The author indicates in the article that the conflict over Transnistria was not int the field of German close interests. The main task of the German government was to maintain good relations with Russia and to grant it the role of the main mediator in the dispute between Moldova and rebellious Transnistria. On the other hand, Germany, as an EU member, sought to stabilize the region and to bring about democratic and pro-European changes in Moldova. Berlin supported negotiations between the conflicted parties within the OSCE framework albeit aware that they were a sham and would not contribute to the resolution of the conflict. Both the people of Transnistria and Moldova are committed to maintaining the status quo. The absence of physical violence and minor economic and legal tensions have encouraged Western Europe to remain indifferent to Transnistria's problems. In the article the author used the following research methods: historical, descriptive, source analysis and decision making method.

ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the emotional and social challenges that Romanian Holocaust survivors, particularly children who became orphans, faced in the early postwar period. The author shows how the accounts of Jewish orphans from Transnistria did not initially come from experts, but from published booklets of Jewish survivors and journalists, and Jewish and non-Jewish Romanian press accounts, all of which had divergent agendas. Soon after the War, assessments by psychologists and physicians also appeared. The most important Jewish-Romanian figure to connect these diverse accounts to the psychological state of Romanian-Jewish orphans at the end of the Second World War was Dr. Theodor Loewenstein. In tracking and analyzing these narratives, the author seeks to understand the different representations of Jewish orphans from Transnistria in early postwar Romania.

This article examines the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in the Moldova-Transnistria conflict. After a violent conflict in 1992, Transnistria became a de facto, but unrecognized state. While much has been written on the official diplomatic processes for the settlement of this conflict, little has been written on the contribution of CSOs. The article focuses on concrete projects for peace run by activists from both the Moldovan and Transnistrian sides. The study states that the intervention by CSOs were in place and they have played a relevant role since the mid-1990s. However, the situation of Moldovan civil society has kept organizations from exclusively focusing on peace and conflict resolution. This has limited the know-how in the field, which is still low. Moreover, political institutions are giving little support to this specific work. The main exception in the last years is the EU, which is showing a new interest in involving CSOs in conflict resolution. Adapted from the source document.
