The topic of household division of labour has generated a considerable body of empirical research focusing on identifying determinants that can explain why the allocation of tasks has been persistently gendered for decades. Against the backdrop of couples' increasingly complex and diverse sociostructural compositions in modern Western societies, conceiving household division of labour as a heterogeneous and dyadic phenomenon is indispensable in understanding modern household practices, both in theoretical and empirical respects. In this article, we address these aspects by adopting an integrative stance drawing on theoretical approaches from household economics, social exchange, and gender and class theories. Based on a large-scale German actor-partner survey (pairfam), we use the model of dyadic classification, a finite mixture dyadic classification technique that takes into account relational interdependence between various traits of spouses and diverse tasks inside and outside the home. The study reveals different dyadic constellations hidden in common individualistic, unidirectional regression models.

In diesem Bericht werden die Möglichkeiten und Einschränkungen der Aktualisierung der Berufsklassifikation nach Blossfeld mit der Klassifikation der Berufe 2010 untersucht. Die Datenbasis ist das Mikrozensus Scientific-Use-File 2012, das doppelcodierte Berufsangaben nach alter und neuer Klassifikation der Berufe enthält. Ergänzend werden nach ISCO-08 codierte Berufsangaben verwendet. Im Vergleich zur Version auf Basis der alten Klassifikation der Berufe 1992 sind die Randverteilungen der neuen Version weitgehend gleich, doch ist die neue Version mit Fehlklassifikationen behaftet und führt zu einem Zeitreihenbruch. Trotz dieser Einschränkungen weisen insgesamt die Analysen zur Validität der aktualisierten Berufsklassifikation auf eine gute Praxistauglichkeit und Aussagekraft hin.

'Das vorzustellende Instrument dient der Bestimmung des sozialen Prestiges über die in den Demographischen Standards (StaBA 1999) enthaltene Variable 'Stellung im Beruf'. Die Klassifikation des sozialen Prestiges geschieht in fünf Kategorien. Sofern eine Klassifikation von sozialem Prestige in groben Kategorien zur Bestimmung des sozio-ökonomischen Status ausreicht, kann dieses Instrument ein aufwendiges Erfassen von Beruf oder beruflicher Tätigkeit ersetzen. Denn eine Vielzahl von Studien erfasst den Beruf offen, klassifiziert die Antworten nach der 'International Standard Classification of Occupations' oder nach der 'Klassifikation der Berufe' des Statistischen Bundesamtes (1992) und überträgt die Berufsklassifikationen in einen Prestige-, Status- oder Klassenindex. Zur Bestimmung des sozio-ökonomischen Status würde es aber reichen, neben Bildung und Einkommen eine ebenso grobe Variable zum beruflichen Prestige zur Verfügung zu haben. In diesen Fällen könnte der hier vorzustellende Index die aufwendige und teure Erfassung und Kodierung offener Berufsangaben ersetzen.' (Autorenreferat)

Résumé Quel sera l'impact de la nouvelle classification des emplois sur notre travail et sur nos relations professionnelles ? Voilà la question qui s'est formulée au cours d'une intervention qui m'avait été demandée par un Centre socioculturel. Pour comprendre la nature et les objectifs de cette opération de recatégorisation et de redéfinition de l'activité et des compétences qui touchent l'ensemble de ce secteur, j'ai procédé à l'analyse des significations introduites par la nouvelle grille de classification au cœur de l'organisation du travail social. Cet exemple concret d'analyse des interactions signifiantes éclairent non seulement les difficultés vécues dans le travail social et socioculturel aujourd'hui, mais aussi la manière dont une vision du monde s'impose aux subjectivités et colonise l'espace social.

Today in Ukraine people are quite acute experiencing different social, political and economic changes. One of the negative consequences of global and local crises in our country is the growth of social inequality and insecurity of the population. Therefore, social exclusion as the process applies to all layers of the population. But in this article we want to focus on the youth. Because young people are the fulcrum and the formation of the country. In connection with a variety of problems and needs of the modern world, young people are not always able to independently overcome their own difficulties. The article considers stages of formation of the process of social exclusion, comparing foreign and domestic establishment. Although the first attempts to identify the concept of "social exclusion" began in the 40s of the twentieth century, but the term 'exclusion' emerged in French sociology in the 60-ies of XX century, which was explained from the economic point of view. And in Ukraine, consideration of this concept was not defined until 2002 in the study of poverty. This indicates the imperfection and the relevance of the study of our state in this matter. Substantiated scientific approaches of domestic and foreign scientists to the definition of "social exclusion", "excluded person", "youth", "socially excluded youth". Determined by the eccentricity of providing definitions to the terms on the one hand, and pereplyunet opinions of scientists on the other. Primarily, this is due to the conditions, time and problems in the study of concepts. So, social exclusion – the exclusion of individuals or social groups the social structure of society and social processes, the creation of conditions that do not allow these individuals or groups play in society, a significant role (according to N. In. Thick, 2003); socially excluded person is the object of social work, which, through economic, political, religious, social, psychological and medical barriers completely or partially lost touch with society (actually the author's definition, 2017); youth are persons aged 14 to 28 years (in Ukraine, the official age of youth as of 2018); socially excluded young people as identical to the concept of socially excluded persons, but within 14-28 years. On the basis of research, we have proposed a classification of socially excluded young people over the biological, social and individual characteristics, which gives the opportunity to identify the factors and the ability to prevent the spread of this phenomenon. ; . Одним з негативних наслідків глобальних та локальних криз у нашій державі є зростання соціальної нерівності та незахищеності населення. Тому соціальне виключення як процес торкається всіх верств населення, особливо молодь. Молоді люди є точкою опори та становлення країни. Проте, при виникненні різноманітних проблем і потреб сучасного світу не завжди можуть самостійно з ними справитися. У статті розглянуто становлення процесу соціального виключення; обґрунтовано наукові підходи вітчизняних і зарубіжних вчених до визначення понять "соціальне виключення", "соціально виключена особа", "молодь", "соціально виключена молодь". Встановлено, що перші спроби пояснити суть поняття "соціальне виключення" пов'язують із 40-ми роками ХХ століття; сам термін з'явився у французькій соціології в 60-тих роках ХХ століття. This article first surveys a significant set of issues that are intertwined in asking whether social classes are real. It distinguishes two different notions of class: class as organized social entities and class as types of individuals based on individual characteristics. There is good evidence for some classes as social entities—ruling classes and underclasses in some societies—but other classes in contemporary society are sometimes best thought of in terms of types, not social entities. Implications are drawn for pluralist accounts of social classification and the individualism-holism dispute.

Pourquoi Eugène Morel, bibliothécaire « à la Nationale », choisit-il d'introduire de manière précoce, avant la Première Guerre mondiale, la classification Dewey dans la bibliothèque populaire de Levallois-Perret ? Cette expérimentation visionnaire, peu encouragée par les pionniers de la classification universelle, trouve ses racines dans la propre histoire de Morel, artiste, écrivain expérimentant une forme de polygraphie, entre romans, articles, pièces de théâtre et écriture qui se voulait scientifique et « bibliothéconomique ». En adaptant la classification Dewey aux besoins d'une bibliothèque populaire, Morel poursuit son rêve de mettre la culture à la portée de tous, et la lutte qu'il s'est assignée de lutter contre les « cimetières de livres » non classés.

This article describes how with the tremendous popularity in the usage of social media has led to the explosive growth in unstructured data available on various social networking sites. Sentiment analysis of textual data collected from such platforms has become an important research area. In this article, the sentiment classification approach which employs an emotion detection technique is presented. To identify the emotions this paper uses the NRC lexicon based approach for identifying polarity of emotions. A score is computed to quantify emotions obtained from NRC lexicon approach. The method proposed has been tested on twitter datasets of government policies and reforms, more about current NDA government initiatives in India. The polarity components apply and classify the tweets into eight predefined emotions. This article performs both quantitative and sentiment analysis processes with the objective of analyzing the opinion conveyed to each social content, assign a category (+ve, -ve & neutral) or numbered sentiment score. The assigned scores have been classified using six different machine classification algorithms. Good classification results are achieved with the data.

While critical marketing studies have discussed algorithm-driven marketing's role in governmentality, subjectivity formation and capitalist accumulation, its role in shaping class inequalities is less studied. Drawing on the performativity of marketing, 'classification situations' and critical algorithm studies, this paper uses the case of credit marketing to propose a twofold framework to analyse how algorithmic marketing shapes the cultural and economic inequalities of class. First, algorithms used for categorizing consumers and matching them with marketing messages and products provide access (1) to different symbolic resources and (2) to credit products with different financial consequences to different consumers depending on their categorization, which contribute to the creation of cultural and economic inequalities, respectively. Second, algorithms of financial advice devices overtake parts of consumer choice. Insofar as different financial preferences and rationalities are scripted into the devices for different client groups, these technologies constitute an additional process that affects social divisions.

The narratives presented in this article were collected during two periods of fieldwork in postapartheid South Africa. The narrators were people I have known for some time. They experience problems with convulsions, spasticity and tremors and have sought various forms of protection, healing and treatment. To me, their stories have sparked an interest in the way that diseases and health problems are being classified and understood, and how the various interpretations influence people's perception of afflictions and the afflicted, which in turn has an impact on the social standing of the people concerned and their relationships with other people. My work is based on a sociocultural understanding of afflictions and the afflicted. In my view, such perceptions are rooted in historic, political and social processes that are reflected in individuals and their bodies. In this context, the body becomes an existential foundation for culture and subjectivity (Csordas, 1994), and afflictions such as convulsions and spasticity are not reduced to mere physiological and biological processes. Based on how local practices encompass healing and indigenous knowledge system create an alternative to explanation within biomedical knowledge system. I discuss social constructs that shape perceptions of person and self, and which are also key to how people with specific health problems may appear in society. ; acceptedVersion
