The article considers economic and social conditions, as well as the process of establishing a legal regime of self-employment. The positive intermediate results of its functioning are indicated, the content is disclosed, including legislative novels. Based on the analysis of law enforcement practice, problem places were identified (ambiguous qualifications of the activities of self-employed citizens; uncertainty with the choice of a court competent to resolve disputes involving new economic entities; low income bar; "loss" of individual sources from the subject of taxation; "false identity," etc.), proposals were made to eliminate them.

Religion can become an instrument of manipulation and destabilization in society, everything depends on people who have access to the levers of power, the position of Church hierarchs and the level of religious literacy of the population. The article is devoted to the study of the concept of the correlation of national identity and Christian universalism, as well as the model of Church–State relations in the modern social teaching of the Russian Orthodox Church, in the context of the analysis of some aspects of the religiosity of the Belarusian student youth, namely quantitative indicators of trust in the Church, attendance of divine services, and confessional affiliation.

The aim of the article is to examine whether and what are the characteristics of political science research and reflection conducted in Poland. To achieve this, two dimensions of specificity were distinguished, namely disciplinary specificity (features that distinguish political science from other disciplines, especially those within the social sciences) and local specificity (characteristic features of Polish political science compared to the discipline practiced in other countries, particularly Anglo-Saxon). The specificity of Polish political science was then analysed in four fundamental areas that determine the discipline's identity: 1) the subject of research, 2) research methods, 3) subdisciplinary structure, and 4) structure of theories functioning within the discipline.

AbstractDrawing on in‐depth interview data from an Islamic orthodox social movement in Pakistan, we investigate how participants invoke religious ideology to forge anti‐consumption behaviour in opposition to prevailing cultural norms. We identify anti‐consumption behaviour fuelled by foreign values, foreign lifestyles, Islamic values, and Islamic lifestyles. Coloured by a value system that steers them toward a distinct Islamic lifestyle and away from alternatives, our religious participants effuse sensibilities of spiritual propriety into their (anti‐)consumption choices. Our study contributes to the understanding of how religious anti‐consumption, in the face of countervailing alternatives, reinforces a specific religious identity in consumers.

AbstractThrough an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis design, this study explored career experiences of eight self‐identified feminist women. This study contributes to existing literature through focusing on the intersection of feminist identity and career development. The findings indicated that having a community of support, particularly from other women, is influential in career progression. All participants noted adversity, however, they recognized when situations were either sexist or unfair and did not appear to internalize these experiences. Implications include making space to discuss the impact of social identities on life decisions, prioritizing inclusive environments that mitigate adversity, and fostering communities of support.

What happens when trust ends? This article identifies a hitherto overlooked possibility, a performance of trust. Comprising ritualized diplomacy, performances of trust communicate the products of trust, the values that define membership of an international organization, but do not constitute those values. Realizing the obscuring, subjunctive, orthopraxic, and located nature of these ritual performances helps distinguish performance from other social processes of identity and interest construction. Demonstrated in the context of Southeast Asian regionalism, performances of trust suggest the relevance of trust in explaining what states and their leaders say and do may outlive the presence of trust itself.

The article focuses on the revolutionary period of 1821 and examines how the bloody uprising of the Greeks against the Ottomans, in conjunction with the international environment, transformed the notion of the nation. Before the revolution, the term "nation" had mostly cultural connotations and, from a political point of view, was a neutral category within an imperial framework, without claims to be the primary and the dominant element of political identity. The revolutionary period transformed the perception of the nation into an active political and social force and into the most important actor/subject of the historical and political processes.

This article addresses the sexual gap in Chinese migration studies with a multi-dimensional analysis of Chinese migrant young gay men's urban integration. Based on life history interviews, conducted in Shenzhen, a migrant metropolis in South China, this research examines how this migrant-friendly city offers these migrant young gay men possibilities and at the same time, limits their urban integration by taking economic, social relation and identity issues into account. The author concludes this article with a discussion on sexuality's constitutive role in shaping the complicated dynamics of Chinese migrant young gay men's urban integration. (J Contemp China/GIGA)

Realising national strategies and projects aimed at various social groups, it is necessary to take a new level of understanding of the nationwide idea expressing the interests of new generations. Making the national priorities of state policy meaningful for various youth groups seems to be impossible without a targeted system of patriotic education, value education and certain cultural identity. The ideas of patriotism, spirituality, and cultural identification occupy a special place in all priority spheres of a society in educational work with young people. They are manifested at the junction of integral and border disciplines – political theology, sports policies and sports philosophy.

Anthony Jerry discusses the history and challenges for recognitions of Black Mexico and the broader Pacific region of Latin America. Jerry describes his research on a Black Mexican community of Costa Chica and its complex racial identity development. Responding to Jerry's presentation, Alex Borucki describes the potential value of conducting comparative research that connects the movements of, as well as the locations where, Black communities developed in the Pacific regions of Latin America. Sabrina Smith suggests more attention to the transpacific slave trade, as well as the emergence of significant social and racial contestations by Afro-Mexicans in both historical and contemporary contexts.

The poet Sikhamani is a teacher and a Dalit poet who writes in Telugu. His contribution to the corpus of Dalit poetry in Telugu is significant. Sikhamani's poetry exposes the hypocrisy, inhumanity, exploitation, atrocities, discrimination, etc., of the caste Hindu society. The Black Rainbow: Dalit Poems in Telugu (2000), a collection of Sikhamani's poems, portrays the problems of Dalit lives. His use of mythological figures, metaphors, similes, allusions, etc., enrich his poetry. Every poem reflects a protest/rebellious attitude from which the identity of Dalits emerges. He attacks the physical, cultural, social and even literary atrocities perpetrated over Dalits and interrogates Brahmanism.

Can independent emigration press change the reality of Polish diaspora?
The article analyses the subject of utilizing the potential of the columns of the independent Polish press and the internet to consolidate the emigration environment in order to preserve their national identity and improve their living standards abroad. It compares the social activities and the articles of the "Polish Daily and Soldier's Daily" – the organ of the "steadfast" generation with similar activities of the independent periodical "The New Time", which is issued in London from the year 2006 to the present day and serves as the representative of Polish intelligence abroad.

Abstract
Some key categories in the study of language and society – such as the notion of identity and the very notion of language itself – have come under critical scrutiny with the rise of concepts such as translanguaging. While acknowledging the epistemological and political necessity of this critique I caution against the conflation of concepts with social realities. At the same time, I argue for a critical practice that does not subsume the local in favor of global theoretical trends, which can result from conceptual reification occurring due to an insidious nexus between neo-liberal forces and global inequalities in knowledge production.

This research investigates the novel of "looking for walid masoud" as a novel of looking for self, and looking for being, and identity, in which the place conflict for the Palestinian in his exile is investigated. And the characters insides and their psychological contradictions are appeared, so, it draw a photo for Palestinian scholar in his suffering through relationships which relate characters with the main character within different circles of loosing through coherent narrative building suitable with the privacy of both social and political reality. The research depended on textual analytical methodology opening on the narration science and its procedure.

This case study uses three different frameworks of inquiry to examine Turtles All the Way Down by John Green (2017) with a disability lens. The analysis extends beyond the traditional medical/social dichotomy and considers how disability is tied to both agency and identity. Narratives and counter-narratives of disability are also investigated, as well as disability markers used in previous scholarship. The discussion concludes with an argument to include the novel in secondary English classes to create mental health allies. A consideration for medical humanities scholars is also included to use Green's text with patients with OCD, as a way for readers to find an identifiable protagonist.
