; The Zentraler Kaderdatenspeicher (ZKDS, Central Cadre Database) of the Council of Ministers of the GDR contains the data of approx. 700.000 functionaries from different parts of that late socialist society, of whom the management elite from state owned enterprises of the highly industrialized GDR is a large part of. A variety of variables allows discriminating scholarly access to the collective biography of the managers and the complex recruitment processes underlying it. The paper delivers a short description of the core data, discusses the problem of selecting subpopulations, and compares figures of important categories to statistic sources. Additionally, a special category of GDR personnel is examined which can be researched into by detecting it from the ZKDS entries on social background, namely persons hailing from private entrepreneur's families - the children of the abolished old capitalist class.

The purpose of this paper is to outline human resource management strategies in educational institutions and investigate the implications of the systemic approach. The methodology is the combination of primary and secondary research. Primary research is quantitative and refers to a case study on conflict management in an educational organization between the Director and his subordinates. The method of collecting data was the on-site observation from the position of deputy director, since it is an experiential experience. Secondary research is based on content analysis from different case studies, draws data from modern literature, leads to critical analysis of human resource management strategy theories and examines their effectiveness. Conflict in an educational organization is influenced by both structural and personal factors. According to modern theories of management education, conflicts in an educational organization can be both positive and negative and can positively contribute to activating people for greater effort and efficient operation. This research argues that a comprehensive analysis of the environment and complex systems can contribute to the understanding of contemporary issues. It is based on the principles of systemic theory and suggests the imperative need of knowledge of conflict management by education executives. There are bibliographic gaps in the recording and analysis of case studies, dealing with the management and resolution of conflicts between education staff and subordinates.

an.

The objectives of Open Government Data (OGD) are to promote transparency, accountability, and collaboration with the public. Structural issues within Subnational OGD and limited governance of urban data collection technologies have led to public concerns about ethical data collection, privacy, and digital human rights. However, OGD research is often purpose-driven evaluating specific parts of the system from a technical perspective and forgoes what data means to us as humans living in cities. The purpose of this study is to examine OGD use in Canada's cities from a values-based perspective. Using design thinking, strategic foresight, and systems thinking methodology, this research first investigates the current state of the system and uncovers that the metaphor, knowledge is power, is contributing to its insufficiencies. Alternative system metaphors are unpacked using future scenarios that demonstrate areas of critical uncertainty to which we are unprepared. Using the scenarios as the guide, this research submits decision making principles that OGD decision makers and open data advocates can use to humanize data.

Περιέχει το πλήρες κείμενο ; The topic of this article is the comparative analysis of the data structure of the extant pridianumtype documents from the Roman Empire. The pridianum is a report on the status and the changes of a cohort, which was compiled once or twice a year. Though we don't have any contemporary sources on the data recording methods of the Roman army, with the analysis of these documents we can discover some regularities referring to conscious recording of statistical data. These regularities in the macrostructure of documents also can help us to get more information about fragmentary documents.
