by the juarismo between 1877 and 1883 in order to transform processing forms of political conflict, which included legal and administrative innovations concerning the operation of the main areas of public intervention.

The abolition of the legal prohibition of combining significant participations in the shared capital of different operators of television at the beginning of 2009 in Spain, immediately caused strategic moves aimed at the concentration of private television channels. On the one hand, Telecinco and Cuatro; on the other hand, Antena 3 and La Sexta. In short: to add nine in order to establish the two main Spanish media holdings. This paper analyses these market movements through three major drivers of change. ; La supresión a comienzos de 2009 en España de la prohibición legal de simultanear participaciones significativas en el capital social de distintos operadores de televisión, provocó de manera inmediata el inicio de movimientos estratégicos orientados a la concentración de las cadenas de televisión privadas. En el artículo se analizan estos movimientos del mercado, a través de tres importantes motores de cambio.

RESUMEN: Con el fin de contribuir a un mejor conocimiento de la producción de relaciones de sucesos traducidas, se han sometido a análisis 165 relaciones de sucesos traducidas al español desde otras lenguas (entre los años 1530 y 1796) registradas en el Catálogo y Biblioteca Digital de Relaciones de Sucesos (siglos XVI-XVIII) del SIELAE (Seminario Interdisciplinar para el Estudio de la Literatura Áurea Española). Los aspectos estudiados son las lenguas de procedencia, los impresores de las relaciones, los costeadores o promotores de las ediciones, los lugares de impresión, los traductores, los años en que destaca la producción de este tipo de relaciones y la tipología dominante según el contenido. Se ofrecen los datos concretos resultantes del análisis, que lleva a la conclusión de que el auge de relaciones traducidas al español se produjo entre los años 1623 y 1690, con una representación importante en 1628, 1630 y 1631 y menor hasta el año 1684 en que se produce el mayor número. Los asuntos que más traducciones atrajeron fueron los de política internacional (asuntos militares o bélicos) seguidos de los religiosos. Las lenguas de origen predominantes fueron el italiano y el francés. Entre los lugares de impresión destacan Barcelona, seguida de Madrid. Los principales impresores y costeadores fueron Esteve Liberós, Sebastià Matevat y Jaume Matevat (Barcelona) y Antonio Román y Sebastián de Armendáriz (Madrid). Los traductores realizan la tarea ocasionalmente, no como profesión. ; ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is a better knowing of translated production of news pamphlets in Spain. For it, we have subjected to analysis 165 News Pamphlets translated into Spanish from other languages (years 1530 to 1796) registered in the Catálogo y Biblioteca Digital de Relaciones de Sucesos (siglos xvi-xviii) del SIELAE (Seminario Interdisciplinar para el Estudio de la Literatura Áurea Española). The studied aspects have been the source languages, printers or promoters of the translated news pamphlets editions, printing places, translators, highlights years of the production of this type of press product and predominant topics of interest. This study offers the resulting concrete data of the analysis, which leads to the conclusion that the boom of news pamphlets translated into Spanish occurred between the years 1623 and 1690, with significant representation in 1628, 1630 and 1631 and a smaller one until the year 1684 in which there was most. The matters that more translations attracted were those of international politics (military or warlike matters) followed by the religious. The predominant source languages were Italian and French. As printing locations, highlights Barcelona, followed by Madrid. The main printers and editorial promoters were Esteve Liberós, Sebastià Matevat and Jaume Matevat (Barcelona) and Antonio Román and Sebastián de Armendáriz (Madrid). The translators used to perform the task occasionally, not as professionals.

International audience ; Paracelsus (1493-1541) rejected the humoral theories, in his opinion too general and simplistic, and the system of "qualities" (hot, cold, dry, wet), which could not account for the specific nature of each disease. He promoted a dynamic idea of the universe (and of the human body), where maker "principles" (salt, sulfur and mercury) direct the combinations of matter, interact with each other and form the "species" of natural objects. Also, these objects are related to each other by the marks in their constitution by one of these three principles. The topic of dental disease is particularly significant in this regard, as not belonging to the cohort of "fashionable" diseases (such as epilepsy, gout or syphilis) they were still common in all democratic social strata. If they were rarely the subject of great didactic treatises of iatrochemistry, the toothaches were, however, allowed to appear in the collections of clinical cases of Observationes and Curationes, mentioned in our presentation. The narration of clinical cases is not only the place where iatrochemists can prove the therapeutic efficacy of new drugs, but also a space where they allow themselves to represent relationships, not quite pacified, with other practitioners and the old doctrines. Diseases of the teeth, in particular, are part of this group of "miserable" diseases, as Paracelsus said, that any good doctor should know care: confrontation, explicit or indirect, with apothecaries, barbers and surgeons (which are involved specifically in dental cases), and is an opportunity for theoretical explanations and passionate speeches. ; Paracelse (1493-1541) avait rejeté les théories humorales, à son avis trop générales et simplistes et promu une idée de l'univers et du corps humain où des « principes » formateurs (le sel, le soufre et le mercure) orientent les combinaisons de la matière et forment les « espèces » des objets naturels. Toute maladie est une « espèce » à laquelle un remède de la même « espèce » doit correspondre ; toute inflammation n'est pas causée par une fluxion d'humeurs, mais surgit localement par l'action d'un sang vicié. Le cas des affections dentaires est no- tamment significatif à ce propos, car, n'appartenant pas à la cohorte de maladies « à la mode » (comme l'épi- lepsie ou la syphilis), elles étaient néanmoins répandues dans toutes les couches sociales. Si elles n'étaient pas souvent objet de grands traités didactiques de chimiatrie, les odontalgies ont pourtant eu le droit d'apparaître dans les recueils de cas cliniques, les observationes et les curationes, dont il est question dans notre exposé. La narration de cas cliniques est non seulement le lieu où les chimiatres peuvent prouver l'efficace des nouveaux remèdes, mais aussi un espace où ils s'autorisent à mettre en représentation les rapports, pas tout à fait paci- fiés, avec d'autres praticiens et avec les vieilles doctrines : la confrontation, explicite ou indirecte, avec les apothicaires et les autres médecins devient parfois fatidique et est l'occasion de mises au point théoriques et plaidoyers enflammés.

International audience ; Present Italian studies on Africa go beyond regional and disciplinary divides of the past. The trend is towards a positive transgression of previous boundaries, and scholars have shifted attention from the disciplinary approach to the transdisciplinaryand inter-disciplinary research. However, elements and trends of the past still influence the relationship between Berber literary studies and African literary studies in Italy. This paper offers a first reflection on the long-term relationships between Africanist studies and studies on Berber literature by taking into account conjunctures and disjunctures in the complex construction of the geographical and cultural notions of (and divide between) 'Africa' and 'North Africa'.The aim is to understand specificity and continuity of the relationship betweenBerber studies and Africanist studies in Italy when compared to international studies.Looking at the Italian studies of Berber literature, one finds a strong influence of the linguistic and philological approaches. Moreover, one recognizes the tendency of the studies to look 'East' rather than 'South' in establishing their cultural and political framework of reference. On the other hand, studies that give attention to new developments in Berber written literature spring usually from African 'post-colonial' literary studies. However, the situation is also evolving in the specific field of Italian Berber studies.
