The security forces have been deployed in large numbers to bring peace and development in the Kashmir valley. These security forces, ie Army, Para Military Forces, and Police forces operate amidst the civilian population and cause imbalance and turbulence in the society.The security forces especially Army, which is deployed in large numbers find it difficult to operate as their basic training is to fight enemy on the border. They need orientation training to adapt and adjust to the new role of maintaining peace in public life and contribute towards development in the region. The security forces are empowered by extra legislations to facilitate operating in a difficult and alien environment.The operations of security forces evolved and got refined during the tenure of their deployment in the Kashmir valley. The insurgency pre 2000 and post 2000 was different and security forces adapted well to bring changes to fight the insurgency. It led to the improved situation for sustainable peace and development of the region.

Sustainable Development (SD) is one the most discussed issue now days, which is gaining priority day by day due to the exploitation of nature in a drastic way. It is from this apprehension that 'Education for sustainable development' (ESD) emerged with an immediate urge to preserve and conserve our nature and natural resources.The concept of ESD entangles the different countries and states across the world as a whole for a sustainable society, which merges the environment, economic and social dimensions. The paper discusses about the effect of integrated approach to education for sustainable development on the students'knowledge on sustainable development.The investigator developed acurriculum by integrating SD concepts into science and social science of VII standard of NCERT syllabus and various learning activities for their transaction by incorporating several pedagogical strategies that lead to constructing knowledge, developing social perspectives and analytical abilities.The study was of quasi experimental in nature withtwo group pre-test-post-test design, whereby the integratedcurriculum was taught to the experimental group for about five months and the control group was exposed to the conventional curriculum and methodology. It was found that there was a significant difference on the knowledge on sustainable development between experimental and control group. The experimental group had a higher mean knowledge score than the control group.On the basis of the findings from the study, it is concluded that there is a sheer need to highlight the importance of integration of SD components in pedagogy at all levels.

The stated reason for invading Iraq was its alleged clandestine pursuit of weapons of mass destruction in defiance of UN resolutions. Even though the allegation was proven false, the international community remains preoccupied with the threat of the proliferation and use of such terrible weapons. Mutual fund sector is growing very fast in India. It contributes to large extent in the development of Indian economy. It is a pool that collects money from its subscribers and invest money in equity, bonds and other securities. Mutual fund is managed by fund house managers who are professionally qualified. Subscriber or investors holds units in proportion to their investment amount. Each unit has NAV(Net asset value). The money can be invested in lump sum or through systematic investment plan. Investment in mutual is simple and may earn higher returns in longer period of time. Mutual funds provide diversification, economy, liquidity, higher returns and professional managers. Mutual funds are regulated by government bodies. The assets under management of mutual fund houses have been increased many times. This shows the faith of investors in mutual funds. In this paper I shall highlight the investor's behaviour towards mutual fund with a special reference to Moga district of Punjab.

La lutte antiterroriste, devenue prioritaire au niveau mondial et renforçant les exigences de non-prolifération nucléaire (qui avaient déjà permis d'amorcer un processus de négociations avec les Etats- Unis et contribué à la reconnaissance de l'Inde comme nouvelle puissance dans l'ordre mondial), offre un nouveau terrain d'entente entre les deux plus grandes démocraties du monde, que la persistance de tensions avec le Pakistan et la Chine et de conflits régionaux en Afghanistan et au Cachemire pourrait unir dans une même lutte. Background: Both smoking and diabetes are attributed to be strongly linked with pulmonary tuberculosis. The significance of the study lies in assessing severity of manifestations in pulmonary tuberculosis patients due to smoking and diabetes. Subjects and Methods:This is a cross sectional observational study among patients presenting to Department of Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases, Government Medical College, Patiala. 200 Patients were enrolled in this study who are sputum smear positive pulmonary kochs patients already on ATT and admitted in this department were evaluated by clinical history, blood and radiological investigations and the data was statistically analyzed.Results:Non smoker non diabetic group had maximum of females, n=28(56%), whereas purely diabetic study group has maximum of males, n=30(60%).The total number of patients whose sputum showed bacterial culture was 19 (9.5%). In the patients having both diabetes and smoking as risk factor there was maximum culture positivity, n=6 (31.5%)and most common organism isolated was klebsiella pneumonia, n=3 (50%), Klebsiella was also the most common organism isolated overall, n=10 (62.5%).Conclusion: The combination of smoking and diabetes can lead to serious disease, sputum positivity and complications.
