; Democracy has been tried to be defined with many different concepts since its emergence. The most accepted among these was that it was a political regime and that the self-directed mass of the principally managed group was self-directed. While there is a direct involvement of the rulers in the ages in the past, many different reasons, from technology to population growth, from the size of the states to the change of organizational structures, do not allow the direct participation of the people in the administration on a general scale. However, in democratic governments, participatory democracy model is adopted as an appropriate model in local organizations to meet the demands of the people to participate in the administration. Political parties, which can be seen as indispensable elements of democracy, produce various policies in order to best meet the demands of the public to participate in the administration, make promises about the issue before the elections and announce what they will do if they are elected. The purpose of this study; before the local elections of political parties in Turkey put forward in the context of local democracy and the policies they promised to implement if elected it is to analyze comparatively. The universe of the research; Turkey is the political parties who participated in the local elections held in 2014 and 2019. The sample consists of 5 political parties with the highest votes in these elections. In the research, descriptive method was preferred from qualitative methods, local election declarations / manifestos of political parties were examined by using document analysis technique and data on the subject were obtained. It has been observed that local participation is seen as an important policy by political parties and various levels of pre-election promises.

In this study, I report the results of a pretest-posttest, control group experiment in which some of my more than 500 respondents were exposed to factual information about celebrity support for political parties and some were not. I proceed from the assumption that celebrity political activity is more likely to influence citizens' views of political parties than it is to affect either citizens' vote choices or views of individual candidates. I make this assumption based on the work of Green, Palmquist, and Schickler, who posit that party identification is a social identity. The results provide support for this notion. Specifically, they show that celebrity political activity can indeed influence some citizens' views of political parties. The results show also that celebrity political activity can affect citizens' views of politically active celebrities. [Reprinted by permission of Sage Publications Inc., copyright holder.]

The study sheds light on the intra-party elections in Pakistani political parties. It is an essential measure of internal party democracy and a gateway to promote ordinary members from bottom to top in parties. However, the grass-roots members of political parties ignore in all crucial decisions making within the party. Intra-party democracy played an energetic rule in the production of new leadership through proper channels from the grass-roots level. The idea of intra-party democracy is not very easy to describe; it is significant for the stability of the political system. It trained the grass-roots workers to defend and explain the party policies in the right way. Hence, intra-party democracy provides a leading role to all the registered members to participate through the direct or indirect way in all critical decisions making. Pakistani political parties and state politics revolve around personalities and some monastic families. The mainstream political parties of Pakistan avoided an intra-party election and leading leadership dominated from the top through direct nomination on the will of the party founder/president. This paper further explores the challenges faced by a real and authentic intra-party election in Pakistani political parties that why political parties avoided an intra-party election.

The article discusses the role of youth organizations of political parties in the political socialization of young people during the 2020 parliamentary elections in Georgia. In-depth interviews with young representatives of 9 political entities (which crossed the 1% threshold) revealed opportunities for political socialization of youth. It was found that political parties in their ranks do little to encourage young people to develop politically and develop their political careers from youth organizations of political parties. In today's political parties, there is a practical attitude towards the members of youth organizations, which leads to the nihilistic attitude of the youth towards the parties and politics in general, which is why they often leave the party. The pre-election activities of the youth organizations of the parties during the 2020 parliamentary elections were different from the activities of the post-election period. It has been found that the number of young people in the youth wing has dropped dramatically since the election due to a reduction in resources or initiatives by the party.

Language is not merely a means of communication; it is also a carrier of the ideology of the people who speak it though it may not be easily discernible at times. This implies that language and ideology bear a very close relationship with each other. The present study reports how language and ideology are interwoven in the form of slogans found in the political gatherings and rallies of three mainstream political parties of Pakistan: PMLN(Pakistan Muslim League, N),PPP(Pakistan People's Party) and PTI(Pakistan Tehreek –e- Insaf). To critically analyse the selected slogans, methods of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) offered by Van Dijk and specific meanings which are not clear to the ordinary audience. The present study also aimed at finding out how the hidden ideology manipulates the judgements and reaction of the public.

Sustaining democratic governance is a philosophy hinged largely on the functionality of the institutions of governance in line with democratic process and norms. The study established that virile democratic system is an illusion when a chunk of citizens are less concerned and disinterested in political activities of their country especially when it comes to voting. That is, a carefree attitude by the citizens towards voting is inimical and an aberration to widely celebrated modern democracy. Expectedly, political parties play a crucial role in citizens' participation in politics, because they are mobilization forces. When political parties stimulate violence then it becomes a problem. The core interest of this study therefore is to investigate the interplay between campaign characters of political parties and low voters turn out in Nigeria. Secondary method of data collection was adopted, as published article, books and relevant reports were captured from the national dailies. This study out found that in Nigeria, political parties are liabilities rather than assets to the Nigerian Democracy, considering their attitude that encourage voters' apathy. Indeed, failed electoral promises; ideological bareness; electoral violence, high level of indiscipline and unprincipled party defection characterizes Nigeria's political parties and by implication stimulate among the citizens a mood of pessimism about partisan politics. As the 2019 general elections had been concluded and Nigerians continue to yearn for sustainable democratic governance, political parties should reposition themselves; by being well grounded on ethos and ideology and build confidence and trust in the electorates. Hence, there is a compelling need for Nigerian political parties to be democratic, as democracy is incontrovertibly inconceivable without virile political parties.
