Als Ergebnis eines gemeinsamen Forschungsprojekts, finanziert von der europäischen Kommission, präsentieren Wirtschaftswissenschaftler aus Rußland, Kasachstan, Großbritannien und Deutschland Aufsätze zu dem Thema "Die Schuldenkrise in Rußland und Kasachstan". Sie diskutieren die Faktoren, die zu den makroökonomisch signifikanten Anstieg der inner- und zwischenbetrieblichen Schulden in den CIS Ländern führten.

The aim of this study was provide answers to two research questions. While the first one is concerned with the causes of the remarkable macroeconomic resilience of the Nordic EU-countries since the mid-1990s, the second one is related to the sustainability of a high degree of government activity in times of financial globalisation. The authors start their inquiry with the suggestion that it is the Scandinavian welfare state that closely connects these short-term and long-term issues. It turned out that the concepts of norm-based regimes and regime constellations based on institutional complementarities are extremely helpful in the exploration of these interconnections. This result is substantiated by an extensive review of the literature on the Scandinavian welfare state and, in particular, by an econometric investigation of macroeconomic regimes and regime shifts in the Nordic EU countries.

In public opinion the Green Party seems to be left from Social Democrats. But meanwhile the Greens represent in the field of economic policy a variant of neoliberalism, a kind of "green austerity". Budget consolidation and flexible labour markets are the main aims of economic policy. From an eco-tax the Greens expect ecological improvements and more employment but none of these effects seems to plausible.

Die Analyse des Anpassungsprozesses im Bereich der wehrtechnischen Betriebe in Ostdeutschland hat gezeigt, daß eine strikte Trennung zwischen "Konversion" und allgemeiner struktureller Anpassung im Rahmen der deutschen Vereinigung nicht möglich ist. Rüstungskonversion war als selbstständiges wirtschaftspolitisches Ziel nur in der kurzen Übergangszeit zwischen dem Zusammenbruch des SED-Regimes und dem Abschluß des Einigungsvertrages existent. Als relativ kleine Teilmenge der gesamten ostdeutschen Staatswirtschaft wurden die speziellen Anpassungsprobleme der Wehrtechnikproduzenten nach anfänglichen Versuchen von der Öffentlichkeit und von der Treuhandanstalt nicht mehr gesondert betrachtet. Konversion wurde von der Öffentlichkeit weitgehend mit Fragen der Streitkräfte und Liegenschaften

Der "Mankiw" ist nicht nur ein massgebliches Standardwerk an deutschen Hochschulen. Übersetzt in zahlreiche Sprachen wird der Klassiker weltweit erfolgreich in Lehrveranstaltungen eingesetzt.Der Autor diskutiert Themen wie Inflation, Arbeitslosigkeit und Wachstum und beleuchtet die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Geld-, Fiskal- und Aussenwirtschaftspolitik.Die 7. Auflage wurde umfassend überarbeitet und berücksichtigt die Aktualisierungen der 8. und 9. US-Auflage. Die einzelnen Kapitel wurden didaktisch optimiert und neu geordnet. Eine zentrale Neuerung ist das Kapitel ?Das Finanzsystem". Es präsentiert wesentliche makroökonomische Forschungsergebnisse der letzten Jahre.(Verlagstext)

Taking into account the potentially different starting and framework conditions of regions in different parts of the European Union, we will present a new approach for sustainability transition analysis. We hypothesise: favourable overall institutional conditions, such as a high degree of formal and informal local decision-making autonomy, are supportive for innovative institutional arrangements, like self-organised and co-operative forms of management of urban common pool resources. This report aims to explore these conditions systematically in the context of socio-ecological transitions with a special focus on the overarching research question: What is the transformative role of institutional diversification and innovation in the governance of core urban common pool resources? The role of the resource systems energy, urban green spaces and drinking water will be empirically analysed in the context of self-organisation and socio-ecological transition. Finally, policy recommendations based on these findings will be mapped.
