; This thesis deals with the phenomenon of anti-Judaism in the ancient world in a defined period of observation, which extends from the 4th century B.C. to the 1st century A.D. and is limited to the Greco-Roman world. In the first part of the thesis, the terminological question concerning the terms "anti-Semitism" and "anti-Judaism", which is currently being debated and still unresolved among scholars, is discussed. Since in the context of this thesis the term "anti-Judaism" is chosen to be more suitable, the arguments for and against the use of the two terms are explained and the decision in favor of the term "anti-Judaism" is justified.Subsequently, in the second part of the paper, a variety of examples of anti-Jewish prejudice from the writings of ancient authors are collected and analyzed in three thematic complexes. Not only is a repertoire of anti-Jewish resentments presented in written form, but also a picture of the Jewish way of life and Judaism in the ancient world is drawn. Finally, in the third and last part of the thesis two selected events, the pogrom in Alexandria in 38 CE and the First Jewish War 66 - 70/74 CE, are outlined and analyzed. When analyzing the conflicts, the writings of Philo of Alexandria and Flavius Josephus serve as crucial sources. It is shown that during the period of observation there was a selective emergence of anti-Jewish views and events that were instrumentalized and culminated in bloody confrontations. Nevertheless, one cannot speak of any latent anti-Judaism in the ancient world since the events and accusations were the result of cumulative tensions that arose in political-administrative spaces due to different political, social and cultural-religious characteristics and interests. The accusations, which based on an anti-human and xenophobic characteristic, were instrumentalized and propagated in the course of the conflicts.
