Gender equality has been named as one of the normative foundations of Nordic wel- fare states. This is reflected in how, year after year, Nordic states rank among the most gender egalitarian countries in the world (see, e.g., World Economic Forum 2020). In Nordic countries, the state has been, and continues to be, a central actor in shaping women's citizenship, labor market opportunities, and caring roles. More than 30 years ago, Helga Hernes (1987) identified the Nordic countries as 'potentially women-friendly societies'. She char- acterized women-friendly societies as those that 'would not force harder choices on women than on men' (ibid., 15), particularly in relation to work and care. Hernes also envisaged that woman-friendliness should be achieved without increasing other forms of inequality, such as class or ethnicity-based inequalities among different groups of women.However, achieving gender equality in working life and the sort of womenfriendliness that Hernes envisaged at the societal level has in many ways also proved to be challenging, as the ties between the state and gender equality goals are more complex than what they might seem at first glance. Gender disparities have proven persistent also within the Nordic context. When we issued a call for this special issue, we were inter- ested in various forms of gendered labor market (dis)advantage in Nordic countries. Furthermore, we asked how gender segregation, welfare state policies, labor marketpolicies, and various labor market actors interact to produce, maintain, challenge, or change gender equality in the labor market in the Nordic countries and beyond. The five articles presented in this special issue address the issue of gendered labor market (dis)advantages in Nordic countries from several vantage points, focusing on both on 'traditional' questions, such as corporate power and sustainable employment, and 'emerging' questions such as intersectionality, gender culture, and aesthetic work.

Senior thesis, Kansas State Agricultural College, 1892. ; Morse Department of Special Collections ; Introduction: "Well what do you learn at college, anyway?" is the query often put to the college student by his friends at home. He attempts to explain, but is soon convinced of his inability to express definitely and completely the training that his college provides. He can name every study in the course. This, indeed, throws much light on the subject; but not enough. For it gives but a slight hint of the real practical good of the college in furnishing to the student experience, information, and discipline. In considering the course of instruction at our college, we must bear in mind the object aimed at. Our institution is not a university, a classical college, a normal school, a technical institute, or an academy, but is as its name indicates an agricultural college. It is one of the many agricultural colleges of our country created by an act of Congress in 1862. This act provided for the support of at least one college in eat state where the leading object should be, "without excluding other scientific and classical studies, and including military tactics, to teach such branches of learning as are related to agriculture and the mechanic arts". So it is to be seen that ours is a peculiar, or particular, kind of college known in our country during only the last few decades.

This book includes seven chapters focusing on special issues of climate change management in Asia. The first chapter discusses the challenges with regard to climate change governance. The second chapter examines the impact of climate change on agriculture and food security in Nepal from socio-economic perspectives. The findings reveal that climate change entails much adverse effect, for example, contributing to loss of species and local landraces, reducing agricultural productivity and yield, and contributing to the emerged labor crisis in the rural areas. The third chapter is a rare work which explores a new dimension of climate change management, that is, environmental knowledge management. The fourth chapter also touches on a special topic regarding climate change, that is, legal issues in the maritime sector. This chapter reviews the climate change challenges faced by the maritime industry, and the current legal framework governing the maritime sector in South Asia with regard to climate change. The fifth chapter examines how the legal industry in Malaysia responds to climate change to contribute to resolving such global issues, and to the development of the country's economic growth. The sixth chapter, about the agriculture sector in Japan, investigates whether the adaptive method of introducing high-temperature tolerant varieties and the mitigation strategy of reducing chemical inputs affect the product price of rice in Japan. Finally, the last chapter proposes that robust strategies and policies from the relevant authorities are required to provide directions to stakeholders so that they can effectively and efficiently respond to climate change challenges.

This paper takes individuals as rational economic decision makers but ones operating within well-defined groups not just today but into the future when a reputation for fair dealing will be of significance. The paper explores the functional advantages which might accrue from group membership in such circumstances. As social science makes clear, most groups come into being for social and cultural reasons independent of any obvious immediate economic advantage. For this reason, this paper is exploratory of the boundary between economic reasoning and that of other social sciences. It explores the "bridge too far," cited by Loveridge in the 1993 special edition of this journal. This is a metaphor for the possibility of a meaningful connector between social psychological and economic reasoning. This paper tentatively looks into the relationships that might be established between the specific economic analysis covered by this paper and that deployed in other social sciences. In essence, the paper suggests that both reputational and informational benefits arise from group behavior. These benefits accrue to both its members and others. By extension it is argued that similar advantages can accrue to "families" of products in marketing. In both cases, reputational "linkage" serves as a commitment device (Schelling, 1960) with ensuing benefits to all members of the group or product family. These relationships are seen to mediate the reputational guarantees given to consumers.

The advantages & limitations of applying quantitative techniques to the problems of management are examined with special emphasis on their relevance as aids to decision making. The prime value of mathematical methods is that they generally result in more accurate decisions, particularly when the diff's between the alternatives are not great. The type of thinking quantitative analysis forces on the user is :in added benefit. The limitations of mathematical models include the opportunities for applying a formula mistakenly, the large cost of sophisticated methods of problem solving, & the inability of quantitative models to deal with intangible factors. Branchless banking is a banking service based on ICT, one of which is an agent.
This service can be found in both urban and rural areas. This research aims at identifying
the existence and advantages of agents-based branchless banking. The locations of
branchless banking agents was also analyzed to explore the spatial pattern. This research
applies a quantitative method. Agents and customers are selected by undergoing a survey.
The data are obtained by structurally interviewing agents on the kinds of services they
provide and the benefits of services for customers. Meanwhile, an accidental sampling
technique is used to select customers. Besides, spatial analysis is applied using kernel
density analysis and accessibility analysis. The result of the research shows that the
advantages of branchless banking through agent alter the perception of spatial benefits to
access banking services. The space for banking services is in the same place for other
purposes such as business units and home. In urban areas, the making use of agents is
mainly based on the factors of being closely located and easy to access. Meanwhile, in
suburban and rural areas, conveniences are of primary consideration to make use of
agents. Concerning the geographical field, location plays an essential role in the
substantial changes related to the spatial functions of economic services, mainly banking
services, which are not always located in downtown areas. On the contrary, it is possible to
locate economic services in rural areas, with the help of ICT-based services. The result of
the analysis shows that banks do not optimally consider location, range and service area
for branchless banking represented by agents.

Purpose
Based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour, the purpose of this paper is to analyse the influence of the advantages and disadvantages of entrepreneurship surrounding the entrepreneurial intention on a university context.


Design/methodology/approach
To test the hypothesis it is used a quantitative research. With a structural equations approach, it is explored the psychological mechanisms that could affect to the entrepreneurial intentions of university students.


Findings
The results obtained show that the advantages related to entrepreneurship, in particular personal rewards, influence positively on the entrepreneurial attitude. However, the disadvantages, in particular economic aspects, have a negative effect. Additionally, the authors test that the gender and the academic training have a moderate effect on the variables which influence on the entrepreneurial intention.


Originality/value
This paper contributes to the literature on entrepreneurship in two important aspects. First, it goes into detail about the influence that perceived advantages and disadvantages of starting a new business has on entrepreneurial intentions. Second, the authors examine relevant and special collective, university students that try to decide their professional future and, hence, it is a critical period to decide the startup of a new business.

This article reviews the state of the art of qualitative research on femicide, which, until the publication of this Special Issue, has been extremely sparse. The paper mentions some of the limitations of the qualitative approach, such as time consumption, ethical liabilities, and non-generalizability. However, it advocates qualitative research because of its advantages in capturing the context, describing the experience, identifying the motives, highlighting the relationship between perpetrator and victim, identifying the risk factors, and suggesting apt policies. The article concludes by cautiously recommending a mixed-/merged-methods approach, which, in turn, depends upon the research question and has its own inherent disadvantages.

The purpose of the article is to describe the general features, advantages and disadvantages of online painting education. Research methodology. In the course of the study, general scientific (analysis, synthesis, generalisation, comparison) and special methods and approaches, including those integrated from art history, information technology, pedagogy, and psychology, were used. This methodological interdisciplinarity allowed for a better understanding of the direction of the main changes and trends in modern education, in particular in artistic specialities. The scientific novelty lies in the identification and characterisation of the advantages and disadvantages of online painting education. Conclusions. Online education in painting has a number of features, advantages and disadvantages that relate to both general educational and specific limitations. This requires constant monitoring and consideration in the planning and implementation of the educational process. The advantages include: accessibility, flexibility in choosing time and place, the possibility of studying at a distance, access to a large amount of traditional and modern resources, reduced material costs, wide possibilities of digital technologies, the possibility of attracting specialists and artists from around the world. These advantages can be defined as purely material and pragmatic. The disadvantages of online painting training can be divided into two groups: material and pragmatic (limited access to physical tools, materials, specific equipment, communication problems and technical difficulties) and motivational and irrational (lack of personal contact, lack of motivation and self-discipline, lack of a specific creative and artistic atmosphere). Material and pragmatic deficiencies are closely related to motivational and irrational ones, since they can cause stress and affect the inspiration of future artists.

South Carolina offers wholesalers and distributors a location which can enhance their profit picture. Special tax incentives and low business operating expenses, mixed with good market access, translate into a lower cost of goods sold. The Fourth of July, orator spares no pains and no rhetorical figures in speaking of the great rural classes. For all of this enthusiastic oratory the farmer has his joys, and his sorrows, his fortunes, and his misfortunes, his advantages and his disadvantages. When living several miles from the noisy and busy city, or perhaps even a mile or more of forest, field, or prairie is stretched between him and his nearest neighbor, the farmer can realize as no one else the enjoyment to be found in an hours conversation. The few spare evenings that he may chance to have must be spent in the same old way – the same old routine is to be repeated. There are no good social entertainments within a block of his door, and the lecture room is but rarely seen. The soul, thrilling and inspiring religious services that are so characteristic of the city cannot be participated in and the cold wintry days cannot always be spent in the most profitable manner. There he lives in partial seclusion from society, and must devise his own method of entertainment.
