In many West African countries there are large numbers of foreigners who have settled down to live and work or who come periodically to help harvest the crops. These aliens may be seen, from one point of view, as a useful and willing labour force, and a politically passive group requiring little in the way of services, or, from another viewpoint, as an insupportable drain on an economy which is not able to supply jobs for local people, and a source of political conflict because they have no allegiance to the ruling government. The growth in the economic power of Lebanese businessmen and local reactions to this competition have been ably discussed;1this article will be concerned with African aliens, who are present in far greater numbers than the Lebanese and whose position has become increasingly insecure in recent years.

; The history of the Moriscos in the Iberian Peninsula, has been studied thoroughly and its evolution until their expulsion in 1609-1610, has been expressed and explained with detail by the important historians. It seems a if nothing new could be told about this minority. However, an analysis of the groups of power which ruled the Hispanic Monarchy during the reigns of Philip II and Philip III shows that the factions which already took the decision of the expulsion in the reign of Philip II, were not the same as those who carried out such a drastic measure in the reign of his son; on the contrary, they belonged to the opposing political group. This contradiction allows us to open a new line of research and a revision of the well established theories about the evolution of this minority.

Then delayed insertion of IUD have expulsion rates 0 % up to 37%. This review supports the evidence that insertion of an IUD Postplacenta after vaginal delivery or caesarean delivery is safe. Expulsion rates should be further studied in larger randomised controlled trials.

Previous research outlines the correlates of childcare expulsion in the USA, yet researchers know little about how these correlates produce expulsion. This in‐depth qualitative analysis of 30 childcare providers' accounts of expulsion finds a patterned process to expulsion: Teachers search for causes and solutions to challenging behaviours. When interventions fail, overwhelmed teachers shift their focus from 'struggling' children to 'bad families'. Once the explanation of behaviour changes from within to outside of the child, expulsion is imminent. Interventions in teachers' understandings, not only in children's behaviours, are discussed as a possible way to reduce expulsion.

Hardly another question is of greater practical interest in Latin America today, from the point of view of public order and national security, than the inadmission and expulsion of aliens. The question is specially deserving of reexamination in these days of revolutionary changes in political and legal thought, changes which suggest that legislation designed to safeguard the internal order and external security of a countryshould not be neglected lest it become powerless to cope with situations which those changes may carry in their wake. The historic events now taking place are in no small measure the symptoms of a profound transition in political and juristic ideas throughout the world.
