Character education is so important that the essentiality is emphasized in families, schools, societies and even nations nowadays. Modern citizens should cultivate basic character education, in which responsibility is a character trait. In addition to situations, good instructional design and the application of proper instructional strategies, different experience operation in sporting activities, learning social behavior by participating in sports, and developing sportsmanship for social life are covered in character education for developing good character. Nonequivalent pretest/posttest control group design is applied in this study to precede quasi-experimental study, with total 112 students in two classes in a university in Fujian Province as the experimental research subjects. An experimental class (56 students) is taught with Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility, and the other control class (56 students) remains traditional teaching. The experimental teaching research is preceded for 32 weeks (3 hours per week for total 96 hours); Sport Education Model is integrated into the instruction in the last 16 weeks, but not the first 16 weeks. The research results are summarized as followings: Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility presents remarkable effects on sense of responsibility; Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility reveals notable effects on exercise self-efficacy; Sport Education Model appears significant effects on sense of responsibility; Sport Education Model presents remarkable effects on exercise self-efficacy; Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility integrated Sport Education Model could best enhance sense of responsibility; Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility integrated Sport Education Model could best promote exercise self-efficacy. According to the results, suggestions are proposed, expecting to cultivate good physical fitness of students and enhance the motor skills to achieve the idea of Sport for All as well as to cultivate personal responsibility and teamwork spirit of students.

Abstrak Dalam proses menerapkan penilaian otentik memiliki tujuan meningkatkan kualitas murid dalam keahlian yang profesional. Penilaian ini telah diterapkan sejak tahun 2013 tetapi tidak semua sekolah menerapkan ini. Umumnya proses penilaian ditangani oleh guru, jadi penelitian ini akan mendeskripsikan beberapa aspek yang berhubungan dengan persepsi guru terhadap penilaian otentik, masalah yang guru hadapi berdasarkan pengalamannya, dan solusi untuk menangani masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini termasuk pada penelitian kualitatif. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui angket dan wawancara. Penelitian ini diadakan di dua SMA di daerah desa di Tuban, Indonesia yang memiliki perbedaan akreditasi sekolah. Untuk subjeknya, penelitian ini membutuhkan seorang guru dari setiap sekolah untuk mengisi angket dan mengadakan wawancara. Data dianalisis melalui langkah- langkah: mengorganisasikan dan menyiapkan, mengkode dan mengurangi, menafsirkan dan menyajikan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru di daerah desa menerapkan semua tipe dari penilaian otentik. Pada hasil kedua ini menunjukkan masalah- masalah guru dalam penerapan penilaiann tersebut diantaranya adalah kesulitan murid pada kemampuan menulis, keterbatasan kesadaran siswa pada proses penilaian, keobjektifan guru dalam menilai siswa, ketidakcukupan fasilitas dalam melaksanakan penilaian otentik, kesulitan membuat RPP, dan memanajemen waktu. Terakhir untuk hasil ketiga ini menunjukkan solusi guru dalam menangani masalah. Beberapa solusinya harus menjadi bagian dalam kebijakan sekolah dan pemerintah, tetapi untuk lainnya ini dapat ditangani secara mandiri oleh guru. Kata kunci: Penilaian, penilaian otentik, dan menulis. Abstract In the process of applying authentic assessment, it has a goal to encourage students' quality in professional skill. This assessment has been applied since 2013 but not all schools apply it. Commonly in the assessment process, it is handled by the teachers, so this study will describe several aspects related to the teachers' perception toward authentic assessment, the problems that the teachers face based on their experience, and the solutions to handle the problems. This study belongs to qualitative research. The data were collected through questionnaires and interviews. It was conducted in two Senior High Schools of rural areas in Tuban, Indonesia that has different school's accreditation. For the subject, this study needed a teacher from each school to fill the questionnaire and to conduct the interview. The data were analyzed through these steps; organizing and preparing, coding and reducing, interpreting and representing. The results of this study showed that teachers in the rural area had similar perceptions of the authentic assessment. The second finding showed the teachers' problems for applying the assessment such as students' low ability in writing, students' limited ability of self awareness in assessment process, teachers' objectivity to assess the students, the insufficient facility for conducting authentic assessment, the difficulties to make lesson plan, and the difficulties for conducting time management. Finally, for the last result, it showed teachers' solutions to solve the problems. Some of the solutions must be part of school and government policies, but for the others, it can be handled by the teachers independently. Key terms: Assessment, authentic assessment, and writing.

The accessibility of modern computer technologies in schools is increasing all over the globe. Generally, the presence of a well-equipped and functional computer lab facility in school provides the opportunity not only to modernize educational methods but also to augment students and teachers' interest towards the efficient use of computer technology along with access to quality education. In line with prevailing global trends, federal and provincial governments in Pakistan especially Government of the Punjab also made concerted efforts to provide computer lab facility in secondary schools in past two decades. In this context, this article mainly focused on examining the usefulness of computer labs for enhancement of secondary school students learning experiences. Descriptive survey design was used to achieve the objectives of this study in which a self-developed questionnaire designed on Likert five-point format was administered to 320 sample students selected from 32 secondary schools using cluster and stratified random sampling techniques. Both the descriptive (i.e., percentage, mean, SD) and/or inferential statistics (i.e., independent-sample t-test) were used to analyze collected data. The results revealed that secondary school students believe, with a higher level of consensus, that computer labs are useful for enhancement of their learning. Some concerns, however, were also highlighted by students regarding the availability of required physical facilities in computer labs. It was recommended for school authorities to provide well-equipped and fully functional computer labs in schools to achieve maximum benefits for students.

International nursing students in the country of Georgia face many stressors beyond native Georgians in the same context. These students who have chosen to move to a new country where they do not speak the language, have different food and climate and even look very differently than the local population have developed different coping mechanisms that are both effective and not effective. This descriptive study provides a basic assessment of stressors and coping mechanisms currently being experienced by this international community.

This article reports on a study of 116 certified teachers of students with visual impairments who responded to a questionnaire containing a teacher-efficacy scale, a hypothetical case report, and questions about the teachers. The study found that a teacher's current job placement was the most distinctive teacher variable affecting the teacher's placement recommendations for students. Other teacher variables that influenced these recommenations were type of community, teaching efficacy, and years of teaching experience in a specific setting.

This study examines the effect of a Career Placement Project using enhanced career services specifically designed for community college students with disabilities. The 4 areas of services provided by the project were career exploration, Job readiness, Job‐seeking skills, and Job shadowing. A pretest‐posttest design using a participant group and a control group measured change in career readiness. Based on the data, it seems that the Career Placement Project was effective in increasing the career preparedness of participating students with disabilities.

In line with the implementation of the 2013 curriculum, as it was promised by the government that teaching materials relating to student books and teacher handbooks should be provided. However, there are no such things available yet as promised. This creates difficulties for students in learning activities and teachers in teaching activities. Therefore, the purpose of this development is to produce the final product in the form of student's activity sheet (lembar kegiatan siswa/LKS) as learning support for trading company accounting practice material on basic competencies applying transaction records into specialized trading company journals, analyzing the feasibility of worksheets, and analyzing student responses to LKS developed using types of research and development. A model introduced by Moelenda, ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), was applied. The results showed a content feasibility score of 89.36% with very feasible criteria, the feasibility of presentation was 89.84% with very feasible criteria, language feasibility of 84.54% with very feasible criteria, and graphic eligibility of 86.66% with fair criteria. The average four components of the study and validation are 87.6% with very feasible criteria. While the average score of the percentage of student responses is 83% with very good criteria. So that it can be concluded that the developed worksheet is stated to be very feasible to use in the learning process and obtain a positive response from students.

Thirty years into the HIV&AIDS pandemic, the world is still striving to reduce new HIV infections and halve AIDS related deaths by 2015. However, sub-Saharan Africa still faces the burden of HIV infections as governments and private institutions try out different prevention strategies (UNAIDS 2011). Several scholars have argued that multiple concurrent sexual partnerships (MCSP) pose the greatest risk for new HIV infections. Furthermore, research has also linked MCSPs to mobility and migration. This paper draws from the project 'Sexual identities and HIV&AIDS: an exploration of international university students' experiences" which employed memory work, photo-voice, drawings and focus group discussions with ten (5male and 5female) Post Graduate international students at a South African university. Focussing on the data produced through memory work, I present university students' lived-experience narratives of mobility and migration in relation to how they perceive MCSPs and HIV risk. The findings show how students construct their gendered and sexual identities in a foreign context and how these constructions intersect with their choices of sexual relationships and HIV risk. I argue from the findings that Higher Education Institutions should be treated as high risk 'spaces of vulnerability' and hence health support services and HIV intervention programming policies should be geared towards addressing such vulnerabilities in order to create sustainable teaching and learning environments that allow for all students to explore their full capabilities.

The objectives of this study were to provide estimates of indoor tanning device use among US high school students and provide baseline data before implementation of a 10% excise tax on indoor tanning device use mandated by recent federal health care reform legislation. We examined the frequency of indoor tanning device use by using data from the 2009 national Youth Risk Behavior Survey. Overall, 15.6% of students used an indoor tanning device during the 12 months before the survey; almost half of those students used an indoor tanning device 10 or more times. Reported use and frequency of use varied by age, sex, and race/ethnicity. Given the high prevalence of indoor tanning device use among US high school students and the associated risk of melanoma, strategies to reduce exposure must be examined.

The impetus for the development of coaching as a professional managerial activity is based on the needs and requirements of a modern sustainable society. This paper aims to explore the awareness of academic students about the coaching approach and to formulate recommendations for its application in the academic environment so that students are prepared for the requirements of practice. This article focuses on the views of experts in the field of the coaching approach as a means of improving communication in the academic environment, characterizes communication skills and the coaching approach, and describes coaching models and their benefits and barriers. This research aims to survey the awareness of the coaching approach among college and university students in Slovakia and the possibilities of its application in the academic environment. The primary research was carried out by the inquiry method with 689 students. An evaluation of the questionnaire and a statistical evaluation of the established hypotheses and assumptions concerning the coaching approach were conducted. According to the survey, 468 students, representing 68% of respondents, had knowledge about coaching. Furthermore, 68% of students had or have doubts about achieving their goals during their studies. According to the results of the survey, only 24% of students had experience with coaching. Cooperation with a coach was regarded as beneficial for 76% of the students who had already experienced coaching lectures who took part in the survey. The proposition of the students was the implementation of the subject "Foundations of coaching", which could be offered to be taught to all students at the University of Zilina, Slovakia. The students of managerial fields would benefit by enhancing their leadership skills and providing support to their working teams, completing their final thesis, searching for professional job opportunities, and also coping with everyday life and stressful situations. Finally, we suggest the organization of introductory full-day workshops in specific areas of coaching for students of management, who are future managers. This will help to raise the awareness of the coaching approach at the University of Zilina in cooperation with the Counseling and Career Center and its activities.
