Die Indigenenbewegung ist trotz ihrer enormen Diversität ein wichtiger sozialer Akteur in der ecuadorianischen Gesellschaft. Seit einer Sattelzeit zwischen Mitte der 1970er und Mitte der 1980er Jahre hat sie einen Diskurs herausgebildet, der identitäre mit klassistischen Positionen verbindet und um die politischen Begriffe indigene Nationalität, Territorialität, Plurinationalität, Interkulturalität und Gutes Leben herum aufgebaut ist. Der Autor zeigt, wie sich dieser Diskurs gegen die koloniale Strukturierung der Gesellschaft und ihre Auswirkungen - wie etwa Diskriminierung und Ungleichheit - wendet und daher dekolonial zu verstehen ist.
"The 2008 Ecuadorean Constitution introduced with the Good Life - defined as basic principle of state and society - a new political concept that could establish itself as an alternative to visions of development focused on growth. The concept of Good Life (Sumak Kawsay) has been established in the discourse of the indigenous movement in Ecuador since the year 2002 and has been used especially by the Amazonian organizations in order to fight petroleum exploitation in their territory. This activity is defined as an attack on nature and the people living there. The adaptation of the concept by the state during the Constituent Assembly in 2007/2008 lead to the appearance of two different and in part antagonistic interpretations of the Good Life: the indigenous movement integrated the new concept -always in Kichwa as Sumak Kawsay- in their established discourse as a crystallization of their ecological and economical demands; many non-indigenous political intellectuals, on the other hand, understand the Good Life as the culmination of a millennial intercontinental tradition of thought that hardly relates to indigenous peoples. Thus, since some years, there are conflicts between two different definitions of the same concept - the indigenous peoples defend themselves under the slogan of the Good Life against a state politics that endangers their way of life under the same slogan." Der Kampf der Organisationen der Indigenenbewegung in Ecuador seit den 1980ern war nicht nur ein Kampf für gleiche wirtschaftliche, politische oder kulturelle Rechte, sondern auch einer für einen Wiederaufbau der ecuadorianischen Gesellschaft und des ecuadorianischen Staates. Dieser Wiederaufbau soll an bestimmten Begriffen, wie Interkulturalität und Plurinationalität, entlang erfolgen. Auch wenn diese Begriffe in der Verfassung von 2008 übernommen wurden, müssen sie, aus Sicht der Indigenenbewegung, erst noch umgesetzt werden. Der vorliegende Text ist eine Analyse der Entwicklung sowohl der Indigenenbewegung, als auch ihrer Begriffe mit einem Schwerpunkt auf die Beziehungen zwischen den verschiedenen Organisationen und Begriffen. ; The fight of indigenous movement organizations in Ecuador since the 1980s has been not only for equal economical, political or cultural rights, but also for a reconstruction of the Ecuadorean society and State. This reconstruction is formed alongside quite specific concepts, such as Interculturality and Plurinationality. Even if those concepts has been adopted in the 2008 Constitution, from the perspective of the indigenous movement, they are yet to implement. This text is an analysis of the development of both indigenous movement and their concepts with a focus on the interrelation between the different organizations and concepts.
El movimiento indígena ecuatoriano pudo posicionarse desde 1990 en el ambiente político nacional e internacional con un discurso original que combina aspectos clasistas con aspectos identitarios alrededor de los conceptos de interculturalidad y plurinacionalidad. Este discurso se define por ser crítico a la estructura colonial de la sociedad y del Estado en el Ecuador, que describe como racista y excluyente. Con las propuestas de un Estado plurinacional y una sociedad intercultural ofrece alternativas hacia la Colonialidad imperante que pueden ser descritos como decoloniales. Siguiendo a la teoría de la Colonialidad del Poder que Aníbal Quijano desarrolló, el presente texto va a analizar los contenidos decoloniales de estas propuestas. El surgimiento del movimiento indígena como actor político plenamente visible a partir del levantamiento indígena del Inti Raymi en 1990 vino acompañado con una serie de demandas que giran alrededor de los conceptos de interculturalidad y plurinacionalidad. Desde el movimiento indígena, estos conceptos se extendieron hacia otros movimientos sociales y partidos políticos y finalmente se integraron en el discurso general de la sociedad. Una muestra de este desarrollo es la reforma constitucional de 1996 y la Constitución de 1998 que declaran al Ecuador un Estado "pluricultural y multiétnico" (Art. 1) y, aún más, la actual Constitución de 2008 donde el Estado aparece como "intercultural, plurinacional" (Art. 1). En este artículo, se pretende analizar los conceptos de interculturalidad y plurinacionalidad en el contexto de una lucha contra la desigualdad económica, política y cultural en la sociedad ecuatoriana y los múltiples intentos de liberarse de ella. El concepto de Colonialidad (del saber, del poder, Colonialismo interno), desarrollado por Aníbal Quijano y otros, ayuda a entender tanto la percepción que el movimiento indígena tiene del Estado y la sociedad actual como sus propuestas para cambiarlos. Diese Arbeit hat das Ziel, die Kategorie "Frau", ihre Situation und ihre Konstitution sowohl auf symbolischer als auch soziostruktureller Ebene innerhalb der mexikanischen Kultur und Gesellschaft zu ergründen. Die Konstruktion von Weiblichkeit in Mexiko erfolgt entlang der bedeutungsstiftenden Strukturen einer Vielzahl von Kulturen (zumindest: die "indigen/traditionelle", die hispanisch-europäische und die mestizisch/mexikanische), gesellschaftlicher und politischer Institutionen (wie das staatliche Entwicklungsprojekt, Bildungsinitiativen, Kirchen und Religion) und weiterer, diffuser Einflüsse (etwa die Massenmedien in ihren populären Formen). Gerade deshalb gewinnt die Weiblichkeit der mexikanischen Mestizinnen eine besondere Qualität, die eine Möglichkeit bieten kann, nicht nur eine "fremde" Kultur, sondern auch die eigene Wahrnehmung zu analysieren.
If not even earlier, then at the latest when Oxford Dictionaries selected 'post-truth' as Word of the Year 2016, did the global public become aware that 'truth' is not an uncontested and finite concept but a social construct. Are we, then, standing on the threshold of a new 'post-truth age' as – for instance – The Independent has claimed? (Norman 2016) Certainly, the Word of the Year 2016 has cast a bright light onto the case that there is not 'one truth only' but that there are facts that can be interpreted – or rejected – in different ways. This means that truth is 'produced', but is it produced as scientific or religious truth or as political truth? Just think of `fake news´ and its strategic use in influencing elections, as in the case of the latest presidential elections in the US or Brazil, or the leave campaign in the case of the Brexit referendum. Thus, the production of truth is undertaken by society, at least on the level of concrete actions. This situation becomes more complicated if we consider modern complex society. The increasing globalization of economies and societies has made the world more complex than it has ever before been.
La pandemia de COVID-19 ha significado una crisis importante para el Ecuador. Afectó gravemente a la situación económica de la población e implicó decisiones inmediatas en materia educativa, así como incertidumbre y expectativas negativas en lo laboral. Como experimento social involuntario, mostró los quiebres en tres tipos de conocimientos: el conocimiento práctico y cotidiano de la población, el conocimiento científico y sobre la ciencia, y el conocimiento emocional. La formación de estos conocimientos facilita a la difusión de información falsa, la incomprensión de la ciencia, y la confusión emocional. Para esto, el artículo se basa en una encuesta de alcance nacional a más de 2.000 hogares en el Ecuador, levantada entre mayo y julio de 2020. Estos datos permiten una revisión de los impactos sociales de la pandemia, incluyendo las estructuras pre-existentes que los hicieron posibles.
This collective work is built upon the need to problematize interculturality and the very notion of "intercultural" from perspectives which have been absent or underrepresented in the debate in Ecuador. Such perspectives include, among others, discourse analysis, the history of indigenous education, intercultural philosophy and semiotics. Drawing from frames and concepts of various disciplines, the contributions of this book intend to be both critical and constructive inasmuch as they question some of the assumptions upon which the paradigm of interculturality has been built, and elaborate categories of analysis that are somehow novel to the Ecuadorian debate. The goal of this critical and constructive exercise is to expand our horizon of interpretation so as to enrich not only the theory of interculturality but mainly the practice of interculturality
