A search for flavour-changing neutral current decays of a top quark into an up-type quark (q=u,c) and the Standard Model Higgs boson, t→Hq, is presented. The search is based on a dataset of pp collisions at s√=13 TeV recorded in 2015 and 2016 with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1. Two complementary analyses are performed that search for top-quark pair events in which one top quark decays into Wb and the other top quark decays into Hq, and target the H→bb¯ and H→τ+τ− decay modes, respectively. The high multiplicity of b-quark jets, or the presence of hadronically decaying τ-leptons, are exploited in the two analyses respectively. Multivariate techniques are used to separate the signal from the background, which is dominated by top-quark pair production. No significant excess of events above the background expectation is found, and 95% CL upper limits on the t→Hq branching ratios are derived. The combination of these searches with ATLAS searches in diphoton and multilepton final states yields observed (expected) 95% CL upper limits on the t→Hc and t→Hu branching ratios of 1.1×10−3 (8.3×10−4) and 1.2×10−3 (8.3×10−4), respectively. Correlations of two flow harmonics vn and vm via three-and four-particle cumulants are measured in 13 TeV pp, 5.02 TeV p+Pb, and 2.76 TeV peripheral Pb+Pb collisions with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The goal is to understand the multi-particle nature of the long-range collective phenomenon in these collision systems. The large non-flow background from dijet production present in the standard cumulant method is suppressed using a method of subevent cumulants involving two, three and four subevents separated in pseudorapidity. The results show a negative correlation between v2 and v3 and a positive correlation between v2 and v4 for all collision systems and over the full multiplicity range. However, the magnitudes of the correlations are found to depend on the event multiplicity, the choice of transverse momentum range and collision system. The relative correlation strength, obtained by normalisation of the cumulants with the (v2n) from a two-particle correlation analysis, is similar in the three collision systems and depends weakly on the event multiplicity and transverse momentum. This paper describes a study of techniques for identifying Higgs bosons at high transverse momenta decaying into bottom-quark pairs, H → b¯b , for proton–proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy √ s = 13 TeV. These decays are reconstructed from calorimeter jets found with the anti-kt R = 1.0 jet algorithm. To tag Higgs bosons, a combination of requirements is used: b-tagging of R = 0.2 track-jets matched to the large-R calorimeter jet, and requirements on the jetmass and other jet substructure variables.The Higgs boson tagging efficiency and corresponding multijet and hadronic top-quark background rejections are evaluated using Monte Carlo simulation. Several benchmark tagging selections are defined for different signal efficiency targets. The modelling of the relevant input distributions used to tag Higgs bosons is studied in 36 fb−1 of data collected in 2015 and 2016 using g → b¯b and Z(→ b¯b)γ event selections in data. A search is performed for a long-lived particle decaying into a final state that includes a pair of muons of opposite-sign electric charge, using proton-proton collision data collected at root s = 13 TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 32.9 fb−1. No significant excess over the Standard Model expectation is observed. Limits at 95% confidence level on the lifetime of the long-lived particle are presented in models of new phenomena including gauge-mediated supersymmetry or decay of the Higgs boson, H, to a pair of dark photons, ZD. Lifetimes in the range cτ = 1–2400 cm are excluded, depending on the parameters of the model. In the supersymmetric model, the lightest neutralino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle, with a relatively long lifetime due to its weak coupling to the gravitino, the lightest supersymmetric particle. The lifetime limits are determined for very light gravitino mass and various assumptions for the neutralino mass in the range 300–1000 GeV. A search for supersymmetry in events with large missing transverse momentum, jets, and at least one hadronically decaying τ-lepton is presented. Two exclusive final states with either exactly one or at least two τ-leptons are considered. The analysis is based on proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 delivered by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded by the ATLAS detector in 2015 and 2016. No significant excess is observed over the Standard Model expectation. At 95% confidence level, model-independent upper limits on the cross section are set and exclusion limits are provided for two signal scenarios: a simplified model of gluino pair production with τ-rich cascade decays, and a model with gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB). In the simplified model, gluino masses up to 2000 GeV are excluded for low values of the mass of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), while LSP masses up to 1000 GeV are excluded for gluino masses around 1400 GeV. The article is devoted to the characterization of the main tendencies of the development of the value system of Ukrainians. The article analyzes the European and Ukrainian values of different generations, reveals the tendency of approaching the mentality of a modern student to the European one. The patriotic consciousness of Ukrainians along with Europe is explored. It shows the European orientation of Ukrainians and their vision of Ukraine directly within the European Union. According to Ukrainian students, the most attractive factor of EU membership is determined. The article describes the public and ecological culture, the level of tolerance of Ukrainians in 2017 and students in 2019. The article introduces the results of research carried out by the authors of this article, «Eurobarometer» and Gorshenin Institute in cooperation with the Representative Office of the Fund. Friedrich Ebert in Ukraine and Belarus. Particular attention is paid to the comparison of the values of Ukrainians and Europeans. The characteristic features of the mental culture of our citizens are distinguished and described. Accurate assessment of anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and their redistribution among the atmosphere, ocean, and terrestrial biosphere - the "global carbon budget" - is important to better understand the global carbon cycle, support the development of climate policies, and project future climate change. Here we describe data sets and methodology to quantify the five major components of the global carbon budget and their uncertainties. Fossil CO2 emissions (E-FF) are based on energy statistics and cement production data, while emissions from land use change (E-LUC), mainly deforestation, are based on land use and land use change data and bookkeeping models. Atmospheric CO2 concentration is measured directly and its growth rate (G(ATM)) is computed from the annual changes in concentration. The ocean CO2 sink (S-OCEAN) and terrestrial CO2 sink (S-LAND) are estimated with global process models constrained by observations. The resulting carbon budget imbalance (B-IM), the difference between the estimated total emissions and the estimated changes in the atmosphere, ocean, and terrestrial biosphere, is a measure of imperfect data and understanding of the contemporary carbon cycle. All uncertainties are reported as +/- 1 sigma. For the last decade available (2009-2018), E-FF was 9.5 +/- 0.5 GtC yr 1, E-LUC 1.5 +/- 0.7 GtC yr 1, G(ATM) 4.9 +/- 0.02 GtC yr(-1) (2.3 +/- 0.01 ppm yr(-1)), S-OCEAN 2.5 +/- 0.6 GtC yr(-1), and S-LAND 3.2 +/- 0.6 GtC yr(-1), with a budget imbalance B-IM of 0.4 GtC yr(-1) indicating overestimated emissions and/or underestimated sinks. For the year 2018 alone, the growth in E-FF was about 2.1% and fossil emissions increased to 10.0 +/- 0.5 GtC yr 1, reaching 10 GtC yr(-1) for the first time in history, E-LUC was 1.5 +/- 0.7 GtC yr(-1), for total anthropogenic CO2 emissions of 11.5 +/- 0.9 GtC yr(-1) (42.5 +/- 3.3 GtCO(2)). Also for 2018, G(ATM) was 5.1 +/- 0.2 GtC yr(-1) (2.4 +/- 0.1 ppm yr(-1)), S-OCEAN was 2.6 +/- 0.6 GtC yr(-1), and S-LAND was 3.5 +/- 0.7 GtC yr(-1), with a B-IM of 0.3 GtC. The global atmospheric CO2 concentration reached 407.38 +/- 0.1 ppm averaged over 2018. For 2019, preliminary data for the first 6-10 months indicate a reduced growth in E-FF of +0.6% (range of -0.2% to 1.5 %) based on national emissions projections for China, the USA, the EU, and India and projections of gross domestic product corrected for recent changes in the carbon intensity of the economy for the rest of the world. Overall, the mean and trend in the five components of the global carbon budget are consistently estimated over the period 1959-2018, but discrepancies of up to 1 GtC yr(-1) persist for the representation of semi-decadal variability in CO2 fluxes.

Military vocabulary and the vocabulary of war are part of specialized as well as general lexicon. Such language was present in Slovene even before the creation of the Slovene army in 1991. In this context the systematic development of military terminology was left to enthusiastic individuals. Due to the lack of terminological reference works, the creation of military vocabulary was in the hands of people who experienced military service and war, as well as writers and translators. But can literature present a reliable source for terminological research? We also try to answer this question.Our research is focused on the lexis concerning war, the denomination of military functions and ideologies in the context of the Second World War as they appear in the French original and Slovene translation of Bienveillantes (The Kindly Ones) by J. Littell (2006, 2010). Its war lexis is compared to that of some Slovene original works and translations concerning the Second World War. In addition, the monolingual corpus Gigafida is taken into account and the question of the (in)stability of prescriptive norms of Slovene is discussed. ; Le vocabulaire de guerre et de l'armée fait aussi bien partie du lexique général que spécialisé, on pourrait aussi parler des jargonismes, était présent en slovène bien avant la création de l'armée slovène qui n'a eu lieu qu'à partir de 1991. Les soins du développement systématique de la terminologie militaire étaient confinés à des individus enthousiastes. Faute d'ouvrages de référence terminologiques, dans de nombreux cas, la création du vocabulaire passait par le vécu des gens, de la littérature ou même de la traduction. Mais est-ce que la traduction est toujours une source fiable pour l'aide terminologique ? C'est la question que nous nous posons dans la suite.Nous avons focalisé notre attention au lexique concernant la guerre, les dénominations des fonctions militaires et les idéologies de la 2e guerre mondiale tels qu'ils apparaissent dans l'original et la traduction slovène des Bienveillantes de J. Littell (2006, 2010). Nous comparons ce lexique avec les originaux slovènes et les traductions d'autres œuvres concernant la 2e guerre mondiale ainsi que le corpus monolingue Gigafida et l'examinons en fonction des normes linguistiques du slovène. ; Vojni in vojaški besednjak sta tako del splošne kot specializirane leksike, morda bi celo lahko govorili o žargonizmih. Ta leksika je bila v slovenščini prisotna že precej pred ustanovitvijo slovenske vojske leta 1991. Skrb za sistematičen razvoj vojaške terminologije so prevzeli zavzeti posamezniki. Ob pomanjkanju ustreznih terminoloških priročnikov je oblikovanje slovarja potekalo na osnovi izkušenj vojakov, opisov v literarnih delih in prevodov. Pa je prevod lahko sploh ustrezen vir za terminologijo? To vprašanje si zastavljamo v tem prispevku.Osredotočamo se na vojno leksiko, poimenovanje vojaških funkcij in ideologij 2. svetovne vojne, kot se odslikavajo v slovenskem prevodu romana Sojenice (Les Bienveillantes) J. Littella (2006, 2010). Leksiko primerjamo s slovenskimi originali in prevodi drugih del iz obdobja 2. svetovne vojne ter z zadetki v enojezičnem korpusu Gigafida in hkrati spregovorimo o jezikovnih normah v odnosu do sprejemanja tujejezičnih izrazov.

The article is devoted to the characterization of the main tendencies of the development of the value system of Ukrainians. The article analyzes the European and Ukrainian values of different generations, reveals the tendency of approaching the mentality of a modern student to the European one. The patriotic consciousness of Ukrainians along with Europe is explored. It shows the European orientation of Ukrainians and their vision of Ukraine directly within the European Union. According to Ukrainian students, the most attractive factor of EU membership is determined. The article describes the public and ecological culture, the level of tolerance of Ukrainians in 2017 and students in 2019. The article introduces the results of research carried out by the authors of this article, «Eurobarometer» and Gorshenin Institute in cooperation with the Representative Office of the Fund. Friedrich Ebert in Ukraine and Belarus. Particular attention is paid to the comparison of the values of Ukrainians and Europeans. The characteristic features of the mental culture of our citizens are distinguished and described. The development policies are carried out by multiple agencies, which includes different ways to use the graphic representation such as cartographies, photographs and schemes. Those representations are a performative tool, as they deploy knowledge and intercession in the political field. In the present work, we seek to cross sense of population and representation, within the rural production of the province of Río Negro, in Patagonia Argentina, in one of the activities historically underrepresented, the small scale production of Family Farming in the dryland areas. This production in the last years has had a strong recognition by the National State's discourse. We will review the role played by the cartographic representation in the discourse, found in the government plans during the last decade (2005- 2015) that tried to generate alternatives to the process of depopulation and population aging. We will examine how the visual representation is built from an ideological point of view. ; El diseño de un modelo de desarrollo económico se realiza por múltiples agencias, que adoptan distintas herramientas de representación gráfica, como cartografías, fotografías o esquemas. Esta representación es una herramienta performativa, en tanto propone un hacer a partir de esa síntesis visual. En el presente trabajo cruzamos sentidos del poblamiento y representación de la producción rural de la provincia de Río Negro, Patagonia argentina, en una de las actividades históricamente subalternizada, la producción de pequeña escala de la Agricultura Familiar en las áreas de secano. Esta producción en los últimos años ha tenido un fuerte reconocimiento por parte del Estado Nacional. Revisaremos la representación cartográfica presente en planificaciones estatales de la última década (2006-2015) que buscó generar alternativas al proceso de despoblamiento patagónico y envejecimiento poblacional. Observaremos la forma en que la síntesis visual oculta los sesgos de la mirada desde la cual se elabora. ; La conception d'un modèle de développement économique est effectué par multiples agences, qui adoptent différents outils de représentation graphique, comme la cartographie, les photographies ou les schémas. Cette représentation est un outil performatif, en tant que il propose une réalisation à partir de cette synthèse visuelle. Le présent travail, nous traversons les sens de la population et la représentation de la production rurale de la province de Río Negro, de la Patagonia Argentina, l'une des activités historiquement subalternes, la production à petite échelle de l'Agriculture familiale dans les zones non irriguées. Cette production au cours des dernières années a eu une grande reconnaissance de la part de l'État national. Nous examinerons la représentation cartographique présente dans les plans de l'état de la dernière décennie (2006-2015) qui a cherché à générer des alternatives au processus de dépeuplement de la Patagonia et au vieillissement de la population. Nous observerons la manière dans que la synthèse visuelle cache les biais du regard à partir duquel est élaborée.

A search for nonresonant excesses in the invariant mass spectra of electron and muon pairs is presented. The analysis is based on data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment in 2016, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 36 fb−1 . No significant deviation from the standard model is observed. Limits are set at 95% confidence level on energy scales for two general classes of nonresonant models. For a class of fermion contact interaction models, lower limits ranging from 20 to 32 TeV are set on the characteristic compositeness scale Λ. For the Arkani-Hamed, Dimopoulos, and Dvali model of large extra dimensions, the first results in the dilepton final state at 13 TeV are reported, and values of the ultraviolet cutoff parameter ΛT below 6.9 TeV are excluded. A search for decays of the Higgs and Z boson to pairs of J/ψ or Y(nS) (n = 1, 2, 3) mesons, with their subsequent decay to μμ pairs, is presented. The analysis uses data from proton-proton collisions at s=13TeV, collected with the CMS detector at the LHC in 2017 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 37.5fb. While an observation of such a decay with this sample would indicate the presence of physics beyond the standard model, no significant excess is observed. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are placed on the branching fractions of these decays. In the J/ψ pair channel, the limits are 1.8×10 and 2.2×10 for the Higgs and Z boson, respectively, while in the combined Y(nS) pair channel, the limits are 1.4×10 and 1.5×10, respectively, when the mesons from the Higgs and Z boson decay are assumed to be unpolarized. A search for long-lived particles decaying to displaced, nonprompt jets and missing transverse momentum is presented. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2016–2018. Candidate signal events containing nonprompt jets are identified using the timing capabilities of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter. The results of the search are consistent with the background prediction and are interpreted using a gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking reference model with a gluino next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle. In this model, gluino masses up to 2100, 2500, and 1900 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level for proper decay lengths of 0.3, 1, and 100 m, respectively. A search is performed for neutral non-standard-model Higgs bosons decaying to two muons in the context of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). Proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV were used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb. The search is sensitive to neutral Higgs bosons produced via the gluon fusion process or in association with a bb‾ quark pair. No significant deviations from the standard model expectation are observed. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set in the context of the m and phenomenological MSSM scenarios on the parameter tan⁡β as a function of the mass of the pseudoscalar A boson, in the range from 130 to 600 GeV. A search is presented for resonant production of second-generation sleptons (μ˜L, ν˜μ) via the R-parity-violating coupling λ′211 to quarks, in events with two same-sign muons and at least two jets in the final state. The smuon (muon sneutrino) is expected to decay into a muon and a neutralino (chargino), which will then decay into a second muon and at least two jets. The analysis is based on the 2016 data set of proton-proton collisions at s√=13TeV recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb−1. No significant deviation is observed with respect to standard model expectations. Upper limits on cross sections, ranging from 0.24 to 730fb, are derived in the context of two simplified models representing the dominant signal contributions leading to a same-sign muon pair. The cross section limits are translated into coupling limits for a modified constrained minimal supersymmetric model with λ′211 as the only nonzero R-parity violating coupling.
