Valenzuela et al talk about social media and smartphones. Social media and smartphones, the latter carrying this newest of mankind's means of communication and activism, have in many cases sewed as agents of change for both good and ill. Chile is experiencing a social media frenzy. Nearly 95% of Chilean Internet users have an account on a social networking site, which they check several times a day.
