This book analyzes how the increasing number of same-sex couples is changing the traditional concepts of family and parenthood, and how these changes affect the psychological studies of family, couple relationships and human development. The majority of chapters included in this contributed volume present results of research conducted with LGBTQ+ people in Brazil, a country where same-sex couples have been recognized by the national legislation since 2011, but is currently facing a conservative wave which threatens much of the victories gained by the LGBTQ+ movement in recent years. "Diese experimentelle Studie untersuchte, ob sich Stereotype Threat negativ auf die Leseleistung von Jungen auswirkt. Zudem wurde überprüft, ob Identifikation mit der Gruppe Geschlecht, Identifikation mit der Domäne Lesen, lesebezogenes Selbstkonzept und Schulform Voraussetzungen für das Erleben von Stereotype Threat sind. Männliche Schüler (N=222) zweier Schulformen (Gymnasium, Realschule) bearbeiteten Leseaufgaben in einer Stereotype-Threat- (explizit, implizit) oder einer No-Threat-Bedingung. Mittels Fragebögen wurden die möglichen Moderatorvariablen erfasst. Im Gegensatz zu vorangegangenen Studien blieb ein leistungsmindernder Stereotype-Threat-Effekt auf die Leseleistung von Jungen aus. Entgegen der Vermutung konnten keine Moderatorvariablen für einen Stereotype Threat-Effekt identifiziert werden. Die Ergebnisse weisen darauf hin, dass Stereotype Threat kein einheitliches Konstrukt ist, sondern abhängig von der stigmatisierten Gruppe und der stereotypisierten Fähigkeitsdomäne untersucht werden sollte." Purpose– The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the Gender and Diversity Stream, Standing Working Group (SWG) at the recent European Group of Organisational Studies (EGOS) Colloquium, which was hosted in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The paper provides an overview of the SWG before turning to the scope of the papers and a brief synopsis of three of the best papers within the context of the stream.Design/methodology/approach– Approach is report style following submission of a paper and participation in the three-day colloquium.Findings– Evidently, the Gender and Diversity Stream has secured its position within the EGOS colloquium. The stream provides an environment forum in which to present works where participants engage in critical reviews of participant's work. The success of this growing stream is found not only in the scholarly and practical importance of the subject terrain but also in the organisation of the stream which is thematically organised to ensure participants were engaged and actively took part in the discussion.Originality/value– This paper presents insights on the EGOS SWG on "Gender and Diversity" and traces the topic of "critical approaches to organising and managing diversity" which was the SWG's main theme of the stream at the EGOS Colloquium in Rotterdam 2014.

International audience ; The aim of this article is to show the way women were represented in the revolutionary theatre of the times of Great Terror (1793—1794). After three years of social and political changes brought by the Revolution women are no longer shown as possessions of their families or husbands. Although marriage remains the focus of their existence, they all fight to have a good life and a good marriage with a respectful partner, rather than with an all-mighty master who despises them. Many of female characters we meet are very independent and self-conscious — especially the younger generation who are well aware of the possibility of divorce. Men change too; fathers no longer decide for their daughters, while unfaithful husbands improve their behaviour, as they all know that the basis of general and personal happiness is a happy marriage.

"The Politics of Silence, Voice and the In-Between: Exploring Gender, Race and Insecurity from the Margins seeks to dismantle the deficit discourses generated through research about people as agency-less and, by extension, objects of study. This article deals with the emerging discourse on sustainable work, which has been triggered by the ecologically initiated discussions on sustainable development. It gives a critical overview of the most important approaches to this subject from a feminist perspective. From a feminist point of view many of the current concepts of 'sustainable society' and 'sustainable work' have several deficiencies. The main point of criticism is that these approaches do not consider gender differences appropriately, especially with regard to the gendered division of work. Feminist approaches to the sustainable redefinition of work, on the other hand, tend to be essentialist and therefore have to be looked upon critically, too. Trying to escape both of these pitfalls, the author suggests a gender-sensitive socio-ecological approach to the complex field of sustainable work. This approach views socio-ecological problems as gendered problems and appreciates a transdisciplinary access to questions of sustainable development.
