Offering discretionary preferential treatments (DPTs) to selected customers is a prevalent practice in hospitality services, yet its nature and effects on nonbeneficiaries are unclear. Drawing from social comparison and appraisal theories and relationship marketing literature, this study examines how nonbeneficiaries appraise and respond to witnessing service employees offering DPTs to others through the separate emotions of malicious and benign envy, that drive their respective contrasting reactions. Nonbeneficiaries' relationship strength with the firm and their perceived continuity of the preferential treatment (PT) further alter the proposed effects on experiences of envy. A customer survey and three experiments (laboratory and field) consistently affirm the distinctiveness of DPT and support a dual pathway model of the mediating processes of malicious and benign envy on nonbeneficiaries' behavioral outcomes (e.g., derogating the beneficiary, cooperating with the employee, loyalty to the service company). The findings also uncover a double-edged sword effect of a strong nonbeneficiary-firm relationship: It enhances the effects of DPT on both malicious and benign envy. Interestingly, this enhancing effect of relationship strength for eliciting malicious (benign) envy can be reduced (strengthened) if the PT is perceived to be available on an ongoing basis.

ABSTRAK Permasalahan yang terjadi saat pemilu dilaksanakan oleh Komisi Pemilihan Umum Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan pada tahun 2014, terjadi pada setiap tahapan. Diantaranya adalah terkait Daftar Pemilih Tetap atau yang disebut DPT yang tidak akurat, yang diakibatkan oleh kinerja Panitia Pendaftaran Pemilih (PANTARLI) dan Panitia Pemungutan Suara (PPS). Akibatnya banyak pemilih yang telah memenuhi syarat tapi tidak terdaftar dalam DPT. Selain itu realita yang ada masih didapati juga yakni terkait dengan Daftar Pemilih Khusus (DPK), mereka adalah warga masyarakat yang berdomisili dan telah memenuhi syarat tapi tidak tercantum dalam DPT. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kinerja Komisi Pemilihan Umum Minahasa Selatan dalam pelaksanaan pemilu legislatif tahun 2014 khususnya terkait tentang Daftar Pemilih Tetap (DPT). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah interview dan wawancara dengan informan yang diangap mempunyai kompetensi terkait dengan topic penelitian. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa kinerja KPU Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan menjadi kurang maksimal disebabkan oleh beberapa factor, yang diantaranya terkait kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) anggota penyelenggara. This study aims to unite the Voter Information System (SIDALIH) based online between the Surabaya Mayor Election (PILWALI) and the East Java Governor Election (PILGUB). Both regional governments have a service program for prospective voters so that voters are facilitated for the use of their voting rights. PILWALI Surabaya, which in the meantime the implementation of local democracy preceded the East Java provincial government, namely in 2015, while the implementation of East Java PILGUB in 2018. Both of these democratic parties have different voter data. The implementation of PILWALI Surabaya 2015 has data on voters who are included in the Permanent Voter List (DPT) greater than the 2018 East Java PILGUB voter data on the Permanent Voter List (DPT) they have set. In 2018, there will be three years after 2015, the DPT should have been selected to the regions in a region with more data because there are additional residents every day, but the fact that there is a decrease in the number of voters in PILGUB East Java 2018 compared to PILWALI Kota Surabaya 2015. The author has examined the striking differences in the DPT data of both Election events, and how the solutions to the two elections even though the regional government is different.

Interacting particle systems with many degrees of freedom may undergo phase transitions to sustain atypical fluctuations of dynamical observables such as the current or the activity. In some cases, this leads to symmetry-broken space-time trajectories which enhance the probability of such events due to the emergence of ordered structures. Despite their conceptual and practical importance, these dynamical phase transitions (DPTs) at the trajectory level are difficult to characterize due to the low probability of their occurrence. However, during the last decade, advanced computational techniques have been developed to measure rare events in simulations of many-particle systems that allow the direct observation and characterization of these DPTs. Here we review the application of a particular rare-event simulation technique, based on cloning Monte Carlo methods, to characterize DPTs in paradigmatic stochastic lattice gases. In particular, we describe in detail some tricks and tips of the trade, paying special attention to the measurement of order parameters capturing the physics of the different DPTs, as well as to the finite-size effects (both in the system size and in the number of clones) that affect the measurements. PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to achieve a collective understanding of the capabilities required for digital procurement transformation (DPT).Design/methodology/approachThe authors contextualize theory about dynamic capabilities (DCs) to integrate the fragmented body of literature on procurement digitalization by means of a systematic literature review (SLR). By extracting and clustering capabilities, as well as proven performance outcomes from existing literature in the field, the authors develop a conceptual model of the DCs required for DPT.FindingsThe authors first introduce and define DPT and the corresponding motivations that trigger firms to invest in advanced digital technologies. Second, by adopting the DC lens, the authors provide an overview of nine microfoundations required for DPT and highlight the strategic options procurement leaders can use when strategizing about adopting combinations of digital technologies. Third, the authors present a future research agenda on DCs for DPT.Research limitations/implicationsThe developed conceptual model must be verified and enhanced through further empirical research.Practical implicationsThe conceptual model can be used by procurement leaders as a starting point and framework when strategizing about digitally transforming the procurement organization.Originality/valueThe study is the first to synthesize previous research findings on procurement digitalization through an SLR in order to develop a fine-grained conceptual model that supports practitioners and researchers alike in better understanding the capabilities required for and potential performance outcomes of DPT.

The government held a diphtheria sub-national immunization week in 2012 to overcome the problem of diphtheria outbreaks in East Java Province. Bangkalan District is the district with the high incidence of diphtheria in East Java Province. This study aims to analyze the determinants of diphtheria events in Bangkalan District after the diphtheria sub-national immunization week in 2012. This study uses a case-control study design. Case samples were taken from a total of 31 cases, and control samples were taken as many as 124 people spread in 25 case villages and25 control villages. The bivariate analysis a using chi-square test and simple logistic regression. Multivariate analysis using logistic regression. The results showed that based on the results of bivariate analysis, individual and household levels related to diphtheria events, namely the status of Diphtheria Pertussis Tetanus (DPT) immunization, sub-national immunization week status, age and mother's education. Multivariate analysis showed that factors related to the diphtheria incidence in Bangkalan District after the 2012 diphtheria sub-national immunization week were DPT immunization (p = 0.012; OR= 4.765), incomplete DPT immunization (p = 0.001; OR = 6.276), age 3- 7 years (p = 0.014; OR = 15.137), ages 7-15 years (p = 0.001; OR = 41.984), and are not immunized at the time of sub-national immunization week (p = 0.020; OR = 3.553). The conclusion of this study is the DPT immunization status, age and status of diphtheria sub-national immunization week were the dominant factors affecting the incidence of diphtheria in Bangkalan District.

This study discusses the accuracy of the final voter list (DPT) with a focus on the process of classifying voter data. At the stage of determining the DPT by the Riau KPUD, it was found that 51,469 voters Did Not Meet the Requirements (Tidak Memenuhi Syarat/TMS) registered as permanent voters. On the other hand, there are still many potential voters who are 17 years old or married and are not registered as voters. This phenomenon is a problem that has always been an evaluation material for every general election organizer. This research was conducted using a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were obtained by means of in-depth interviews with informants and collecting literature related to research issues. As a reference for analysis, this study uses the theory of democracy and the political rights of voters. The data were processed using an etic-emic approach so that a comprehensive analysis was found. The main argument of this research is that the classification and updating of data is an important step in determining the DPT to ensure that every citizen has good political rights.

Exoskeletons are an emerging form of technology that combines the skills of both machines and humans to give wearers the ability to complete physically demanding tasks that would be too strenuous for most humans. Exoskeleton adoption has the potential to both enhance and disrupt many aspects of work, including power dynamics in the workplace and the human-machine interactions that take place. Dyadic Power Theory (DPT) is a useful theory for exploring the impacts of exoskeleton adoption. In this conceptual paper, we extend DPT to relationships between humans and machines in organizations, as well as human-human communication where use of an exoskeleton has resulted in shifts of power.

The objective of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of zinc(II), chromium(VI), nickel(II), and cadmium(II) on the methane-producing activity of granular sludge sampled from the upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor that treats the wastewaters of a yeast factory, for a range of concentrations between 0 and 128 mg L-1. The modified Gompertz, Logistic, and Richards equations were applied to describe the inactivation of anaerobic culture by heavy metals. According to these models, the values of methane production potential (mL) for a heavy metal concentration of 128 mg L-1 were in the following order: Ni (44.82 +/- 0.67) > Cd (28.73 +/- 0.11) > Cr (15.52 +/- 1.63) > Zn (0.65 +/- 0.00). The IC50 values, the metal concentrations that cause a 50% reduction in the cumulative methane production over a fixed period of exposure time (24 h), for the individual heavy metals were found to be in the following order: Zn (most toxic; 7.5 mg L-1) > Cr (27 mg L-1) > Ni (35 mg L-1) approximate to Cd (least toxic; 36 mg L-1). WOS: 000262789100013 ; BACKGROUND: Ureolytic microbial carbonate precipitation (MCP) is a novel process for removing excess calcium from industrial effluents. This process is based on the hydrolization of urea to provide a suitable medium for the precipitation of Ca as CaCO3. RESULT: A toxicity identification evaluation was conducted on synthetic wastewater simulating wastewater from paper recycling to determine the inhibition or toxicity of chromium(VI) ions on the activities of a ureolytic mixed culture (UMC) with respect to the removal rate of COD and removal of Ca2+ in batch reactors. The 50% inhibiting concentration (IC50) and the 25% inhibiting concentration (IC25) values of Cr(VI) on UMC were determined as 40 and 18 mg L-1, respectively, for an exposure time of 1 day. The inhibitory effects of Cr(VI) were lower on UMC after longer exposure times of 3,4 and 5 days. COD removal rate, ammonium production and Ca removal of samples with 512 mg Cr(VI) L-1 were significantly inhibited. CONCLUSION: The present study has shown that the effects of different metallic species, organic toxicants and other environmental factors should be taken into account when removing problematic Ca and other possible elements from the environment using UMC. ABSTRACTThis thesis studies raised the question "Responsibilities of the Commission of Implementation Suffrage Citizens On Election of Members of Provincial Parliament by Law No. 8 of 2012 on General Election of Members of the House of Representatives, Regional Representatives Council, and the Regional Representatives Council (Studies in the City Pontianak)". This study uses normative law research that is supported by empirical research/ sociological. The survey results revealed that the implementation of the right to vote of citizens in general elections members of the Regional Representatives Council (DPRD) in Pontianak not run as expected, because many people / citizens who have the right to vote are not registered in DPT or can not use their voting rights , The number of registered voters in the legislative election in Pontianak in 2014 both enrolled in the DPT, DPTb, deposits, and as many as 425 646 people DPKTb voters and exercise their voting rights as much as 314 313 voters or by 73.84%. If the number of voters who registered as many as 425 646 people compared to the number of potential voters Pontianak city population as much as 469 480 people, then there are 43 834 people who have the right to vote but are not registered or lose the right to vote in legislative elections in 2014 or by 9.34%. Efforts community / citizen who can not exercise their voting rights at the general election members of the Regional Representatives Council (DPRD) Pontianak City to report to the authorities and members of the Commission or anyone who caused it happened may be subject to criminal sanction as stipulated in Law OF No. 8 of 2012 for eliminating the constitutional ights of citizens to vote.Recommendations are: the Commission as an institution is given the authority to draw up the final voters list should work professionally and prepare DPT properly, so that no citizen who lost their constitutional rights in the legislative elections; and the Active Stetsel system in legislative elections, every citizen should actively look DPS / DPT, and if his name is not listed in the DPS / DPT, the concerned should submit an entry to be fixed, so that the concerned do not lose their constitutional rights.

1874 wurde das erste deutsche Impfgesetz verabschiedet. In seiner Folge begann die Auseinandersetzung mit Impfschäden. Die Definition des Impfschadens und der Umgang mit den von einem Impfschaden betroffenen Menschen haben sich seitdem wesentlich geändert. Gesetzliche Regelungen zu Impfschäden gab es in Thüringen erstmals 1935. Im Jahr 2000 trat das derzeit gültige Infektionsschutzgesetz in Kraft. Es enthält eine moderne Definition des Impfschadens und regelt die Antrags-, Anerkennungs-und Entschädigungswege. Für die Entscheidung über die Anerkennung eines Antrages auf eine Impfschädigung sind neben den aktuellen medizinisch-wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen sozialmedizinische, juristische und gesellschaftspolitische Aspekte von Bedeutung. Die Bewertung von Impfschäden und die Begutachtungspraxis sind einem ständigen Wandel unterworfen. In der BRD sind wegen des öffentlichen Interesses an hohen Impfraten -als einzigem Bereich in der medizinischen Versorgung -für Schadensfälle bei Impfungen staatliche Entschädigungen vorgesehen, sofern die Impfungen öffentlich empfohlen oder angeordnet wurden. Die Liste der öffentlich empfohlenen Impfungen hat sich in Thüringen wie in allen anderen Bundesländern entsprechend der wissenschaftlichen Entwicklung und der Einführung neuer Impfstoffe immer wieder geändert. Deshalb sind die historische Sicht und das Hinzuziehen alter Gesetze bei Anträgen, die Impfungen aus der Vergangenheit betreffen, immer noch außerordentlich wichtig. Verantwortlich für die Entscheidung über die Anerkennung, die Begutachtung und die Verwaltung der Impfschäden in Thüringen ist das Versorgungsamt Suhl. Mit der Wiedervereinigung Deutschlands wurden die in der ehemaligen DDR in den Bezirken Suhl, Erfurt, Gera und dem Landkreis Altenburg anerkannten Impfschäden vom Freistaat Thüringen übernommen. 2007 waren in Thüringen 135 Impfschäden anerkannt und wurden durch das Versorgungsamt Suhl verwaltet. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden nach Genehmigung durch das Thüringer Ministerium für Soziales, Familie und Gesundheit (TMSFG) die dazugehörigen Akten nach einem Fragespiegel ausgewertet. Von den 135 Geschädigten haben 108 schwerwiegende Behinderungen mit einem GdB (Grad der Behinderung) über 25 erlitten. In 27 Fällen ist ein GdB 25 oder darunter anerkannt. Die anerkannten Impfschäden gliedern sich wie folgt: 51 Impfschäden nach Pockenschutzimpfung, 21 nach DPT-, 13 nach Masernimpfung, 12 nach OPV-Impfung, 10 nach BCG-Impfung, 6 nach DPT/OPV-Impfung, 5 nach DT-, 5 nach Grippeschutzimpfung, 4 nach Tetanusimpfung, 4 nach Tollwutimpfung, je ein anerkannter Impfschaden nach Diphtherie-, Hib-, DPT/MMR-bzw. Sechsfachimpfung.

A study was conducted at a military station from Dec 2000 to Feb 2001, to study the exact immunisation coverage for six vaccines under Expanded Programme of Immunization (EPI Vaccines) and Hepatitis B vaccine and to find out unimmunized children. A house to house search was conducted and all the children below five years of age were included in the sample. Children of officers were excluded from the study. Overall 84.2% children were completely immunized for six EPI vaccines and 22.4% children were found to be immunised against Hepatitis B. The coverage for individual EPI vaccines is BCG (93%), DPT/OPV (91%), Measles (88%), DPT/OPV(B) (83%). The immunization coverage declined progressively for the vaccines given at higher ages from 93% for BCG given at birth, to 83% for DPT/OPV (B) given at 18 months of age. The immunisation coverage increased progressively with rank, being lowest in Sepoys (80.3%) and highest among Junior Commissioned Officers (97%). No statistically significant difference was found between static and field units, and the presence or absence of a Regimental Medical Officer in a unit for the immunization coverage. The study indicates that immunization coverage in the station is satisfactory, however efforts are needed to increase the vaccine coverage in the station.

WOS: 000302285700022 ; The longitudinal optical (LO) phonon energy in AlGaN/GaN heterostructures is determined from temperature-dependent Hall effect measurements and also from Infrared (IR) spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The Hall effect measurements on AlGaN/GaN heterostructures grown by MOCVD have been carried out as a function of temperature in the range 1.8-275 K at a fixed magnetic field. The IR and Raman spectroscopy measurements have been carried out at room temperature. The experimental data for the temperature dependence of the Hall mobility were compared with the calculated electron mobility. In the calculations of electron mobility, polar optical phonon scattering, ionized impurity scattering, background impurity scattering, interface roughness, piezoelectric scattering, acoustic phonon scattering and dislocation scattering were taken into account at all temperatures.
