The foreign policy of great-power China

The author presents a brief, initial inquiry into the question of whether or not China will "seek hegemony" as its economic development makes it the pre-eminent power in the Asia-Pacific region and thereby gives it the wherewithal to attempt to reshape the regional system of interstate relations. He concludes that contrary to the premises of statements of PRC officials, China's unique characteristics do not make China any less inclined toward hegemony than any of the other great powers.
