The manner of conducting modern large-scale combat operations (LSCOs) is characterized by the increasingly frequent and diverse use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) integrated into the Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4IRS) system. These aircraft are one of the most important types of weapons in modern LSCOs. Anyone that has the technology can process the latest information from the field and safely passes that information to the command center has a great advantage and a chance to cause great damage to units whose goal is to prevent further operational work. What is important is that UAVs must have some degree of self-protection through site selection action to reconnaissance and retreat routes. The paper presents the possibility of using UAVs for various missions in LSCOs, as well as a case study of their use in previous modern armed conflicts.

AbstractResearch has stressed the importance of universities in developing entrepreneurial ecosystems (EEs) and their possible social and economic impacts on society. Concerning this commitment, social entrepreneurs (SEs) favor university actions that facilitate the improvement of their individual capital. However, research on this topic has received little attention. This study investigated how universities contribute to the advancement of EEs. It also examines the mechanisms that universities employ to support SEs. Two survey instruments were administered: one to 418 SEs, and the other to 494 people affiliated with universities. The results indicate that universities can be key actors in EEs because they can mobilize resources aligned with their institutional commitments, including training, facilities, and contact with several stakeholders. Additionally, SEs rely on training opportunities and connections with other stakeholders to implement entrepreneurial initiatives. Accordingly, our study highlights the critical role universities play in the development and survival of SEs.

This article analyzes a single bankruptcy case—Hancock v Halliday(1742–1752)—as it was litigated in the Court of Chancery across a ten-year period. By incorporating local sources, the work attempts to move away from assumptions surrounding the "implicit contract" of family, and to provide a more nuanced analysis of "family strategies" in action. I argue that business historians—looking at networks—and economic and social historians—analyzing the use and implementation of credit—should continue to explore the divisions within families, which will help to reemphasize the role of women within business transactions and the wider credit-based economy. Ultimately, this article makes a significant contribution to the burgeoning scholarship on the negative aspects of familial networks of credit and debt, demonstrating how the complex and multifaceted nature of family indebtedness has been overlooked, and misunderstood, in the existing literature.

This article examines the wave of housing squats by housing movements in Milan during the 2010s as a part of the anti-austerity protests following the financial crisis. The literature on the European housing squats emphasized their novelty in comparison to traditional working-class organizations and their autonomy from state power. I shift attention to the underresearched interdependences among squats and traditional trade/tenant unions and how they enabled squats to interfere with housing policy and the state. Using findings from two case studies, the analysis shows that these interdependences underpinned a resistance strategy suspended between noncontentious experiments of "welfare from below" and contentious politics. Within this framework, the squats became a lever for the housing movements to keep exerting an influence on policy action and to survive demobilization despite an adverse political climate, connecting pragmatic welfare gains in the present and radical aspirations of future societal change.

Over the past four decades, since the transition of Robin into the Nightwing superhero persona in DC's Tales of the Teen Titans #44 (July 1984), sidekick characters have become increasingly relevant in their narrative function for DC's overall superhero storytelling and world-building strategies. By examining the comic book and television narratives across Teen Titans and Young Justice titles, this article argues for a critical examination in how sidekicks mature into independent superheroes and how this impacts the broader storytelling paradigm for DC and their related media. The animated Young Justice and live-action Titans series highlight the progression in a sidekick's temporal function, guiding not only their own maturation into independent superheroes but also the overall evolution of the superhero storytelling genre, allowing the passage of time, the inevitable death of the superhero and the renaissance of the sidekick-turned-superhero.

Perspectives on patient safety and combining them in management work – an interview study
Patient safety in healthcare has traditionally been promoted through technical solutions and standard guidance. This kind of perspective that focuses solely on factors that weaken safety has not produced the desired result. In parallel, another approach to patient safety has emerged, one which raises the factors that maintain safety and the role of people in enhancing it. This article explores these two perspectives on patient safety in the framework of paradoxes and ambidexterity. The research reveals that paradoxes occur in situations where patient safety is strengthened with actions related to a different safety perspective. Those paradoxes can be confronted with leadership that recognizes both safety perspectives and their importance in enhancing patient safety. The research reveals that the importance of formal and informal leadership should be examined more closely in the future.

Inclusive education strives to support all students, regardless of their differences, so no child is left behind. However, some teachers, especially those in high schools, may oppose inclusive education. This study aimed to examine the experiences and actions of high school mathematics teachers as they taught students with visual impairments to understand the challenges they faced and how these affected their willingness to embrace the inclusion of these students. Researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with eight mathematics teachers experienced in teaching students with visual impairments. The findings were organized into five themes: mathematics teaching practices, curriculum, material preparation, assessment practices, and beliefs about inclusive education and students with visual impairments. The results revealed that while mathematics teachers were conscious of not being adequately equipped to implement inclusive education, those with strong teaching efficacy beliefs were more inclined to teach rigorous mathematics to students with visual impairments.

Focusing on two key instruments, the Just Transition Fund and the Social Climate Fund, this article assesses to what extent the EU's pledge for a 'just transition' has the potential to foster greater social justice while implementing the European Green Deal. We analyse the related objectives, policy tools and patterns of political conflict and find that both Funds have narrow objectives anchored in a reactive logic complementing existing social investment initiatives with a focus on reskilling the workforce hit by decarbonisation. Both instruments rely on multi-level investment aiming to generate green growth, combined with targeted compensation for the more vulnerable. This, we argue, is not conducive to a just transition that addresses the intersection of environmental and social problems in a holistic way. Finally, various political fault lines pose the threat that EU action will be insufficient to tackle exacerbated inequalities in the future.

Abstract
Bhit Shah is the abode of venerated Sufi mystic Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. During the last few decades, the saint's shrine has also become a center for Shi'i practices of 'azādārī – mourning congregations in memory of Imam Husain. This article contributes to the literature on intertwining Sufi and Shi'i practices by examining how saintly and Husaini devotion repertoires converged in the Bhit Shah area and how this convergence contributed to transformations in ritual action and identity over the twentieth century. We explore how local devotees started adopting the remembrance of Imam Husain and Karbala through devotion to Shah Latif, which initially took place without changes in the devotees' religious affiliation. However, with the precolonial Talpurs' influence and interaction with other devotees from Shi'i urban centers of Sindh, many residents began to affirm Twelver Shi'a identification and expand their mourning practices in space and duration.

Religious freedom and reform (unfinished) of the penitentiary system
ABSTRACT: The article analyzes the possible alliance between religion and the re-educational finality of criminal sanctions in the actions of application of the art. 27, par. 3, of the Italian Constitution. The reflection also realizes a reconstruction of the legal discipline of religious freedom in the penitentiary system also with reference to the relationship with the security needs present in detention institutions. The final part is dedicated to the incomplete reform of the Italian penitentiary system in the part relating to religious freedom.

This study contributes to the line of digital dis/connection by stretching it into the concept of mediated co-presence and dealing with complex Chinese acquaintance networks on WeChat, thereby creatively proposing three modes of digital interactivity—co-presence, dysco-presence, and disco-presence. Therein, dysco-presence and disco-presence refer to resistance awareness and resistance actions toward co-presence, respectively. Based on a 2-year ethnographic study of Chinese youth, we further reveal the complex combination of mediated dis/dys/co-presence and acquaintance networks on WeChat. Ambient co-presence enables WeChat users to extend their social interactivity with acquaintance networks in a superficial dimension, while guanxi maintenance determines that they cannot completely quit WeChat-mediated co-presence, resulting in an ambivalent dysco-presence. Yet disco-presence comprises the ambiguous strategies of human and technological aggregation that offer possibilities for reorganizing resistance, temporality, and sociality.

AbstractAn influential perspective argues that voters use interest group ratings and endorsements to infer their representatives' actions and to hold them accountable. This paper interrogates a key assumption in this literature: that voters correctly interpret these cues, especially cues from groups with whom they disagree. For example, a pro-redistribution voter should support her representative less when she learns that Americans for Prosperity, an economically conservative group, gave her representative a 100 per cent rating. Across three studies using real interest groups and participants' actual representatives, we find limited support for this assumption. When an interest group is misaligned with voters' views and positively rates or endorses their representative, voters often: (1) mistakenly infer that the group shares their views, (2) mistakenly infer that their representative shares their views, and (3) mistakenly approve of their representative more. We call this tendency heuristic projection.

Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is thought to account for nearly a third of deaths worldwide, with ischemic heart disease, including acute coronary syndromes such as myocardial infarction, accounting for 1.7 million deaths per year. There is a clear need for interventions to impart cardioprotection against ischemia. Here, we show that the slowly activating voltage-gated potassium current (IKs) potentiator ML277 imparts cardioprotection against ischemia in cellular and whole-heart models by modulating the action potential duration. In three different metabolic inhibition and reperfusion models, an increased contractile recovery and cell survival was observed with ML277, indicative of protection. Finally, ML277 reduced infarct size in an ex vivo Langendorff coronary ligation model, including if only applied on reperfusion. In conclusion, potentiation of the IKs with ML277 imparted a cardioprotection that was equivalent to the protection reported previously by ischemic preconditioning. These data suggest that IKs potentiation may be therapeutically useful in acute coronary syndromes.

This paper aims to study the effect of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on brand image and brand equity and its impact on consumer satisfaction. The study follows a quantitative methodology, using the implementation of an online questionnaire distributed to people who bought, during the pandemic, a product that used a CSR action. Subsequently, data were analyzed through Smart PLS, following the Structural Equation Model. It was possible to conclude that the CSR initiatives positively affect consumer satisfaction through the mediating effect of brand image and brand equity. Further, brand image and brand equity improve when companies use CSR initiatives, and, despite what previous research has concluded, consumer satisfaction is not affected directly when CSR initiatives are used. This research has also showed that CSR's impact on brand image is higher for men, and CSR initiatives' impact on brand equity is also higher for regular purchase consumers.

Metropolitan government is still an unfinished business in Spain. An example of this is the metropolitan area of Valencia. The aim of this article is to learn about the process that has led to the current situation of a lack of metropolitan government and to propose actions that will help to make it a reality in the not-too-distant future. To this end, it analyses the history and the current regulations, and it is completed with the opinions and contributions of academics and politicians. The result is that, although there is no political will to include the consolidation of a metropolitan government in Valencia in the current political agenda, it is possible to set in motion initiatives of different types, on the part of local administrations and civil society, which can take advantage of the existing governance structures to advance toward a metropolitan government in the medium term.
