The Indian government made their opposition to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty clear from the very start. India denounced the unequal terms of the treaty which favoured the nuclear powers and the industrially advanced countries. Still something has to be done about the danger of nuclear proliferation on the subcontinent. The nuclear race must be stopped before India and Pakistan cross the nuclear threshold where there is no turning back. One option would be to submit to the NPT despite its discriminatory nature. Otherwise Pakistan could join India in a crusade against the NPT and the London Club. If neither of these options is acceptable to India, then it should give some sort of answer to the nuclear question, instead of maligning Pakistan. The world should watch India rather than Pakistan.
