Millionen Muslime sind in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten als Gastarbeiter überwiegend aus der Türkei, als Flüchtlinge aus Syrien und anderen Staaten des Nahen Ostens nach Deutschland gekommen. Hamed Abdel-Samad rechnet ab mit der Politik, die die Integration zu lange konterkariert und der Muslime, die sich in Parallelgesellschaften verbarrikadiert haben. Deutsch-Türken unterstützen Erdogan, in Europa geborene Muslime verüben Terroranschläge. Hamed Abdel-Samad prangert die integrationsverhindernden Elemente der islamischen Kultur an.
