AbstractA chronicled approach to the notion of computer simulations shows that there are two predominant interpretations in the specialized literature. According to the first interpretation, computer simulations are techniques for finding the set of solutions to a mathematical model. I call this first interpretation the problem-solving technique viewpoint (PST). In its second interpretation, computer simulations are considered to describe patterns of behavior of a target system. I call this second interpretation the description of patterns of behavior viewpoint of computer simulations (DPB). This article explores these two interpretations of computer simulations from three different angles. First, I collect a series of definitions of computer simulation from the historical record. I track back definitions to the early 1960s and show how each viewpoint shares similar interpretations of computer simulations—ultimately clustering into the two viewpoints aforementioned. This reconstruction also includes the most recent literature. Second, I unpack the philosophical assumptions behind each viewpoint, with a special emphasis on their differences. Third, I discuss the philosophical implications of each viewpoint in the context of the recent discussion on the logic of scientific explanation for computer simulations.

Thus far, equality before the law is understood as an ideality without limitation and exception. Its enforceability is considered to apply indiscriminately for every law breaker. However, reality of law enforcement says differently when a perpetrator of the crime is called an early age child. Special regulations exist injustice system, law governing it as well as provisions derived from the children rights, although the child is positioned as dealing with the law. In such context of an establishment of law regarding children in conflict with the law, it is interesting to find philosophical roots of distinctive treatment negating equality before the law. The explorative step is more attractive, especially when many mosaics of conception has been discovered about what are the truths whena child is in conflict with the law: 1) violations committed by children are not purely mistakes of the children, 2) children are, nevertheless, having rights that must be fulfilled including when dealing with the law, 3) children has privileges with broad distribution of regulations in various sectors and according to the view based on Pancasila, they are keten (a link) of a nation. Such varied conceptions elicit necessity of unearthing philosophical roots, truths and realitiesthat are always plural. So that, the law established is not only be legal because it is formed in legitimate manner and by legitimate power (pedigree thesis), also incorporating theexisting basic values or moral principles, though not absolute, depending on condition of society (the moral thesis) (Twining, 2009). Thus, study of such legal products is not only be seen as the work of professional, but as Satjipto Rahardjo viewed, it is placed as an scientific object to explain that a law codified in legislation, though, is not something sacred to examine for its philosophical content.

La democracia no se asienta completamente en España hasta 1978, en contraste con muchos países de su entorno. Sin embargo, existieron en la España contemporánea importantes corrientes de pensamiento y fuerzas políticas que persiguieron su implantación. En este trabajo se defiende que en el republicanismo se encuentra el sustrato filosófico de la democracia en España, ya que fueron éstos sectores políticos y culturales quienes elaboraron, divulgaron e intentaron poner en práctica las doctrinas democráticas en la España contemporánea. In recent years, instruments of governance, including citizens' panels (citizens' assemblies) have gained interest all over the world, including Poland. The danger of its application stems from the fact that they assume the desire to allocate more and more political power to partners at the expense of legitimate authorities. Hence, the purpose of this article is to examine the axiological foundations of the instruments of governance, focusing on the value of truth. In the conclusion of the research, it was stated that the implementation of the citizens' panels in Gdańsk leads to violations of the value of truth, one of the pillars of Latin civilization.

El sugestivo título del libro que hoy presentamos condensa muy bien el contenido que desarrolla. En efecto, por Theologia Moderna no solo debe entenderse una teología que considera los contenidos teológicos que interesan en la actualidad, sino una Teología fundada sobre los cimientos de la modernidad filosófica. Hay, como bien indica el padre Ignacio Andereggen, dos sentidos de la modernidad. Uno que es una continuidad con la edad media, otro racionalista e idealista. El primer sentido, que se refleja en el descubrimiento y evangelización de América, en el arte y la cultura renacentista, en la mística del siglo de oro español, etc. no ha sido el que finalmente ha prevalecido. Por el contrario, durante la modernidad se gestó además un modo de pensamiento filosófico, contrario a la escolástica, que se ha ido instalando y ha inficionado toda la cultura hasta alcanzar los niveles de confusión que hoy padecemos. La teología no ha sido ajena a esta operación. Como ya había advertido el Papa San Pio X en un Motu proprio Doctoris Angelicis: Los puntos más importantes de la filosofía de Santo Tomas no deben ser considerados como algo opinable, que se pueda discutir, sino que son como los fundamentos en los que se asienta toda la ciencia de lo natural y de lo divino. Si se rechazan estos fundamentos o se los pervierte, se seguirá necesariamente que quienes estudian las ciencias sagradas ni siquiera podrán captar el significado de las palabras con las que el Magisterio de la Iglesia expone los dogmas revelados por Dios (AAS 1914, 336-341). Así el racionalismo y el idealismo en sus principales representantes que son Kant, Hegel y Heidegger, han ido transformando el sentido de las cosas y las palabras y el modo de concebir la realidad ejerciendo un influjo nocivo y disolvente fundado en el escepticismo, en un formalismo moralizante, en el rechazo a la contemplación y por último en una recaída de la humanidad en la oscuridad, en la angustia psicológica. Este influjo es el que alimenta esta Theología Moderna, cuyos principales representantes son Rahner y Von Balthasar.

Die wachsende Kluft zwischen technologischer Entwicklung und der Entwicklung rechtlicher und politischer Strukturen stellt Europa vor neue geopolitische Herausforderungen. Ausgehend von einer Neuinterpretation des juristischen Nihilismus argumentiert der Autor für eine europäische Verfassungslehre, die in erster Linie den Schutz europäischer Interessen und Werte konzentriert bleiben sollte. Hierbei werden die militärischen, kulturellen, politischen und technischen Perspektiven europäischer Verteidigung untersucht. Die Kriege und geopolitischen Krisen der 2020er Jahre haben zu einer raschen Politisierung der europäischen Öffentlichkeit geführt, die auf das entscheidende Interesse des gesamten Westens reagiert. Insgesamt erweisen sich die Demokratien als weitaus widerstandsfähiger als zunächst erwartet.
