Creative industries are now considered a solution for sustainable development. EU 2020 strategy is considering these industries crucial for the future industrial policy of EU. In recent years, while some European countries or even regions and cities, such as the UK, Scandinavian countries cities like Barcelona, Tallinn, Copenhagen or Amsterdam to name a few, have been good at tapping into the extraordinary potential of the cultural and creative sectors as a way to promote socioeconomic development and progressively developed ad hoc strategies, others are only just starting. Present papers is aiming at evaluating potential of these industries in Romania, with focus on design, and their possible place in the future export development of the country. Where strategies have emerged, they tend to focus on the strengthening of these sectors and not yet on stimulating partnerships and spill-overs with other sectors.

The aim of this paper is to analyse credit union industries within a development framework. Explicit consideration is given to credit union industries in four countries – Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand and the United States. It is argued that in terms of a developmental typology the credit union industry in Great Britain is at a nascent stage of development, the industries in Ireland and New Zealand are at a transition stage while the US credit union industry is mature in nature. In progression between stages the analysis considers the influence of factors such as situational leadership, the complexion of trade associations, professionalisation, regulatory and legislative initiatives and technology. The analysis concluded that while there was a substantial commonality of experience, there were also significant differences in the impact of these factors. This consequently encouraged the recognition of the existence of 'a variety of the species' in respect of credit union development.

The value of exports to the domestic UK economy does not equal gross export flows, as some of the value-added within UK exports may have been generated abroad. For key business and financial service industries we present new and initial estimates giving a lower bound for the value-added component of exports generated directly by the domestic exporting sector, called the direct domestic value-added component of exports. Our initial estimates suggest that at least 38 per cent of UK monetary financial institutions (MFIs) exports in 2016 was direct domestic value-added amounting to £14.6bn, of which £5.0bn came from exports to the EU. These initial estimates suggest that approximately 80 per cent of accountancy and legal services exports in 2014 were direct domestic value-added amounting to £1.7bn and £5.2bn respectively, of which £500mn and £1.7bn came from exports to the EU respectively.

Für kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) ist die Umsetzung der Vision von Industrie 4.0 mit besonderen Hürden verbunden. Um dem entgegenzuwirken, wurden in der Vergangenheit bereits zahlreiche Förderprogramme ins Leben gerufen. KMU brauchen jedoch mehr als nur Förderung. Daher wurde durch das BMBF zur Fördermaßnahme "Industrie 4.0-Testumgebungen für KMU" eine Begleitforschung eingerichtet. Diese unterstützt die Unternehmen sowohl in der Beantragung als auch während der Projektbearbeitung.
 
For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the realization of Industrie 4.0 is a great challenge. In order to cope with this there have been several funding initiatives in the past. But SMEs need more than just funding. That is why the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research installed the new program "Industrie 4.0-Testumgebungen für KMU" as accompanying research. This measure supports companies during the proposal and the project phase.

Great Britain's giant nationalized industries pose unprecedented problems for a free nation. Are the old governmental forms appropriate? Can the new forms be held accountable to the public?
