; This thesis analyses which norms, standards, and guidelines are used often by the companies in theautomotive industry and it analyzes potential positive effects following the unification of the suppliercode of conduct within the automobile industry. Governments, but also public opinion, demand workethics from manufacturers and suppliers that are environmentally and socially responsible. The specificrequests have been increasing over the last few years. As a result, standards, norms and guidelineswere introduced. Companies themselves started to define their own standards, so called 'codes ofconduct and 'supplier codes of conduct. Comparing available information from the four top sellingcar manufacturers and four top selling suppliers 2016 respectively, conformities and differences wereevaluated. The result of the benchmark analysis shows a great similarity between the various codes ofconduct, but huge differences between the supplier codes of conduct. Requirements therein oftencontain national as well as international standards and guidelines. Suppliers with many customerstherefore face big efforts to accommodate all requests. Unification of the supplier codes of conductfor car manufacturing companies could provide clarity and would facilitate implementation of requestsand control thereof. ; vorgelegt von Rebecca Johanna Garnter, BSc ; Abweichender Titel laut Übersetzung des Verfassers/der Verfasserin ; Zusammenfassungen in Deutsch und Englisch ; Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, Masterarbeit, 2018 ; (VLID)2581296
