Im Beitrag wird das Forschungsprogramm der Wissenssoziologischen Diskursanalyse vorgestellt. Die Wissenssoziologische Diskursanalyse greift wichtige Anregungen der Foucaultschen Diskurstheorie auf und verbindet sie mit den Traditionen des sozialwissenschaftlichen interpretativen Paradigmas einschließlich der Hermeneutischen Wissenssoziologie. Sie begreift Diskurse als "strukturierte und strukturierende Strukturen", die gesellschaftliche Aussagepraktiken instruieren. Die Wissenssoziologische Diskursanalyse betont die Rolle sozial konstituierter Akteure in der gesellschaftlichen Produktion und Zirkulation von Wissen und verbindet die Forschungsinteressen der Diskursperspektive mit dem methodischen Instrumentarium der qualitativen Sozialforschung. Mit Analysekonzepten wie "Deutungsmuster", "Klassifikationen", "Phänomenstruktur", "narrative Struktur", "Dispositiv" u.a. und im Rückgriff auf Arbeitsstrategien der "Grounded Theory" reorientiert sie die Diskursperspektive weg von der Frage nach Sprache und hin zum soziologischen Interesse an der Untersuchung gesellschaftlicher Wissensverhältnisse und Wissenspolitiken, zur diskursiven Konstruktion der Wirklichkeit als materialem Prozess.

Every civilization has a system of ethics that defines their values and morality. The basic concepts of "Good" and "Evil" are also derived from that system. This system of ethics gains its inspiration from the world view of that particular civilization. Islam, like all other religions, also give a complete moral code for its believers. Qur'ān and the Sunnah here is the only criterion for determining the basic principles of the Ethics of Islam and hence morality in Islam is objective as well as absolute. In the post-modern world however, the morality and value system that got endorsed by Postmodernist thinkers is relative and subjective instead of absolute and objective. Morality here is largely considered as relative as well as subjective and hence vary with change in time and space. It can also undergo through evolution and no act or concept can be judged here on some absolute criterion. This "Relativism" and "Subjectivism" potentially challenge all the traditional schools of ethics. This paper would study whether this relativistic theory of ethics have any compatibility with Islamic fundamentals regarding ethics. This research paper is based on descriptive method along with primordial focus on Moral Relativism.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: Knowledge management (KM) issues support the possibility of achieving competitive advantage. However, it is not a simple process, as knowledge sharing does not come naturally. Hence, there is a need for research on individual, team and organisational antecedents using a wider range of methods. Investigating the causes of selective knowledge concealment is the main objective of the article, as well as the impact of organisational culture and the determinants of knowledge concealment or sharing by employees.
THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: Individual in-depth interviews were conducted with managers and employees to collect empirical data, while thematic content analysis was used to analyse the collected data and draw conclusions.
THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: Perceptions of the world and of organisations are shared by people from a given environment. Mental models take into account the multifaceted nature of the phenomena under study: perception, focus and experience. The beliefs held by employees are important because they imply management actions at all levels: tactical, operational and strategic.
RESEARCH RESULTS: Employees do not hide their knowledge automatically but selectively. They subliminally assess the value of the knowledge sought, the value of the seeker, the immediate situation and wider contextual and organisational factors. Interestingly, respondents surveyed were more likely to share knowledge with foreign colleagues from a different national culture than with colleagues of the same nationality and cultural background.
CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: A number of recommendations of an applied nature were presented in the article. It is important to create a common willingness to share knowledge among employees. A skilful increase in social capital should foster a decrease in the concealment of valuable knowledge and at the same time increase the extent of sharing. An efficient reward system, individually designed for the needs of the organisation, could support this process.

"In den letzten Jahren ist die Einrichtung klinischer Ethikkomitees wie eine Welle aus den Vereinigten Staaten nach Europa und Deutschland geschwappt. Diese Komitees haben von ihrer formellen Ausrichtung her - im Gegensatz zu medizinischen Ethikkommissionen - eine beratende Funktion für Patienten wie für medizinisches Personal in ethisch problematischen Fällen. Als drei Hauptaufgaben klinischer Ethikkomitees wird in der einschlägigen Literatur zwischen Entwicklung von Leitlinien für wiederkehrende ethische Dilemmata, Schulung des medizinischen Personals in ethischen Fragen sowie Besprechung und Beratung ethischer Problemfälle unterschieden. Die Institution eines Komitees erscheint als eine Reaktion auf Problemlagen im klinischen Alltag, die entweder als neu wahrgenommen werden - hier wäre vor allem an einen steigenden Druck bisher ungekannter Entscheidungssituationen zu denken, die durch technischen Fortschritt und Möglichkeitszuwachs in der medizinischen Wissenschaft aufgeworfen werden - oder aber für die bisher im Krankenhaus übliche Lösungen fraglich bis obsolet geworden sind. Das interdisziplinäre DFG-Projekt 'Ethik und Organisation' an den Universitäten München (Prof. Nassehi/ Prof. Schibilsky) und Göttingen (Prof. Anselm) hat in einem methodischen Dreischritt (biographische Interviews, teilnehmende Beobachtung, Experteninterviews) umfangreiches Material u.a. zu der Frage erhoben, wie es den Mitgliedern der klinischen Ethikkomitees gelingt, ein ethisches Sonderwissen im Krankenhauszu beanspruchen und zu etablieren, über das in Beratungen im Komitee und auf Station Beratungsautorität hergestellt wird. Der Vortrag will zeigen, dass dieses Wissen der Ethikexperten stets das Problem lösen muss, wie es sich von Begründungen und Deutungshoheiten des klassischen medizinischen Professionswissens abgrenzen und sich gegenüber diesen behaupten kann. Die Ethikkomitees dringen dabei als formelle Struktur in den Bereich des Arzt-Patienten-Verhältnisses ein, das traditionell als besonderes lebensweltliches Vertrauensverhältnis zwischen professionellem Mediziner und seinem Klienten gedacht wird. Es ist ein Professionalisierungsprozess zu beobachten, in dem Ethik als Begründungs- und Reflexionswissen den Exklusivitätsanspruch der Medizin im Zugang zum Patienten aufzuweichen beginnt." Im Übergang von der Industrie- zur Wissensgesellschaft verschiebt sich zum einen der Schwerpunkt von körperlicher Arbeit auf den Erwerb, die Produktion und neue Formen der Nutzung von Wissen. Zum anderen verändern sich die typischen Merkmale des Wissens und im Vordergrund steht nicht mehr das produktorientierte methodisch-dogmatische Wissen, sondern eher ein kommunikationsorientiertes, vielfältig ausgehandeltes und damit experimentell erarbeitetes Wissen. Wissen ist aus dieser Perspektive betrachtet nicht etwas Endgültiges, etwas das man haben und mehr oder weniger problemlos reproduzieren und anwenden kann, sondern es muss immer wieder experimentell bewährt werden. Dies erfordert Lernprozesse auf beständig ungesichertem Terrain. Vor diesem Hintergrund stellt sich die methodologische Frage, wie die Wissenschaft unter diesen Bedingungen tragfähige Erkenntnisse gewinnen kann. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden hierzu einige Antworten gegeben. Zunächst wird ein angemessenes soziologisches Verständnis von Experimenten skizziert, welches im Konzept der Realexperimente eine Form gefunden hat, die den neuen Anforderungen genügen kann. Im Anschluss daran wird ein weiteres Konzept, die prozedurale Methodologie, vorgestellt. Dabei wird die zentrale Bedeutung des Verfahrensbegriffs für experimentelle Lernprozesse herausgestellt. Die Konsequenzen für die Möglichkeiten wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisgewinnung werden abschließend resümiert. (ICI2)

The concepts of power advanced by Karl Mannheim & Michel Foucault are described & compared. The similar central themes of these two authors' works emerged out of similar social contexts of fragmentation. They differ, however, in that Mannheim was unable to set aside the idea of absolute objectivity entirely, whereas Foucault is much more successful in resolving the tension between ideas of objective reality & relational complexity. Little or nothing is said of empiricism in U.S. accounting literature during the first half of the twentieth century in accounting history literature. The objectives of this study are threefold: (1) to determine if an empirical accounting literature existed prior to 1950; (2) to determine if pre-1950 empiricism was extensive enough and substantive enough to have influenced the development of accounting thought; and (3) to compare pre-1950 empirical work with contemporary academic research. It is concluded that empirics were common prior to 1950 from examining a sample (approximately forty percent) of volumes (clusters) of The Accounting Review, The Journal of Accountancy, Michigan Business Review, The American Accountant and the N.A.C.A. Bulletin. One hundred eighteen articles and eleven books and monographs are classified as "empirical" in this study.
A sample was drawn from the books and monographs and classified using several recently developed taxonomies of accounting literature. This sample included works in several accounting specializations and also included works by both academic and non-academic authors from all of the journals. The empirics found in most of the studies were essential to the studies and not peripheral. However, inferential statistics were rarely used and the designs of the studies were very primitive. The sample yielded no evidence of a transition to a contemporary hypothetico-deductive paradigm. While not common, there were attempts at "positivism." However, the authors of most financial accounting studies were concerned with normative theory. Empiricism was extensive enough and substantive enough to have had considerable influence on normative theorists and the development of the accounting literature of the period.

This book establishes that neoclassical economics based on the marginal utility calculus failed to derive a theory of consumer market price discovery consistent with the experimental market evidence. Such markets involve inherently discrete final-demand items bought for consumption and not subject to resale. Classical economists following Adam Smith articulated a rich narrative of price discovery theory consistent with experimental evidence based on operational concepts of discrete demand values (maximum willingness-to-pay), and symmetrically, supply costs (minimum willingness-to-accept). We develop and extend a mathematical model of classical market price formation. Chapter 1 & 2 describes this theme and chapter 3 connects it with experiments. Chapter 4 builds on experimental examples for an intuitive overview of the theory. A partial equilibrium version of the theory constitutes Chapter 5. Chapter 6 extends this framework to price formation by wealth constrained agents in multiple-goods markets. Chapter 7 applies this framework to the study of re-tradable durable-goods and financial claims that are subject to sources of instability absent in markets for consumer non-durables. Sabiou M. Inoua is a visiting research associate at the Economic Science Institute at Chapman University. His primary research now pertains to value theory and its intellectual history; his other research interests include the stylized facts of financial markets, the link between economic complexity and economic development, and the theory of inequality measurement. Vernon L. Smith received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2002 for his groundbreaking work in experimental economics. Smith has joint appointments with the Argyros School of Business & Economics and the School of Law, and is part of the team that has created the new Economic Science Institute at Chapman University. He is also a cofounder of The Smith Institute for Political Economy and Philosophy which has been established to create the Humanomics undergraduate research and education program at Chapman University.
