Kramarenko talks about Geoff Dyer's book Zona which expresses Dyer's impression on Andrei Tarkovsky's film The Stalker. People purposely leave religious beliefs outside their analysis. But those seem to be absolutely central to the very plot of The Stalker. The Mirror and, particularly, Andrei Roublyov (originally named Andrei Passion) provide enough grounds for such an approach. To a person, who if not religious, but at least is conscious of those issues, the Zona may constitute an incarnation of living omnipresent God, who relates to human existence through what is supposed to be conscience or moral law. Such a view would be premised upon continuity of the Russian literary tradition, of which A. Tarkovsky's works were part and parcel. Adapted from the source document.

Examines the need for universities to offer a wide gamut of ideas for its students relating to pro-government and pro-market theories and facts. Offering the recent history of loss of power and popularity for governments as the world turned toward free market mechanisms around the turn of the century, shows that the constant oscillations between left and right economics and politics must be included in a well-rounded education, lest students not be allowed to make their own decisions. Concludes that while political science departments may exhibit intellectual pluralism, the same is not true within any given classroom, where professors tend to teach only their political and economic viewpoints. One means by which this determination was made was via examining the syllabi of various professors. The author's rationale and methodology are explained, with the results being that Marx is read in equal proportion to 3 of his rival authors, Smith, Hayek, and Friedman, with a subsequent examination and interpretation of the results.
