With the approach of the one-year anniversary of Open Research Europe (ORE), the open access publishing platform launched by the European Commission, it is timely to review how the platform is going and look at how robust and future-proof it is. The platform provides all H2020 and Horizon Europe beneficiaries and their collaborators with an easy, high-quality platform to publish Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe funded research at no cost and in full compliance with the Commission's open access policies. The vision of ORE is to deliver high quality, reliable and efficient publishing venue for EU research and a sustainable venue where grantees can publish post-grant the results of their work, while respecting their open access obligations. The European Commission's ambition is for ORE to lead by example in operationalising open science principles within scientific publishing while contributing to transparency and cost-effectiveness and exploring sustainable open access publishing business models. During this workshop, speakers will discuss how ORE has become a sustainable and robust publishing platform and how it will remain this way for the years to come. The discussion will be focused on the role(s) research libraries can play in supporting the long-term accessibility and preservation of ORE digital outputs, for example by integrating ORE into institutional repositories, and more broadly in supporting the take-up and sustainability of ORE within universities and other research institutions. The urgent need to remove emerging contaminates from wastewater before their discharge in the environment imposes - not only from an environmental point of view, but also soon from a cogent legislative one - the development and adoption of innovative tertiary treatments. The technologies present on the market to the present day still do not reach the ideal features desirable for such processes especially for the removal of highly recalcitrant compounds such as the Perfluorinated Alkyl Substances (PFAS) which are poorly abated using "traditional" Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs). The non-thermal plasma (NTP) treatment is a promising technology based on the production (in the water or immediately above the liquid) of a NTP capable of producing reactive species both in the liquid and gaseous phase. These species can react with stable and recalcitrant compounds (e.g. PFAS) up to their mineralization. In this review, the NTP technology and its applications in wastewater treatment are reviewed, starting from the physics of the plasma, the different processes and reactors proposed in the literature, and the nature of the reactive species generated during the plasma process. Attention is dedicated to the applications of NTP for the abatement of Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs), with a focus on PFAS removal. Furthermore, the effects of the natural components of the waters, such as Natural Organic Matter (NOM), pH, and conductivity on the efficiency of NTP-based treatment are discussed. Lastly, based on an overall vision of the published literature on this topic and of the technologies available on the market to the present day, some conclusions regarding the future of this technology have been drawn.

Agriculture is the science and art of cultivation of the soil, rearing of livestock and raising of crops. Agricultural sector is considered as the most essential tool for the common masses to get their livelihood. It is estimated that about two-third of population is still dependent on agriculture in India. Throughout the world near about 50 % persons are associated with agricultural activities and their production. Soils which are rich in mineral contents and adequate climatic conditions are the factors which are vital for agricultural activity. The contribution of agriculture at national level on Gross Domestic Product is dynamic in nature and has reduced from 30% in 1990-91 to about 14% in 2011-12, it then again increased and reached 17% in 2019-20 up to about 19.9% in 2020-21 but still it is considered as the backbone of Indian economy. Agriculture sector should be given priority in order to make adequate measures to reduce poverty and to provide food security to the common people. The growth of agriculture is vital for inclusive and sustainable development of the nation. The growth of agriculture in India, is facing the challenges of unemployment, rural poverty, underemployment and accessibility of natural resources. The aim of this paper is to highlight whether the Government Policies and Programmes related to agriculture has done well in improving the living standard of people. International audience ; This article intends to question the glottopolitical commitment of the third people assisting asylum seekers in their legal approach. More specifically, this study focuses on the discourses and practices helping the asylum narratives production. From Bourdieu's sociology, the aim is to show that mediators have an eminently glottopolitical role as they are key people within the institutional ritual. Indeed, their commitment takes place between resisting migration policies and complying institutional expectations. Regarding their intervention on the asylum narratives and appeals, their role appears to be part of a remediation process to sociolinguistics difficulties that seekers cope with. Their third place in the relation between the institution and the asylum seekers distinguishes their commitment, providing them with the power to divert and negotiate this interactional structure. ; Cet article se propose d'interroger l'engagement glottopolitique des tiers-aidants médiateurs à l'élaboration du récit de vie requis dans le cadre de la demande d'asile, à partir de leurs pratiques d'assistance et des discours entourant ces pratiques. Ayant pour socle la sociologie bourdieusienne, il s'agira de montrer que ces médiateurs, rouages clé du rite d'institution qu'est la demande d'asile, ont un rôle éminemment glottopolitique, entre résistance aux politiques migratoires et conformité aux attentes institutionnelles. À l'aune de leurs différentes pratiques d'aide rédactionnelle et préparatoire aux audiences, et au regard des récits et recours rédigés, ce rôle apparait finalement constitutif d'un processus de remédiation aux difficultés socio-langagières rencontrées par les demandeurs. La posture tierce des aidants dans le dialogue entre l'institution et le requérant singularise leur engagement, leur conférant un pouvoir subtil de détournement de l'ordre de l'interaction avec lequel ils négocient en permanence.

The article deals with the economic, political, and social structures of the area between Ravenna and Comacchio, starting from the exploitation of the coastal wetlands, first of all for the production and distribution of salt (not only locally but also towards the internal area of the Kingdom of Italy). The role of the archbishops is reconstructed. They were the main, but not exclusive, heirs of the complex of assets and rights pertaining to the ancient Exarchate, and the main actors in the redistribution of these resources, flanked by the most eminent lay and ecclesiastical subjects on the Ravenna scene. Ample space is given to the political and economic weight of the fiscal assets, widely present in the area, which preserved a persistent public label and remained constantly at the center of political competition, frequently changing hands. ; L'articolo tratta delle strutture economiche, politiche e sociali dell'area tra Ravenna e Comacchio a partire dallo sfruttamento delle aree umide costiere, in primo luogo per la coltivazione e distribuzione del sale (non solo a livello locale ma anche verso l'area interna del regno italico). Viene ricostruito il ruolo degli arcivescovi, eredi principali, ma non esclusivi, del complesso di beni e diritti di pertinenza dell'antico Esarcato, nonché principali attori della ridistribuzione di tali risorse, affiancati dai soggetti laici ed ecclesiastici più eminenti sulla scena ravennate. Introduction: During the pandemic Covid-19, the global soybean market experienced a shock which resulted in the availability of imported soybeans in several countries decreasing and soybean prices increasing. This also has an impact on small and medium industries that cannot afford soybeans for their processed food raw materials, one of which is the production of "tempe". Purposes of the Research: The purpose of this study is to explain the concept of cooperation to provide legal protection to soybean farmers based on a muzara'ah akad with a murabahah system. Methods of the Research: The research method used is normative legal research with a statute legal approach and a conceptual approach. Results of the Research: The result of this study include 2 (two) things, namely the concept of cooperation and the form of legal protection. The concept of cooperation consists of: The first scheme, cooperation between the government (Pemda) with soybean farmers and Islamic banks. The second scheme is the cooperation of Islamic banks with soybean farmers using a murabahah akad. The third scheme, namely cooperation between soybean farmers and cultivator using muzara'ah akad. In connection with the form of legal protection, it is divided into 2 (two) namely: first, external legal protection regulated in Law Number 19 of 2013 concerning Protection and Empowerment of Farmers, which was later changed to Law no. 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, and second, internal legal protection, namely 3 (three) concepts of cooperation as outlined in a written agreement as a form of guarantee of legal certainty for the parties, especially for soybean farmers.

BACKGROUND: Pediatric osteoarticular infections (POAIs) are serious diseases requiring early diagnosis and treatment. METHODS: In this prospective multicenter cohort study, children with POAIs were selected from the European Union Childhood Life-threatening Infectious Diseases Study (EUCLIDS) database to analyze their demographic, clinical, and microbiological data. RESULTS: A cohort of 380 patients with POAIs, 203 with osteomyelitis (OM), 158 with septic arthritis (SA), and 19 with both OM and SA, was analyzed. Thirty-five patients were admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit; out of these, six suffered from shock, one needed an amputation of the right foot and of four left toes, and two had skin transplantation. According to the Pediatric Overall Performance Score, 36 (10.5%) showed a mild overall disability, 3 (0.8%) a moderate, and 1 (0.2%) a severe overall disability at discharge. A causative organism was detected in 65% (247/380) of patients. Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) was identified in 57.1% (141/247) of microbiological confirmed cases, including 1 (0.7%) methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) and 6 (4.2%) Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL)-producing S. aureus, followed by Group A Streptococcus (18.2%) and Kingella kingae (8.9%). K. kingae and PVL production in S. aureus were less frequently reported than expected from the literature. CONCLUSION: POAIs are associated with a substantial morbidity in European children, with S. aureus being the major detected pathogen. In one-third of patients, no causative organism is identified. Our observations show an urgent need for the development of a vaccine against S. aureus and for the development of new microbiologic diagnostic guidelines for POAIs in European pediatric hospitals.

There is an inseparable relationship between the use of technology and environmental damage. To overcome environmental damage, the world's population must make various efforts, especially the use of the latest technology by utilizing environmentally friendly fossil fuels. Coal is one of the fossil fuels and most of the coal is used for power generation. Power plants that use coal as an energy source can cause increased pollutant emissions such as SO2, NOx, CO2 and others. Most of the power plants in Indonesia use coal as an energy source. The existence of the Paris Agreement which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions encourages the Indonesian government to reduce air emissions. Indonesia has coal reserves of 38.84 billion tons in 2021. With many power plants that use coal energy and Indonesia's very large coal reserves, technologies that can minimize pollution resulting from coal utilization are needed. One way that can be done to overcome this problem is to apply clean coal technology (Clean Coal Technologies) which can be classified according to the level of the energy production process at the time of power generation, including PreCombustion and Post-Combustion technologies. The technology used before the combustion stage is using FBC (Fluidized Bed Combustion) technology, coal gasification technology, MHD (Magnetic Hydrodynamic Technology), Fuel Cell Technology and IGCC Combination. The technology carried out after the combustion stage is using denitrification technology, dedusting technology, desulfurization technology and oxy-combustion system. In this study, the author will use a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, where the research intends to understand clean coal technologies that can be applied to power plants in Indonesia.

Social VR enables people to interact over distance with others in real-time. It allows remote people, typically represented as avatars, to communicate and perform activities together in a shared virtual environment, extending the capabilities of traditional social platforms like Facebook and Netflix. This paper explores the benefits and drawbacks provided by a lightweight and low-cost Social VR platform (SocialVR), in which users are captured by several cameras and reconstructed in real-time. In particular, the paper contributes with (1) the design and evaluation of an experimental protocol for Social VR experiences; (2) the report of a production workflow for this new type of media experiences; and (3) the results of experiments with both end-users (N = 15 pairs) and professionals (N = 22 companies) to evaluate the potential of the SocialVR platform. Results from the questionnaires and semi-structured interviews show that end-users rated positively towards the experiences provided by the SocialVR platform, which enabled them to sense emotions and communicate effortlessly. End-users perceived the photo-realistic experience of SocialVR similar to face-to-face scenarios and appreciated this new creative medium. This paper intends to present Angelo Calemme's reconstruction of the Marxian project of a Critical history of technology offered in his most recent book Dalla Rivoluzione scientifica alla Rivoluzione industriale. Sulle condizioni marxiane dello sviluppo scientifico-tecnico (Meltemi Press Srl, Milano pp. 444, € 28, ISBN 9788855195652). This book questions the antithetical dominant approaches in the field of the history and theory of science and technology, which are crystallised in an at least centennial debate on the either external or internal logics of the development of scientific theory. Calemme proposes us a refreshing perspective in order to address the following problems: what has been the function of the applied mathematics in the technical development that brought to the Industrial Revolution? Such sciences develop themselves according to a proper ideology-free internal logic, or do they proceed according to an external causality, and namely, the value theory that directs economic structures and modes of production? The questions at stake are paramount to attempt a new critique of political economy able to expose the most inner logics of contemporary algorithmic and cognitive capitalism. This overview of Calemme's work argues that his proposal consists of a dialectical sublation of the debate through a genealogical understanding of Hegel's (concept of work-labour) and Charles Darwin's (concept of life) – among others – influence on Marx's notes on the history of technology. Ultimately, one must dialectically understand the relation between Critical history of technology and Critique of political economy, hence opening a perspective that can be productively integrated with Bernard Stiegler' sproject of a general organology. The general purpose of the study was to ascertain the need for personnel development to improve the performance of Agriculture Teachers in public secondary schools in the Uyo Education Zone in Akwa Ibom State. Specifically, the study investigated the needed areas of personnel development to enhance teachers' performance in agriculture lesson delivery. The population of the study comprised all the Agriculture Teachers in public secondary schools in Uyo Education Zone. The sample size of 99 subjects was randomly drawn from the fourteen (14) secondary schools in Uyo Education Zone, all offering Agricultural Science, Fishery, and/or Animal Production. The researcher structured and validated instrument with 15 items that was used for data collection. The split-half method was used in determining the reliability of the instrument and a reliability index of 0.86 was obtained. Mean statistics was used in answering the -research questions, one way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used in testing the null hypothesis at a 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed the needed areas for Agriculture Teacher professional development to enhance lesson delivery, including; 'Professional Training Seminar on emerging lesson delivery strategies' with the highest mean at 3.97, seconded by 'Short courses on contents of emerging Agricultural Trades and Entrepreneurial Practices' with a mean of 3.95 and thirdly, 'Workshop participation in the use of computer-aided agricultural teaching aids' with the mean at 3.86 among others. There was no significant difference in the mean response of respondents. From the findings, it is recommended that government should host regular and periodic training and re-training of secondary school teachers to equip them on the indicated need areas.

This study discusses the model of local government support to generate entrepreneurial intentions for women who have been laid off due to the Covid-19 pandemic. There are four government support as the intervention variable tested, financial support, assistance in design and production, supply chain coordination, and marketing and sales support. While the research object context is the internal locus and external locus of control, acting as exogenous variables. The survey used a questionnaire designed using a 5-point Likert scale. Questionnaires were distributed to women affected by layoffs who live in Minahasa Utara Regency, Sulawesi Utara Province, Indonesia, a total of 75 questionnaires were answered completely. Data analysis using Smart PLS. The results of data analysis show that, without government support intervention, women with an internal locus of control are more interested in becoming entrepreneurs than those with an external locus of control. Government support has a significant impact in generating entrepreneurial interest in women with internal and external locus of control. Women with an external locus of control are more motivated to become entrepreneurs, especially if they receive financial support, while women with an internal locus of control are more motivated to become entrepreneurs if they are supported in supply chain development. Government support for coordinating supply chains adds to the literature on external factors that have an impact on entrepreneurial intentions. The managerial implication of the findings of this study is the importance of the government's role, especially in financial support for women with external locus of control and supply chain support for women with internal locus of control.

Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) are critical biodiversity areas for the conservation and sustainable use of biological and cultural resources while promoting regional peace, cooperation, and socio-economic development. Sustainable management of TFCAs is dependent on the availability of an eco-agriculture framework that promotes integrated management of conservation mosaics in terms of food production, environmental protection or the conservation of natural resources, and improved human livelihoods. As a developmental framework, eco-agriculture is significantly influenced by existing legal and governance structures at all levels; this study assessed the impact of existing legal and governance frameworks on eco-agriculture implementation in the Lubombo TFCA that cuts across the borders between Mozambique, Eswatini, and South Africa. The assessment used a mixed research method, including a document review, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions. Although the three countries have no eco-agriculture policies, biodiversity practices are directly or indirectly affected by some policies related to environmental protection, agriculture improvement, and rural development. The assessment found that South Africa has the most comprehensive policies related to eco-agriculture; Mozambican policies mainly focus on equity and involvement of disadvantaged social groups, while Eswatini is conspicuous for explicitly making it the responsibility of each citizen to protect and safeguard the environment. The protection of conservation areas is critical to preserving natural habitats and ensuring the continued provision of ecosystem services. The lack of transboundary governance structures results in the Lubombo TFCA existing as a treaty on paper, as there are no clear processes for transboundary cooperation and collaboration.

International audience ; L'activité économique mondiale a progressé rapidement en 2021, comblant en partie la chute de 2020. Pourtant, à peine remise de la pandémie de Covid-19, l'économie mondiale doit faire face à une nouvelle série de chocs. La résurgence de l'inflation observée à partir de l'été dernier en est le premier symptôme. Cette inflation est d'abord liée à l'écart entre l'offre et la demande de produits énergétiques, ce qui a eu pour conséquence de faire augmenter non seulement le prix du pétrole mais également ceux du gaz et des biens alimentaires. Malgré l'amélioration de la situation sanitaire, le virus circule toujours entraînant des dysfonctionnements dans les chaînes de production. Il en résulte des difficultés d'approvisionnement qui alimentent également les tensions sur les prix. Depuis février, l'invasion de l'Ukraine par la Russie accroît le risque d'un ralentissement économique mondial, en amplifiant l'augmentation des prix énergétiques et alimentaires. De plus, ce conflit s'accompagne de tensions géopolitiques qui ont fortement accru l'incertitude en raison des menaces d'extension du conflit ou d'escalade des sanctions. Ainsi, outre les ménages qui subissent des pertes de pouvoir d'achat, les entreprises pourraient se montrer plus réticentes à investir au cours des prochains mois. Même si les gouvernements prennent des mesures pour amortir l'impact de la hausse des prix, la sortie du « Quoi qu'il en coûte» se traduit par la réduction des mesures de soutien budgétaire. Quant aux banques centrales, leur soutien ne peut plus être aussi facilement assuré que précédemment, dès lors que l'inflation dépasse largement leur cible. Elles ont même soit amorcé, soit annoncé, un resserrement de la politique monétaire. Dans la situation conjoncturelle actuelle, ces décisions contribueraient au recul de la demande.
