"This book demonstrates, in a step-by-step fashion, the development of theoretically sound information technology and communications for developing an (ICT4D) research program. It outlines a path for linking grand theories with context-specific case studies. It guides readers through building complex methodologies relying on parametric and non-parametric data analytic and data mining techniques. Finally, the book demonstrates some of the ways for inquiring into the issues associated with the dynamic nature of organizations, industries, and economies, as well as some of the practical means for improving their performance."--Provided by publisher

It is well known that small and medium enterprises (SME) are important drivers of economic growth, particularly in the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). However, typically many SMEs operate as informal enterprises which limits their access to finance. Access to appropriate levels of credit (i.e., get credit) is generally a necessary condition but not sufficient condition for improvement in socio-economic outcomes (i.e., make impact). Thus, improving access to credit is still a desirable goal. This paper uses a DEA-based multi-method approach to explore the "ICT Capabilities & Going Legit & Get Credit & Make Impact" path. The results show that there are statistically significant links between ICT Capabilities and legitimization of SMEs (i.e., going legit), ICT capabilities and get credit, and going legit and get credit. Given this desirability of improving access to credit (i.e., get credit), these results suggest that the increasing the level ICT capabilities should result in increases in the levels of going legit and get credit.

Samoilenko Oksana, Dubaseniuk Oleksandra, Sydorchuk Ninel. Trends of development of adult edcation in the eu countries // Педагогічний часопис Волині. - № 2(13), 2019. - с. 97-104. ; The article is devoted to modern tendencies of adult education. At the beginning of the XXI century, the concept of continuing education was actively being implemented in the countries of the European Union. The acquired knowledge throughout life enhances the prospects of adults in the labor market, improves the quality of human capital of the economy, helps them to adapt more quickly to social change, promote self-realization of the individual. The purpose of the study is to characterize trends in the development of adult education in the member states of the European Union. The significant increase in the number of adults participating in various forms of education within the formal education system and beyond confirms the need for adult education by European states, international and national organizations, and non-governmental organizations. Adult education is a fundamental factor in European development and the competitiveness of countries. Methodology of Research. Scientific research was carried out with the use of comparative pedagogical methods, among which the leading role played: the method of studying documentary and scientific and pedagogical sources, the method of interpreting educational facts, the method of analysis of foreign sources, the method of analysis of mass phenomena, which was implemented in the study to highlight the main trends in the development of education adults in EU member states. As a result of the increasing availability of education, processes of internationalization, globalization and transboundary educational migration take place. This leads to the universalization of knowledge, the emergence of international quality standards and the development of the innovative nature of higher education, the expansion and strengthening of international cooperation, the enhancement of academic and student mobility, and others. Studying foreign students also affects the development of the country of origin, contributes to the global economic and political stability of the EU member states.

The intensification of socio-political movements within Ukraine and in the world as a whole at the beginning of the 21st century led to an appeal to the civic consciousness, position and identity of the individual and his role in the building of democratic states. The scientific community did not stay away from these processes and began to actively discuss the nature of civic identity, its levels and structure. This article presents a representation of the concept under study in the discourse of the social sciences. The authors made an attempt to analyze and summarize the available domestic scientific research on the problem under study. The research material was scientific articles and dissertations presented in the database of the Vernadsky National Library. The results made it possible to conclude that there is a diversity of approaches to defining civic identity in the social sciences. It is established that the definition of the essence of the concept should be made by comparing it with ethnic, national, gender-role, professional, social and cultural identities. It has been found out that civic identity is considered by scientists as a dynamic system of citizens' perceptions of themselves and related experiences and value-meaning-filled ones, which are formed as derivatives of the awareness of a citizen of a certain state and at the same time a member of the community of citizens. It is revealed that civic identity is based on the typicality (community) of problems of social self- realization of the individual in the organizational space of the state. The conditions of social self- realization, which exist in the organizational space of the state, unite people on the basis of thecommon values existing in the axiological space of the state. In this way, civic identity differs from a national identity close to it, oriented more towards national culture and traditions, as well as national interests in politics.

Portrayals of history are never complete, and each description inherently exhibits a specific view-
point and emphasis. In this work, we automatically identified such differences by computing time-
lines and detecting temporal focal points of written history across languages on Wikipedia. In
particular, we studied articles related to the history of all UN member states and compared them in
30 language editions. We developed a computational approach that allows to identify focal points
quantitatively, and found that Wikipedia narratives about national histories (i) are skewed towards
more recent events (recency bias) and (ii) are distributed unevenly across the continents with sig-
nificant focus on the history of European countries (Eurocentric bias). Thus, our work explored
how colonial ties shape popular historiography on Wikipedia. We also established that national
historical timelines vary across language editions, although average interlingual consensus is rather
high. We hope that this work provides a starting point for a broader computational analysis of
written history on Wikipedia and elsewhere.

The necessity to form a new trend in sociology, namely the sociology of childness, is considered. The author substantiates the methodological-theoretic principles of the trend and introduces a new paradigm which concerns the development of children under conditions of the transformation of Ukraine's society and is based on a new philosophy of the perception of a child starting from the prenatal period. A certain attention is paid to a modernization of the educational system and to the social responsibility and the mission of parents.
