Many of the activities of academic social indicators research during the 1970s were successful and the results found remarkable attention in scientific, political and public discussion. Soziale Indikatoren is a key word in all recent German social science dictionaries and several textbooks have been published. The outcomes of social indicators research had a strong impact on the establishment of governmental social reporting. (SJK)
This important book explores the links between research, evidence-based practice and policy in social care. Basing their chapters in case-study material, the contributors examine the issues arising from qualitative and quantitative methodologies, critique orthodox views of ethics and offer examples of innovative social research methods.

"Social Work and Social Welfare: An Invitation is a best-selling text and website for introductory courses in social work. It provides students with the knowledge, skills, and values that are essential for working with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities, in a variety of practice settings. The sixth edition has been updated to reflect the contemporary world in which today's social workers practice, with current demographic, statistical, legislative, policy, and research information; sensitive discussions of ethical dilemmas; and fresh profiles of social workers with first-person narratives to demonstrate the dynamic field students will be joining. To address the dramatic changes in the world in which social workers practice since the fifth edition was released, we have revised and added content: Centering diversity, equity, inclusion to elevate anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice, including a critical review of our profession's history. Demonstrating how the pandemic exposed and intensified inequities as well as ways in which social workers responded to the needs of their clients, organizations, and communities. Updating language to reflect commitment and respect for inclusivity, gender identity, and non-gendered identities. The content in this text is supported by a range of fully updated instructor-led and student resources that are available on its companion website, www.routledgesw.com. Assignments, exercises, and readings that help instructors and students apply the concepts and theories the textbook reviews may be found there, as well as extensive interactive case studies to engage students in some of society's most challenging issues"--

The lack of African social work literature and an overreliance on Western literature have led to calls for African scholars to produce rich social work texts to support Africa's decolonisation agenda. In Social Work, Social Welfare, and Social Development in Nigeria: A Postcolonial Perspective, Mel Gray and Solomon Ahmadasun offer a key text on social work in Nigeria.
The return of social pacts in the context of the current economic crisis, as seen in southern European countries, invites the revival of the discussion about the development of social dialogue practice in its specific context. Based on a longitudinal analysis we examine the agenda of Spanish tripartite social pacts. We do this by assessing their priorities and the actors' strategies for their involvement in social dialogue by taking the overall political, legal and social context into account. The results are then used to discuss the future implications for Spanish social partners. Challenges regarding the future role of the social partners in collective bargaining, their political exchange and their dependence on political allies are observed.

The integration of disadvantaged, marginalised and disadvantaged sectors into the labour market represents one of the biggest challenges of today's society. This has been understood by the European Union in setting up the Community initiative HORIZON, which aims to support human promotion projects in this regard. These insertion companies have different legal forms, with cooperative forms being the most appropriate means of creating jobs because they offer training and employment opportunities, which do not exist in capital companies. Since 1991, Italian legislation has created 'social cooperatives' for this purpose, which we will analyse below.
